I think it’s their biggest strength.
Of course they planned the whole well, gave great fight scenes and good stories but their standout strength is The Cast or at least the cast of their super heroes and the two most important villains Thanos and Loki.

Brolin's incredible Thanos performance will surely become an iconic one to be remembered. A bit dissapointed with what they did with him in Endgame but Infinty War will cement his performance forever.

Well it hasn’t flopped yet, now has it? Yeah, for some movies, it’s obvious they’ll bomb. Take the new Sonic movie for example, it doesn’t matter how much they change in reshoots; the movie is doomed. The only big name that could honestly save the film is Jim Carrey, and even then we all know he can’t save that horrific nightmare of a film.
However Detective Pikachu has the benefit of Ryan Reynolds, (mostly) great CG variations of its beloved original cartoon characters, and a story that looks decent at best. DP has a chance to make money because Pokémon fans will want to watch it several times to catch all the background easter eggs and some casuals do like to watch films they enjoy twice.
Sorry that was a bit of a rant. I guess to shorten that down in size, DP has a decent chance at making money and it shouldn’t be regarded as a flop when there’s way worse in the coming months.
