On the issue of works in semi, funny in auto, Ive found if the nozzle valve spring is too soft, the valve can actually bounce partially or fully closed and the bolt will cycle itself without sending any gas down the barrel. Its more common with aftermarket metal valves
as ever your 100% right, im using a G&P AND ive trimmed the rocket valve spring, I never use the gun on full auto so it was only when someone else used it that they noticed, but ill have to fix it now! and I just managed to break an ear off my fixed front sight, now looking at the DD one but its soo damn expensive, maybe use my TH-cam earnings in a few months time 😃

There is a product for real steel that fixes the receiver slop called the Accu wedge, obvs be far more durable than hair ties. Some need slight modding to fit perfect so I personally make my own with hot glue, put hot glue in the area the accu wedge would sit, whilst still hot, close and secure your upper and lower wait till its hardens, remove and tidy any flash and boom you have a custom molded cheap Accu wedge.
That's a great idea to be fair. About 3 years ago Alex and me actually each got an accu wedge and tried fitting and modding them but with no luck, the mws receiver is just too out of spec with real steel for it to work I do like your idea tho!! Great cheap workaround.

I've also just bought an MWS with a 370mm Prommy inner, but it is 6.00, so I am not too sure what to expect with that. Any ideas? Thanks for the video, was an interesting watch
The first setup will shoot amazing I guarantee it, that nub and rubber combo is a great one with that barrel. The second may not be quite as good, it'll have the power and range but probably won't be quite as accurate at range. If be interested to see what you find though so let me know!!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft thanks for the response! I might switch the second over to a 370mm 6.03 crazy jet, unless you have another recommendation? Also not sure if I should go for a LayLax/FF strike arm or stick another SixG in it.

Plus as for myself I'd love to know if you guys know what is all compatible with kwa. I personally have a kwa LM4 and am struggling with understanding what is compatible with my rifle as well
Great job with video! Just wondering, should I get a VFC BCM MCMR (or other VFC/GHK GBBR) compared to the TM MWS? I know the MWS has solid performance and reliability but the VFC attracts me bc of the looks and realism (recoil, etc.) and still has great performance/reliability (correct me if I'm wrong). Also the MWS puts me off just bc of the lower FPS out of box (which means I need to upgrade it to shoot hotter) and I just want a gun that shoots well with ought modifications needed. Thanks so much and great job with your videos!
well the MWS was designed to compete on the Airsoft field with AEG's whereas the. VFC is more aimed at being a training tool, all I can say is that ive not had many issues in the last 6 years or so of having my MWS, ive increased the recoil, accuracy and just overall feel of the replica. I think the MWS will always shoot better than the VFC's so for me that gets my vote, I can work on the other parts myself to make it my own, put my test on it, but the internals I want to be solid. for the VFC they've got the externals but the internals need work and that's bothersome.
Mws is kind of its own spec but most places that do a GBBR stock will specify the MWS variant. The MWS is actually real steel spec but the thread is a different pitch, it's a rounded U shape rather than a V shape. I re-threaded mine and put a real BCM buffer tube on it 😂

Some said the "Swiss Arms 110 PSI" would be best. Some others said "just go with Nuprol 2.0 its fine". I feel completely lost, can you advise?
The stock nozzle return spring will likely break if you use higher power gas but I would 100% recommend making this small and cheap upgrade. And then using any kind of green gas or even black/red gas in the MWS, it can take it and it loves the high power gas!

Love the MK18 build, quick question, If I wanted to build something similar is the the CQBR a good base? I’d rather not have to change barrel lengths etc
if you don't want to change the barrel then yes the CQBR is the way forwards. the TM Mk18 rail is a bitch to remove apparently so the CQBR will be your best bet.
@@jakestevenson8676 good question. Yes if you want to have a gas tube, it's not necessary for the gun to work but would be on a real gun so for the look you should have a gas tube and you would need to pick up an after market gas block, there's loads to pick from so get a cool BCM or Daniel Defence repro!!
If your in canada, mws can be a bit harder to find, and slightly less parts availability than WE. The gun comes in way under fps minimums for our country so 1, its hard to import, 2 nobody wants to have too tinker with it too match performance of AEG's. Most airsoft happens in outdoor fields. Oh mws.. i still love mine. Absolutely my favourite gun.❤ Edit: However (as Ollie points out below )its the only gbbr i know of that can run duster gas (winter gbbr!), And wont beat itself to death.
Using a longer inner barrel, having a stiffer rocket valve spring or using a different rocket valve will all up your FPS significantly. ive got some shooting at 1.7J easily but you're right, out of the box they are low for Canada but they do still work in the cold which is important for you guys. ❤️🇨🇦
@@OllieTalksAirsoft thanks for the tips! And yes thats mainly why i bought mine i will admit. All in all i love the system i just want more aftermarket support here in canada lol . Ive found a decent amount of aftermarket parts, there is enough in country for the mws atm. and it doesnt need anything out of the box like my WE m4. (Those need steel trigger box internals to survive) All in all the fact it can run stock on duster perfectly fine , and can be fine tunes to a higher fps, is what make it awesome.
I would normally say yes to Dytac and no to 5KU but the 5KU stuff has got a lot better recently, fit and finish is sometimes a bit meh but for the price it's actually pretty good. Dytac will just e a drop in and good quality. Depends on your budget really but both will work.

@@OllieTalksAirsoft thanks so much! Been playing hpa here in USA but bit the bullet and and a custom MWS gbb wanted the realism. Been watching as many vids of yours trying to find the best upgrades for it!!!
you need the 9mm conversion kit, that's what Alex has. you can get them from WGC shop or JK army still have them I think. so cool, only one mag type for the primary and secondary 😎 they cost about £150 but you get 3 extended GLOCK mags with the kit.
Damn that Alex guy has some mutated rifle like sheesh, it does not even look like a rifle anymore - it looks so front heavy, wondering what that box is on top of his rail that seems to block his optics - it must be something worthy carrying around like that.. Love the TM MWS, but the one that Ollie is using looks so worn, it is cleaning and repainting worthy for sure.. Cheers
Haha yeah they're a bit nuts and Alex is a big fan of mutating his mws's but nevertheless it's a good example of how versatile the MWS really is. You can make pretty much anything that takes an M4 mag out of it and with the 9mm conversion kit and the short bolts you can really go nuts with it. Make something individual 🥳
Hi Ollie, Excellent content keep it up, You've helped me more than you'd realise with my new TM MK18 GBBR, Im Hooked, However mine is chroning at 127 FPS ? Any chance you could give me some pointers to raise the FPS please (Damo, Berkshire Misfit Airsoft)
thanks dude much appreciated, 127FPS is very low, have you done anything internally or is it just stock?, that kind of FPS would indicate a cracked nozzle or something like that if it is stock.
Hi Ollie Thankyou for you quick response 👍🏼 I’ve changed the little return spring on top of the bolt, and the buffer to an MEC green one, that’s all, I’ll chrono again tomoz and check the results, I have green gas moded the mags, except 1, so I’ll try that aswell, both the m4 and mags are kept in the house so being cold should not be a factor. I’ll update you tomorrow, thanks again, very much appreciated.

@@OllieTalksAirsoft legend thank you, will I need to buy a gas block?
@@jakestevenson8676 good question. Yes if you want to have a gas tube, it's not necessary for the gun to work but would be on a real gun so for the look you should have a gas tube and you would need to pick up an after market gas block, there's loads to pick from so get a cool BCM or Daniel Defence repro!!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft great thank you man, I’ll be sure to grab one next time I’m hoarding parts from JK Army 😅
@@jakestevenson8676 🤣🤣 same here dude
If your in canada, mws can be a bit harder to find, and slightly less parts availability than WE.
The gun comes in way under fps minimums for our country so 1, its hard to import, 2 nobody wants to have too tinker with it too match performance of AEG's. Most airsoft happens in outdoor fields.
Oh mws.. i still love mine.
Absolutely my favourite gun.❤
Edit: However (as Ollie points out below )its the only gbbr i know of that can run duster gas (winter gbbr!),
And wont beat itself to death.
All in all i love the system i just want more aftermarket support here in canada lol
. Ive found a decent amount of aftermarket parts, there is enough in country for the mws atm.
and it doesnt need anything out of the box like my WE m4. (Those need steel trigger box internals to survive)
All in all the fact it can run stock on duster perfectly fine , and can be fine tunes to a higher fps, is what make it awesome.
What do you think about the 5KU and DYtac PDW stocks? thanks.
I would normally say yes to Dytac and no to 5KU but the 5KU stuff has got a lot better recently, fit and finish is sometimes a bit meh but for the price it's actually pretty good. Dytac will just e a drop in and good quality. Depends on your budget really but both will work.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft Thank you very much.
Do you know wether the g&p aloy trigger box will accept original sears ive heard it drops in so much easier
I would have thought so as I'm sure I've seen just the box for sale separately before.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft thanks i will have to get one and hope it does, my mws's trigger box is extremely stuck in it took me about 3 hours to get it to drop out caused a bit of damage to the underside of the box aswell just trying to get it out
Hi Ollie, ran my TM MK18 gbbr for the first time today,
I’ve got AEG, HPA etc. but I won’t be going back after using GBBR, semi auto was smooth as silk, full auto not so, each mag, around 10 shoots and it dumped the gas ? I will perceiver 👍🏼👍🏼
It's all about the feel !!!
So you’d suggest for someone in America ordering HK bbs or something to avoid the feed issue of American made BBs?
I'd look for Geoff's or BLS which are more widely available in the US and also have very tight tolerances 👍
@@OllieTalksAirsoft thanks so much! Been playing hpa here in USA but bit the bullet and and a custom MWS gbb wanted the realism. Been watching as many vids of yours trying to find the best upgrades for it!!!
ok now I really want to get a lower reciever that wil fit the TM glock mags, where can I find one?!
you need the 9mm conversion kit, that's what Alex has. you can get them from WGC shop or JK army still have them I think. so cool, only one mag type for the primary and secondary 😎 they cost about £150 but you get 3 extended GLOCK mags with the kit.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft is there for the ar9 kit lower reciver?
Hi Ollie Thankyou for you quick response 👍🏼
I’ve changed the little return spring on top of the bolt, and the buffer to an MEC green one, that’s all, I’ll chrono again tomoz and check the results,
I have green gas moded the mags, except 1, so I’ll try that aswell, both the m4 and mags are kept in the house so being cold should not be a factor.
I’ll update you tomorrow, thanks again, very much appreciated.
yeah let me know how it goes, you may have to re-comment as ive just discovered TH-cam doesn't highlight replies to me!!
Silverback Airsoft makes a silicone gbb flat hop rubber, I've had good results with it.
😭😭😭 i'm going to pretend I didn't read that 🤣 but genuinely thanks for letting me know about it.
Took a bit of fitting but Geissele body pins took all the slop out of my gun 😄
haha I bet it did!!! 🔥
Love those skeleton receivers! May i please get the name/brand of them please? Would try and import one to NZ :)
I think you can only get them from Evike in America, its the F1 Firearms UDR receiver. Its unbelievably cool, although I got serial number 007 😎
@@OllieTalksAirsoft Thanks for the reply!
I had a search and only found the m4 mag receiver. Is there a specific name for the 9mm pistol mag variant?
@@Billy-yy8gq it’s a 9mm Adapter kit for the MWS!
you can get it from JK army or WGC shop I think
@@alexlee8888888888 Thanks!
Link expired :( any chance of a new one? :(
discord.gg/TYCPjg7F6g
Hopefully that works
@OllieTalksAirsoft You probably already know this, but real AR15's tend to have some slack between lower and upper receivers as well. So if you wanna be realistic you can forget the hairbands ;)
Very true! But I do love when it's really solid!!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft I can see why to be honest. By the way your MWS videos have made me seriously thought about getting a MWS and getting (back) to the sport possibly. AEG's just dont do it for me, but it seems GBBR's have gone forward a bit through the years. Good informative videos even for someone like me with close to non-existent current knowledge of airsoft.
did you play at spartan cqb on the 24th?
Yes I did 🥳
@@OllieTalksAirsoft i was on your team i was the kid with the gold dye mask
Yeah I remember, it was a great day, well I had a great day anyway 🥳

Since my house invasion I have no place to make airsoft videos so can't show ya living somewhere new now but have to keep the guns hidden at mums due to this area being a bit.. meh
oh yeah I see your name has changed, yes ive just said to someone else about the omega nub and ML bucking combo. glad to see its getting good results, not so glad to hear about your issues, hope it all works out soon, in time for a shooty summer!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft yeah bro... some mental health problems came from my home invasion... but am back on track now !
