You were incorrect when you said Gogeata wasn't enough to best Shenron. He was overwhelmingly stronger and only changed back because he spent too much time fooling around and ran out the timer.
To be fair it wasn't entirely Gogeta's fault as up until then, the timer had been 30 mins. But the writers needed a way for Goku to win, so they did an asspull and made it 10mins just for him. They also took his wife out to dinner and shot him in the dick off-camera.
Reguardless of wether you think it’s canon or non canon I think we can all agree Dragon Ball games could benefit from GT Content Edit: not saying I personally say it’s canon but I will say some people have tried to tell me they think it’s canon (calm down people)

Dragon Ball super has great animation you just gotta get to the Goku Black arc. The first 2 arcs of the show were made first in movies so the show versions look like crap. DBS the show REALLY starts when the Goku Black arc starts in terms of new seasonal content. Also don’t watch the dub. You might not be a sub type of person, but once you’re used to it you’ll love it.
The Bebi Saga, The Shadow Dragon Saga, and SSJ4 Goku/Vegeta were the most badass things to come out of GT. Also I know people say it's not canon, but I feel it's the natural progression of the storyline.
I think the reason why Goku wasn’t sad about his friends and family being dead at the end of gt was because he knew they were off in other world, and that they were watching over him.
As a kid I remember bringing over a friend to watch some db GT with him. To my surprise I realized that I've always skipped the first few arcs of the Grand Tour because I only watched the good moments like Baby Vegeta, Gogeta and SS4. Everything felt so new and exciting because I hadn't watched that part of the show for a while. That is until the show started dragging and becoming an utter bore. but other than that GT is decent and deserves respect for trying. 6.9/10
it had some really good ideas that I hope do get introdiced into the official story eventually. they kind of are doing it with Granolah (like baby he wants revenge on the saiyans for them destroying his people/planet), ssj4 is awesome and they kind of half way do it with Broly's wrath form. but the best idea GT came up with was the shadow dragons. that is such a great idea and should be in db some day. there should be consequences for over using the dragonballs.
Gt was so good, genuinely laughed at times and actually was sad at times. Had great adventures and interesting villains. Cool new neutral characters and a cool throwback with super 17.

There are quite a few inaccuracies in this breakdown: (1) You said that Piccolo died as a result from his injuries after Baby was defeated. That’s not true. Piccolo chose to stay on the dying earth in order to finally destroy the Black Star Dragonballs for good so that they couldn’t be used again. He wasn’t injured because he hadn’t been fighting. They do show him bleeding just before the planet exploded, but it’s not made clear why exactly. Possibly for dramatic affect (2) During the fight with Super 17, you said that “…in getting the assistance from the ‘good Android 17’, Super 17 ‘Exploded’ and the blast killed Krillin.” That’s FAR from what happened. Krillin was killed by Earth’s Android 17, well before even becoming SUPER 17. Android 17 (under the influence from his evil counterpart) confronted Android 18 and offered for her to join him. When she refused, he killed Krillin. After the two 17s merged, Android 18 (fueled by her pain of losing Krillin) attacked her brother during his fight with SSJ4 Goku. It was during this attack that Goku figured out how to beat 17 and he charged through SUPER 17’s body while he was vulnerable. There was no “good Android 17” at this point 🤨🤨 (3) The first of the Shadow Dragons, was Haze Shenron- NOT Rage Shenron. Rage was second, Ocean was third; making NOVA Shenron the 4th dragon. (4) You referred to SSJ4 Gogeta as “The Legendary Super Saiyan.” Which he is not- Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyan and LSSJ is it’s own transformation that doesn’t involve fusion. You also said that SSJ4 Gogeta was not enough to defeat Syn; which also isn’t true. By the time Goku and Vegeta fused, Syn had already become OMEGA Shenron and Gogeta was whooping his ass. The fusion ran out however and that’s what put Goku and Vegeta at a disadvantage. Overall a decent job compressing the entire show into an 11 min breakdown but, get the facts straight next time.

Man i remember coming home from school i think in 2002 when GT premiered in the UK. Theres something about the artwork in GT that really does hit you with a form of nostalgia you cant ignore
I loved GT. Epic scifi fighting. Just felt like everything I liked in DBZ turned up to 11 with an extra dash of weird and wild designs. DBS never hit right with me, always felt a little too goofy and samey or derivative from Z. GT deserves more love and the dragons and SSJ4 designs are still awesome. Baby too.
the greatest part of Super is the Tournament of Power. the Goku Black/Zamasu saga is dogshit, the bullshit power level scaling and the massive power spike from Goku Black was utterly ridiculous.

"who's gonna watch his family" Goku: loses his son in the woods the very first episode we see him. Even after finding him, his son is instantly kidnapped by his brother he didn't even know existed.
Dragon Ball GT has some positive aspects like SSJ 4 form, 3 good fight Goku vs Baby, Goku vs Super Android 17, Goku vs Omega Shenron, Saiyans-Tuffle history, good character designs, and their clothes. Both Baby and Omega Shenron backstory was really inetresting. Traveling tru the galaxy in the first season was kinda interesting idea. Scaling down some enemies was refreshing to watch. Now for the negative aspects reverting back Goku to a child was a pretty big mistake, not giving Pan SSJ was kinda wasted potential, Bulla needed more development in this series, big part of Super Android 17 saga (until the Super Android 17 fight), and Piccolo death. Overoll this series is not that bad but reverting back Goku to a child was theis show biggest mistake that have turn out so many Dragon Ball fans back in the 90 of 20th century. If they would keep Goku as an adult this show would even continues up to the 100 episodes, we could even get a few movies, and SSJ transformation for Pan (but for SSJ female we had to wait for Dragon Ball Online game, and then even more for Caulifla to achieve SSJ).
With the blackstar dragonball saga I think the wrighters were trying to recapture the adventure style and charm of the original dragon ball. Probably another reason why Goku was a kid.
GT had some interesting plots, but just didn't show it in an interesting way. The Shadow Dragon arc sounds interesting, it's just to bad only 3 of the Dragons are entertaining.

I agree. I'm 40 now, and remember I was in my 20's when GT came out English dubbed. Episode after episode just kept the disappointment going to the point where....I think I watched it all, but maybe passed. I just know almost 30 episodes in, I was so disappointed words can't describe.
I honestly do not remember GT being so short. It felt like ages as a kid lol. I could’ve sworn that Baby Vegeta was after Super 17 because Baby Vegeta to me had me shook lol. I’ve got mad love for GT and for SS4 - one of my favorite transformations, if not, number one favorite. As for the ending, I didn’t remember at all that Goku left for 100 years. That’s a pretty crappy way to end the series because I wanna know what happened in that time on Earth and with Goku/Shenron. It’s driving me crazy just thinking about wasted arcs! 😂

The portuguese versions of dragon ball are always some of the most hilarious things to watch. Many people here still know the catch phrases and most of all most people know the GT song even if they don't even know nothing about DB. It became such a staple in our teenage years that you can hear that in clubs and people will go crazy singing that

This show was a fever dream for me when I was younger. Can only remember fragments of it, especially the Shawdow Dragon Saga, but I hold it fondly to my childhood. Also SS4 was the most aesthetically pleasing form in my opinion
GT gets way too much unnecessary hate imo. It indeed starts kinda weak, but around the "Luud arc" I was already enjoying it very much! And I always really liked Baby as a villain too, he's very underrated.
true. the Baby saga shows perfectly that using someone's body won't make you necessary great on using it. Baby planted some eggs on his Saiyan hosts yet none of them can use those bodies really well to prevent Goku, only the Vegeta vessel got the job done because Vegeta was almost as strong as Goku plus Baby became so strong as well due to him infecting a lot of hosts and absorbing their powers. that's the perfect display of being a host of a strong body won't make you a great user of it, yup, I'm taking shit on Goku Black/Zamasu arc. that was bollocks.
Me too, im going to watch it.. never new what went on after kid bu. i just finished all db and dbz had to rewatch those, to get a fresh perspective on it now as i am older.
Elements of GT could come back in Super which I think would work very well. Some of it did feel like the writers were amateurs but it has undeniable charm for it’s time. Definitely still look back on it fondly.
I appreciate GT for what it was. The potential was there and there was a clear motive to each story arc. But there was poor execution. I wish we could rewrite it and see what it could’ve been.
Yeah GT honestly cool. It lost me at times so it kinda felt like a slog to get through. The only thing I really remember from it was Vegeta's Mustache (which I hated and loved that they poked fun at it in the series) Goku becoming an adult as SSJ4 (which was cool but didn't make a whole lot of sense lol) and my boy Gogeta 4. I agree with what you say. I'd honestly like to see it revisited and see what becomes of it because I really do want to like GT lol
i genuinely enjoyed GT, that being said i'm glad that super came out and the series continues to this day. i've been watching Drangon Ball for over 20 years now & i love it as much today as i did when i was 5 years old.

It is not Canon but I'm just saying that most fans don't consider it Canon but some fans do consider it cannon because at the time of its release it was long before super was even created. So this was looked at as Canon to a lot of people until super came out and basically ignored this entire series
GT had fantastic ideas just poor execution.. I still think that the Theme song, SS4 and the last episode was something done better then Dragonball Super
I liked GT. It kept with the animation. The ideas were amazing and the storylines were awesome. SSJ4 was a bit much at first but I loved it after awhile. The shadow dragons were just amazing. The idea of the Dragon Balls backfiring on the hereos shows originality.
I loved GT it introduced some badass transformations and concepts. The villains are also pretty creative more creative than super in the beginning. I like all of dragonball and because they introduced multiverse theory and alternative time lines during the future trunks arc I enjoy all movies and GT despite not being "canon" because with all the farting around with the time line all content is possible.
10:54 my man. That English version op is so sick. It made the experience 10x better because it fit the aesthetic, and set the mood going into the episode. The verse starts out with "Step into the Grand Tour, a brand new adventure begins" there could not have been a better way to start the song. The whole thing just really works.
That intro was lit! I remember feeling like a badass the first time I heard it as a kid 😂. My favorite intro for GT is the blue water Canadian dub intro

I enjoyed it overall, I think it was a great 1 of those, need to fill the DBZ void series when we went so long without having any kind of DBZ out there series.
The only thing good about GT was the final episode, it was done as a great send off to the franchise. I would like to sew DragonBall finally end like how GT did, with Goku flying off on Shinron finally done defending Earth.
Honestly, the Shadow Dragon Saga is pretty cool, in theory. It makes sense, canonically, fills a glaring plot hole, and gave us a new transformation. Really can't ask much more from a plot standpoint.
the Shadow Dragon Saga is one of the best sagas in all of Dragon Ball. whether it is a canon or not, it is a great saga. Toriyama should adapt that one in the future because it's truly great and very original concept and definitely make sense.
I find myself saying Dragonball needs to consider a more serious approach and the fact that people die and come back to life so easily in Dragonball these days, takes away from its potential as an anime. When people die it’s like “meh”, they’ll just wish em back after Goku does some new power up and wins. But then I remember GT kind of took that serious route and it wasn’t received well. I still stand by this though and I hope they will consider putting more at stake with the series and take away some of that seriousness/darkness from GT and do a better job executing it.
In recent years, most fans started apreciating GT more, especially when compared to Super. The problem GT had was coming out at a time when people were just tired of Dragon Ball (both the manga sales and the anime ratings were on freefall since the beginning of the Boo arc), as you mentioned, the first episode came out just one week after the end of Z. Anyway, I'm just glad its finally starting to get apreciation, maybe Super finally did served a purpose.
I only caught parts of GT when it was broadcast in Canada and after watching Super I've gone back and rewatched GT and still preferred it over Super because I highly disliked some of the decisions in Super (terrible 1 liners that killed scenes and the fact that Blue and Rose are a dumpster fire compared to SSJ4)

Hey, great video! But GT actually means Goku Time, not Grand Tour. Grand Tour became a thing with the Funimation dub of GT, and ig it happened to just become super prevalent. But none the less, very good video. I love GT, it's probably my favorite series of Dragon Ball. It's definitely not perfect, and really, it is worse than DB and Super, but idk, I just love it. I mean, it was my introduction to animated Dragon Ball, so ig I'm super biased

To me, GT was the closest in spirit to the original Dragonball. The animation was great. The focus was more on story. The fighting action was nicely contained, especially after the scathing inconsistencies of DBZ. The terrible price for over-use of dragon balls is reminiscent of very old and wise Taoist philosophy and is echoed by renowned authors like Ursula LeGuin (see her quote about shadows). The SSJ4 transformation itself is gorgeous and far more deeply meaningful compared to ANY other super saiyan transformation. Think about it: Goku was originally sent to destroy/take-over earth, which ironically, even in the return to his most destructive form as an ape- not just as an ape but as a golden ape- which we know already is achieved through experiencing pain of loss- essentially embodied the ultimate evolution of humanity that is possible: the mastering of the ego. The evolution of love from a “need” to a “being”- from emotional to intellectual. From reaction to response. From fracture to unity. GT is so, so underrated. People need to stop comparing it to DBZ. DBZ is great and has lots of cool stories, humour, and uniqueness. It’s just like any superhero franchise. But GT in my opinion is far more innocent and bare.
I absolutely love GT. I started watching from GT, which might be the reason for my love, but also the story of the dragons and overall story was really fun.
Love GT! The whole Dragon ball name aired and got popularity in Europe a few years ahead of when it did in the US. As an American kid who used to travel to both continents, when I first learned about GT, I never even knew about it being non-canon. I had just assumed that it was the natural progression from Z and never even noticed. The characters, namely SSJ4 Goku / Gogeta are badass, the trio of Pan, Trunks and young Goku is unique and clever, with a cool precept, that they have to travel through space to find the black star dragonballs- all of it was great. The ending was tear inducing. Admittedly, having access to this content when I did made me feel ahead of my peers in America, so maybe I am a little biased 😅. Bottom line, canon or not, DB GT will always have a place in my heart. P.s. the theme song ROCKS.

As a kid I remember bringing over a friend to watch some db GT with him. To my surprise I realized that I've always skipped the first few arcs of the Grand Tour because I only watched the good moments like Baby Vegeta, Gogeta and SS4. Everything felt so new and exciting because I hadn't watched that part of the show for a while. That is until the show started dragging and becoming an utter bore. but other than that GT is decent and deserves respect for trying. 6.9/10

it had some really good ideas that I hope do get introdiced into the official story eventually. they kind of are doing it with Granolah (like baby he wants revenge on the saiyans for them destroying his people/planet), ssj4 is awesome and they kind of half way do it with Broly's wrath form. but the best idea GT came up with was the shadow dragons. that is such a great idea and should be in db some day. there should be consequences for over using the dragonballs.
Gt was so good, genuinely laughed at times and actually was sad at times. Had great adventures and interesting villains. Cool new neutral characters and a cool throwback with super 17.

There are quite a few inaccuracies in this breakdown:
(1) You said that Piccolo died as a result from his injuries after Baby was defeated. That’s not true. Piccolo chose to stay on the dying earth in order to finally destroy the Black Star Dragonballs for good so that they couldn’t be used again. He wasn’t injured because he hadn’t been fighting. They do show him bleeding just before the planet exploded, but it’s not made clear why exactly. Possibly for dramatic affect
(2) During the fight with Super 17, you said that “…in getting the assistance from the ‘good Android 17’, Super 17 ‘Exploded’ and the blast killed Krillin.” That’s FAR from what happened. Krillin was killed by Earth’s Android 17, well before even becoming SUPER 17. Android 17 (under the influence from his evil counterpart) confronted Android 18 and offered for her to join him. When she refused, he killed Krillin. After the two 17s merged, Android 18 (fueled by her pain of losing Krillin) attacked her brother during his fight with SSJ4 Goku. It was during this attack that Goku figured out how to beat 17 and he charged through SUPER 17’s body while he was vulnerable. There was no “good Android 17” at this point 🤨🤨
(3) The first of the Shadow Dragons, was Haze Shenron- NOT Rage Shenron. Rage was second, Ocean was third; making NOVA Shenron the 4th dragon.
(4) You referred to SSJ4 Gogeta as “The Legendary Super Saiyan.” Which he is not- Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyan and LSSJ is it’s own transformation that doesn’t involve fusion. You also said that SSJ4 Gogeta was not enough to defeat Syn; which also isn’t true. By the time Goku and Vegeta fused, Syn had already become OMEGA Shenron and Gogeta was whooping his ass. The fusion ran out however and that’s what put Goku and Vegeta at a disadvantage. Overall a decent job compressing the entire show into an 11 min breakdown but, get the facts straight next time.

I loved GT. Epic scifi fighting. Just felt like everything I liked in DBZ turned up to 11 with an extra dash of weird and wild designs. DBS never hit right with me, always felt a little too goofy and samey or derivative from Z. GT deserves more love and the dragons and SSJ4 designs are still awesome. Baby too.

Dragon Ball GT has some positive aspects like SSJ 4 form, 3 good fight Goku vs Baby, Goku vs Super Android 17, Goku vs Omega Shenron, Saiyans-Tuffle history, good character designs, and their clothes. Both Baby and Omega Shenron backstory was really inetresting. Traveling tru the galaxy in the first season was kinda interesting idea. Scaling down some enemies was refreshing to watch.
Now for the negative aspects reverting back Goku to a child was a pretty big mistake, not giving Pan SSJ was kinda wasted potential, Bulla needed more development in this series, big part of Super Android 17 saga (until the Super Android 17 fight), and Piccolo death.
Overoll this series is not that bad but reverting back Goku to a child was theis show biggest mistake that have turn out so many Dragon Ball fans back in the 90 of 20th century.
If they would keep Goku as an adult this show would even continues up to the 100 episodes, we could even get a few movies, and SSJ transformation for Pan (but for SSJ female we had to wait for Dragon Ball Online game, and then even more for Caulifla to achieve SSJ).

SSJ4 was what turned me away from it the most, it looked so ugly.
GT had some interesting plots, but just didn't show it in an interesting way.

I agree. I'm 40 now, and remember I was in my 20's when GT came out English dubbed. Episode after episode just kept the disappointment going to the point where....I think I watched it all, but maybe passed. I just know almost 30 episodes in, I was so disappointed words can't describe.

I honestly do not remember GT being so short. It felt like ages as a kid lol. I could’ve sworn that Baby Vegeta was after Super 17 because Baby Vegeta to me had me shook lol. I’ve got mad love for GT and for SS4 - one of my favorite transformations, if not, number one favorite. As for the ending, I didn’t remember at all that Goku left for 100 years. That’s a pretty crappy way to end the series because I wanna know what happened in that time on Earth and with Goku/Shenron. It’s driving me crazy just thinking about wasted arcs! 😂

Many people here still know the catch phrases and most of all most people know the GT song even if they don't even know nothing about DB. Yeah GT honestly cool. It lost me at times so it kinda felt like a slog to get through. The only thing I really remember from it was Vegeta's Mustache (which I hated and loved that they poked fun at it in the series) Goku becoming an adult as SSJ4 (which was cool but didn't make a whole lot of sense lol) and my boy Gogeta 4. So I’m confused, loved the video. GT is my childhood, but from my knowledge. I was always told that GT wasn’t canon. You say at the beginning that the fans dubbed it not canon if I heard that correctly. So is it or is it not? I’m a little stumped. Again love the video man.
It is not Canon but I'm just saying that most fans don't consider it Canon but some fans do consider it cannon because at the time of its release it was long before super was even created. So this was looked at as Canon to a lot of people until super came out and basically ignored this entire series

I liked GT. It kept with the animation. The ideas were amazing and the storylines were awesome. SSJ4 was a bit much at first but I loved it after awhile. The shadow dragons were just amazing. The idea of the Dragon Balls backfiring on the hereos shows originality.

I loved GT it introduced some badass transformations and concepts. The villains are also pretty creative more creative than super in the beginning. I like all of dragonball and because they introduced multiverse theory and alternative time lines during the future trunks arc I enjoy all movies and GT despite not being "canon" because with all the farting around with the time line all content is possible.

the Shadow Dragon Saga is one of the best sagas in all of Dragon Ball. whether it is a canon or not, it is a great saga. Toriyama should adapt that one in the future because it's truly great and very original concept and definitely make sense.
I find myself saying Dragonball needs to consider a more serious approach and the fact that people die and come back to life so easily in Dragonball these days, takes away from its potential as an anime. When people die it’s like “meh”, they’ll just wish em back after Goku does some new power up and wins. But then I remember GT kind of took that serious route and it wasn’t received well. I still stand by this though and I hope they will consider putting more at stake with the series and take away some of that seriousness/darkness from GT and do a better job executing it.

In recent years, most fans started apreciating GT more, especially when compared to Super.
The problem GT had was coming out at a time when people were just tired of Dragon Ball (both the manga sales and the anime ratings were on freefall since the beginning of the Boo arc), as you mentioned, the first episode came out just one week after the end of Z.
Anyway, I'm just glad its finally starting to get apreciation, maybe Super finally did served a purpose.

I only caught parts of GT when it was broadcast in Canada and after watching Super I've gone back and rewatched GT and still preferred it over Super because I highly disliked some of the decisions in Super (terrible 1 liners that killed scenes and the fact that Blue and Rose are a dumpster fire compared to SSJ4)

Hey, great video! But GT actually means Goku Time, not Grand Tour. Grand Tour became a thing with the Funimation dub of GT, and ig it happened to just become super prevalent. To me, GT was the closest in spirit to the original Dragonball.
The animation was great. The focus was more on story. The fighting action was nicely contained, especially after the scathing inconsistencies of DBZ.
The terrible price for over-use of dragon balls is reminiscent of very old and wise Taoist philosophy and is echoed by renowned authors like Ursula LeGuin (see her quote about shadows).
The SSJ4 transformation itself is gorgeous and far more deeply meaningful compared to ANY other super saiyan transformation. Think about it: Goku was originally sent to destroy/take-over earth, which ironically, even in the return to his most destructive form as an ape- not just as an ape but as a golden ape- which we know already is achieved through experiencing pain of loss- essentially embodied the ultimate evolution of humanity that is possible: the mastering of the ego. The evolution of love from a “need” to a “being”- from emotional to intellectual. From reaction to response. From fracture to unity.
GT is so, so underrated. People need to stop comparing it to DBZ. DBZ is great and has lots of cool stories, humour, and uniqueness. It’s just like any superhero franchise.
But GT in my opinion is far more innocent and bare.
This is the most underrated take on not only the series but the deeper meaning behind Goku's ss4 form. GIVE THIS MAN 1000 Likes !!

Love GT! The whole Dragon ball name aired and got popularity in Europe a few years ahead of when it did in the US. As an American kid who used to travel to both continents, when I first learned about GT, I never even knew about it being non-canon. I had just assumed that it was the natural progression from Z and never even noticed. The characters, namely SSJ4 Goku / Gogeta are badass, the trio of Pan, Trunks and young Goku is unique and clever, with a cool precept, that they have to travel through space to find the black star dragonballs- all of it was great. The ending was tear inducing. Admittedly, having access to this content when I did made me feel ahead of my peers in America, so maybe I am a little biased 😅. Bottom line, canon or not, DB GT will always have a place in my heart. P.s. the theme song ROCKS.
