In the documenatry of The Runaways, they said they all acted like their heros an stage. Joan pretended she was Suzi Quatro, Cherie was David Bowie(duh), Lita was Jimmy Hendrix and Richie Blackmore, Jackie thought she was Gene Simons minus the tounge and Sandy pretended she was a member of Queen. I think wen i become lead guitarist for a band, ima act like Lita, shes so FUCKING badass!
Probably my favorite Runaway's tune, and the Queens of Noise album still rocks as it did in '77-'78. One of the best lines from this song..."Battered boys and shattered girls"..
they never cease to amaze me !! i'm a runaways fan since 1977. and as much as i loved them then, watching them now, just intensifies all the memories i had of them ! i can see a lot of rocks great bands influence, in all of there songs, and stage actions. led zepellin, judas priest, deep purple, and many others. the runaways will always ROCK !! thanks, cherieO.
~The look that Cherie gave Joan was like "wtf.?" Lol. But, I think it's like 100% sweet that, Joan sang the 1st part of the chorus, so that, Cherie wouldnt get as tired because of the high pitch notes, she hadd to sing. Joan is such an awesome friend :)
There will never be another Runaways. I was so glad to be around during these times, and be able to experience them. I have every record they ever made. What a trip this vid is. Thanks for sharing.
@@dale4039 no they're not as heavy as the runaways... not even cherri bomb (girl band named like that... yep realy) is heavy enough today we need a band that is like the runaways and we don't have it
This song also represents what ended the Runaways...Lita wanted the band to be more metal, heavy with guitar solos. While Joan liked more the punk approach to music. This song is exactly that
Heavier and a more serious sounding song. Wow, this is good song. Joan sounded good. Sounded comfy in her throat chakra!! And mixed well with curries voice. Saving this one..
@CapriseCadaverous ur not the only one :)) i think this was kristen's best role. she portrayed joan so well, the way she talked, moved, acted, sang, etc. it was amazing
I like how this song starts and ends :) after listening and watching this song miley, justen, jonas brothers and all those teen singers of today eat your hearts out I can't believe that this voice is from a 16 or 17 years old both cherie and joan were and still amazing maybe they didn't get famous like the mentioned up there but they for sure left something that they will be proud of for ever
Actually, her vocal range is everywhere. During the runaways, she was struggling with all the songs anyway. Watch the way she shakes her head when she goes too low, or too high. She doent really have a range (: And i love her! Well, i love the runaways too :) Duhh
WineSippingCowboy She’s an awesome guitar player but she could never hit those notes. In part I feel Lita and Jackie really wanted to screw Cherie, forcing her to go almost beyond her vocal range just to mess with her, because Lita and Cherie couldn’t stand each other.
This song kicks @ss! Cherie's voice sounds so mature for a 15 years old. Even though I love Joan and her bad sexiness, Cherie was the best singer in the band by far.
0:50 Cherie gives Joan that look because she's trying to keep in sync with her vocals. Why do you think she looked back at Joan 2 seconds later when she joined in? Man, the drama people try to make...
@ahadnagy167 I think it was just Cherie doing her bad girl look and turn from the audience thing. And of course she looks at Joan, because she and Joan were really close.
@yourimaginaryenemy Kristen Stewart does resemble Cherie Currie more physically then she does Joan but she also acts more like Cherie then Joan I think. Joan back in the early days was shy and quiet, Cherie on the other hand was acting out as the wild child.
@twigagawizard Queens of Noise was only one of the songs Joan sang leads on when it should have been Cherie on leads. There were several others that were sung in studio by Joan instead of Cherie.
@amazingbella23 yeah i saw the doc edgeplay and cherie said she was supposed to sing queens of noise on the album but she was late so joan did it and that deeply upset her
@twigagawizard Well in the studio version Joan sings the chorus so Cherie was probably just being stingy about the song..I love Cherie but she was stingy sometimes with the vocals. Its understandable because she was the lead vocals but you gotta learn to share at some point in life. lol

Sandy used to pretend she was Roger Taylor ;)
And jon Bonham
The Runaways were true 70's Rock and Roll once in a lifetime glad I lived to see them!!!!!
Probably my favorite Runaway's tune, and the Queens of Noise album still rocks as it did in '77-'78. One of the best lines from this song..."Battered boys and shattered girls"..
I love this song.
The Runaways are the neon angels!
:)
The hottest and sexiest girl band of all time
The Best Girl power Rock Band Yes school Days memory 💯 Sandy West Great drummer Yes a real Rock Star Queen. Rip Sandy West 💕💕💕
they never cease to amaze me !!

I love Cherie's voice so much
~The look that Cherie gave Joan was like "wtf.?" Lol. But, I think it's like 100% sweet that, Joan sang the 1st part of the chorus, so that, Cherie wouldnt get as tired because of the high pitch notes, she hadd to sing. Joan is such an awesome friend :)
Joan’s the plug 🤟🤟🤟
lmao I never get over that part when I see this
I love when band members do stuff like that and look after eachother
No, it's because Joan can sing and Cherie sounds like a coyote stuck in a bear trap.
@@solwong1338 LMAO!
Jackie stated that Cherie didn't care to sing this song because she had to sing it in such high pitch.
I would want to see Judas Priest cover it.
There will never be another Runaways. I was so glad to be around during these times, and be able to experience them. I have every record they ever made. What a trip this vid is. Thanks for sharing.
Why don't you post something more about them ? It could be sooo nice
Lita on the intro & outro owned that riff...clean but greasy
we need this kind of girl bands these days
theres the amorettes
look for Heavy Tigers, they're very good. There's other good all-girls rock bands though they're difficult to find
@@dale4039 no they're not as heavy as the runaways... not even cherri bomb (girl band named like that... yep realy) is heavy enough
today we need a band that is like the runaways and we don't have it
Oh yes!
We do, thanks to the Runaways.
Lita Ford guitar goddess!!
This song also represents what ended the Runaways...Lita wanted the band to be more metal, heavy with guitar solos. While Joan liked more the punk approach to music. This song is exactly that
R.I.P Sandy.. This rocks!!! yeah :D love them
Lita played as good as Hendrix.
BS
Very close
Dude I love Jackie
Heavier and a more serious sounding song.
Wow, this is good song.

@CapriseCadaverous ur not the only one :)) i think this was kristen's best role. she portrayed joan so well, the way she talked, moved, acted, sang, etc. it was amazing
these are one of my fave bands - the 70s rocked!!
I like how this song starts and ends :)
after listening and watching this song
miley, justen, jonas brothers and all those teen singers of today
eat your hearts out
I can't believe that this voice is from a 16 or 17 years old both cherie and joan were and still amazing
maybe they didn't get famous like the mentioned up there but they for sure left something that they will be proud of for ever
@moonshadow387 sandy's role model onstage was Roger Taylor, aka the drummer.
Me encanta la voz de Cherie, es mucho mejor de lo que pensaba :3
Ugh... I Love you Joan
still amazing that they were all barely sixteen!
Sandy West was a criminally underrated drummer RIP
Actually, her vocal range is everywhere. During the runaways, she was struggling with all the songs anyway. Watch the way she shakes her head when she goes too low, or too high. She doent really have a range (: And i love her! Well, i love the runaways too :) Duhh
cherie has some great stage moves!!!
i was going to say that too
Sings like Ozzy.
I always wanted to play the bass guitar in this band. ❤🎸
40 years! How about a version today where Lita Ford sings?! She is a co-writer.
WineSippingCowboy She’s an awesome guitar player but she could never hit those notes. In part I feel Lita and Jackie really wanted to screw Cherie, forcing her to go almost beyond her vocal range just to mess with her, because Lita and Cherie couldn’t stand each other.
Lita hasn't got a hope of hittin those notes.
This song kicks @ss! Cherie's voice sounds so mature for a 15 years old. Even though I love Joan and her bad sexiness, Cherie was the best singer in the band by far.
Fuckin love this track.
This band had more talent in it's Rhythm Guitarist/ backing vocalist than most bands have period.
Wow I just love watching these videos. They're awesome.
Jackie in those shorts and her eyes. Not to mention her back line keeping things together. She was a great Bass Player and she performed as well.
Jackie Fox on her Myspace page said this was one of her LEAST favorite songs. Don't know why; it's one of my favorites.
0:50 Cherie gives Joan that look because she's trying to keep in sync with her vocals. Why do you think she looked back at Joan 2 seconds later when she joined in?
Man, the drama people try to make...
I love how they rock out with there instruments! They make it fun!
It looks to me like at 2:02 Jackie swings her bass around and nearly smacks Cherie in the head.
I love i love i love i love joan!!!!! Goddessessssssssssss!!!
GREAT video. Sounds almost identical to the studio version as well. Would give anything to see these girls together for one more tour and album...
And they were called jail bait bait i was 13 in 77 if i can go back ill be jail bait too 😅
@ahadnagy167 I think it was just Cherie doing her bad girl look and turn from the audience thing. And of course she looks at Joan, because she and Joan were really close.
@yourimaginaryenemy Kristen Stewart does resemble Cherie Currie more physically then she does Joan but she also acts more like Cherie then Joan I think. Joan back in the early days was shy and quiet, Cherie on the other hand was acting out as the wild child.
..never thought I'd get to see this! Thanks from a longtime Runaways fan!
Cherie sings amazing on this track.
She does on every one :)
Muito foda!!
Such a chorus
Great song. But that first 25 seconds or so. Holy shit.
Sandy
This is so fucking bad- ass… love it!
@twigagawizard Queens of Noise was only one of the songs Joan sang leads on when it should have been Cherie on leads. There were several others that were sung in studio by Joan instead of Cherie.
@xrysatsoutsouli ....My comment is about dakota´s physical aspect not his attitude .... and I was talking about the runaways movie ........
@moonshadow387 It´s so true what you say, as i looked at Jackie it really reminded me at KISS and then I read your comment ^^
this was very rock nroll.
XD Why did she give her that glare?
GREAT VID!
Its understandable because she was the lead vocals but you gotta learn to share at some point in life. lol
She sounds like Ozzy from Vol IV.
this clip is from "live in Tokio" I got the vinyil copy & CD,can any one help me geting the DVD
I am on the lost highway on my way to the road to ruin wink wink.
Kristen Stewart resembles Cherie Currie a lot more facially than she does Joan Jett.
was joan not supposed to sing there? cherie looks a little pissed lol
I agree, she does look alot like Cherie.
Ha Joan was lit!
サンディは若くして亡くなられているんですよね😓
tight
I thought so too...
But I guess her character/personality/whatever is more like Joan Jett's and that's what really matters.
1:44
She has raped the guitar *-*
@yourimaginaryenemy I PERSONALLY AGREE WITH YOU.......AND IN FACT...DAKOTA LOOKS MORE LIKE JOAN...
@AGinnerstar Damn it must be cool to be related to her...
1:53 joan says rock n roll ?
@oldgunsnroses4eva they did get famous. just not in usa
Cherie sounds like a vengeful 18th century witch.
@yourimaginaryenemy Maybe, but she sounds more like Joan.
@moonshadow387 im guna b Cherie n Jackie since i play bass
digging the vocals but can't understand a word . lol
@ahadnagy167 no no it wasnt
why?
Cherie still had baby-fat cheeks back then. Dakota was a good choice for the movie.
They should have sold millions. Bloody great and Cherrie should have sued stupid Madonna.
hımm kristen was good i guess..she played joan well
Badass performence by Cherrie. Killer song but it's out of her vocal range.
She pulled it off here nontheless!
