  • Great little item from Motone.co.uk, a simple bracket to move the indicators off the head light mounts, and set them lower down the forks.
    www.motone.co.uk and check out thier stock, lots of great farkles.

    The turn signal relocation looks much better! I enjoy the way you two joke around during projects. I can tell you both have deep feelings for each other and that is great! I really enjoy your channel but, miss the ride and talks. Take care my great friends.

      Hi Scott, it's important to have a laugh eh? I know what you mean about the ride videos, we've kind of stepped away from them this year as it's gotten so busy with everything else the channel does, but I do keep wondering whether investing in another action cam might be a good idea to capture the odd day out... maybe we can find a deal over the Christmas period...! Great to have contact with you again, stay in touch my friends, all the best from us both!

    Very nice little bracket, will look even better when you've got the smaller blinkers on it. I've got the NewBonneville complete running light kit in black on mine. Really tidies up the back end, but need to wire out the indicator running lights.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ben, yeah, you're right, those factory indicators are rather rediculous, Motone are currently developing a really cool 'Lucas' style back light thats LED and comes with a tail tidy plate, once we get those, ill match the style with some fitting looking indicators, ive seen some, but as ive said, they are only available in the USA at the moment, but next year im sure they'll have a supplier here...

      Thanks Pete, frustrated as i meant to do a before and after shot....but you can see it if you flick between 0:15 and 13:00 ...the whole bike looks more sleek and better proportioned....shame the factory cant employ a designer that can see that...! thanks for wathcing mate..

    good modification, I have a Scrambler & a Thruxton, the Thruxton bracket is lower & fits with the big headlight. I ended up fitting a Thruxton bracket on the Scrambler to lower the indicators, also have indicators from the US on the Thruxton as well as a lucas style light

    I had to put her (Triumph) in the shed for the winter. All is good I do have my Honda (1960's C200 to work on and that's sitting in the living room. Might do a go over vlog today with it for something to do.

    sorry must introduce myself , just started viewing your vids which i find most interesting, i think triumph had many problems with the regulator that's why they placed them in the position were max air flow was available, i have triumph sprint gt were the reg is placed left side of petrol tank and gets very hot, thinking of attaching temp controlled fan to assist cooling, have you had any problems with such devices

      Hey Scott, how good to hear from you again, Penny and i only mention last night that we haven't heard from you for ages...hope you are both well.
      I absolutly LOVE the new Scout, and its clearly aimed at the Harley V-Rod customers, (its like a V-Rod Muscle with style..lol)....but ten times more cool...i think Harley need to be careful here..they're gonna lose a lot of customers to that bike... and yeah, 100hp out of the box...ha ha, whats not to like.. yeehaar.
      Am i to gleen from that question that you've been thinking of upgrading the Iron..?
      Take care buddy,
      All the best

    Thank you so much for all your videos. Your videos are essential. I am replacing a headlamp bracket on 2017 Bonnie T100. I do not access to a lift & do not have a center stand so the bike will be on a side stand. Will the front tire being on the ground affect me removing the nut on the stem? I also will be putting down towels for the bars as I do not have skyhooks. Any tips there? Thanks for the help & your amazing channel.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, great to hear from you and great choice of bike! I'm afraid you will need to take the weight off the front wheel, if you're going to remove the top yoke, that supports the forks, so you won't even be able to lift it off if the weight of the forks is on it... so no, you can't do this with the wheel on the ground... however, what about as an option, with the bike on the side stand, do you have a jack of any kind? Trolley jack? Car Scissor Jack? Hell, even some bricks, or blocks of wood with a rag over them to protect the frame paint...and place that support underneath the right hand frame rail at the front next to the exhaust pipe... if you lift at that point, you'll push the bike over on to it's side stand, and as it's towards the front of the frame, it will lift the front wheel...
      Now be careful, maybe get someone to stand to the left of the bike and steady it, but at least that way you will lift the weight off the front wheel... the wheel doesn't even need to come off the ground, just lift enough weight off it so you can turn it with your hand and it scrapes against the ground... then you can take the top yoke off and fit your headlight brackets... hope that helps, good luck with it, let us know how you get on!

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ryan, yes, we did previously fit a relocator plate, but Penny didn't like the look of it and it's more traditional to have them under the light anyway... so we took it off and put it back to standard!

    Very useful for a tecnophobe like me. Thanks for all your assistance on here (y) .
    I'm just about to get a Bonnie after having my Speedy written off (Cat D). Want to do lots to the Bonnie, and one of the jobs I think I will want to do is to fit a PAIR of smaller (Thruxton sized?) headlights to the Bonnie, ala the Speedy.
    Is this something you've done, or have any idea's about?

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Rob Chisholm Hi Rob, never fitted two lights on a Bonnie, but with regular type forks its dead easy...all you need is the braketry to hold them and piggy back wire one to the other... should be an easy project and you could make a nice install with some attention to detail..

    Hi, I have a 2001 CBR 600. The indicators have recently started playing up - I hit the switch and the bulb flashes once, then nothing for 5 seconds or so and then they flash normally (both sides do this). Any suggestion on what I should look at? Thanks, Pete

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pete, sounds like your flasher relay is toast, just pop a new one in mate... it's supposed to sense current and cut the power within 1 second and start flashing, but yours is obviously cutting the current and not building up again... easy fix mate!

    • @kangaroo659
      @kangaroo659 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Just got a bit of WD40 into the switch (hadn't realised how sticky it had become over the months) and it seems to be working fine right now but it is a mild day today. Will see how it works on the next cold morning and then look at the relay as my next step - looked it up in the manual and evidently have to remove the fairing to get to it - is this why people buy naked bikes? :) Thanks for the advice.

  • @mylesberg5731
    @mylesberg5731 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Del-a few months ago I ordered aftermarket lights. I changed out the rear brake and turn signals without a problem, as well as the new front turn signals. At that time I installed the front signals in the original location besides the headlamp. When I later installed the front turn signal relocation bracket behind the regulator, the turn signals wouldn't work. It drove me crazy for hours, as I assumed I had crimped a wire or something until I realized that the turn signals worked when not mounted on the bracket behind the regulator. The regular must have carried a charge to the mount, then to the turn signal, as all of the parts are metallic (unlike the stock turn signals that have a plastic covering that touches the new mount). Do you have any suggestions as to how I can mount the new turn signals on the behind regulator mount without affecting the electrical charge? Should I use rubber O-rings between the washers to interfere with the current passing through to the signals? Or should I use a regular relocation bracket, move it above the horn, then install the turn signals on the bracket? Any suggestions would be appreciated-thanks!

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Myles Berg Hi Myles, I would never put electrical components near a reg/rec whether you insulate it or not... naturally as you know it's job is to vent huge amounts of excess current and it's never gonna be a realiable location... this is why they mount it up front in the fresh air to keep it cool... have a look ta the cool brackets from Motone that clamp their new small indicators around the fork leg, above the bottom yoke, un-obstrusive and really slick looking, you'll find them on their ebay shop...!

    • @mylesberg5731
      @mylesberg5731 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the suggestion Del. I saw your video when you changed out the front and rear lights, unfortunately, after I changed my lights out already. I'll have to check if the Motone brackets would fit my existing aftermarket front turn signals. This would be a really good alternative if it worked.

      I use a bar end mirror that has a great field of view being convex....here's a link;- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-BAR-END-MIRRORS-BLACK-BIKE-MOTORBIKE-REARVIEW-7-8-UNIVERSAL-PAIR-2-/351051050720?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item51bc45eee0
      I use the cheapest ones i can get, as the moment you hit them on anything, of the bike falls over the get destroyed....and i only use the right one as well because it keep the bike looking clean, and you can see right across behind as they are so curved... hope that helps... Del.

    Much better look. I hate the stock turn signals -- look like Starship Enterprise. Still looking for a similar option to replace the rear assembly. Quite expensive, for some reason. • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, the best solution for the rear is actually to remove them from the cluster all together and put them forward on the shock mounts, there are some great, dedicated brackets available for this from various companies, including Motone... and they wires reach, so they just plug in!
