Yeah in the video the car passed GTD (lower class), and PC (higher class). Prototype Challenge cars have faster acceleration while they have less Horsepower than the GTLM cars. So that's why it was easy to catch the PC cars at this track. Other tracks the PC cars will outrun the GTLM cars
I’m extremely late but you’ve also got drivers with more cash than talent in the PC cars while the Viper was being piloted by a out and out professional.
It was never legal. It was waivered in by agreement as it was way over the capacity limit for the class, but all of the GTLM cars are/were restricted in one way or another.
Cool car, but he really shouldn't have attempted to make a move on the prototype at 2:30... that was never gonna happen. Guess everybody gets tired in endurance races :)
