    Thank you for this video. I have had the FZ2000 for about 4 months now and the more I use it the more I love it. At first I was
    overwhelmed with all the menus and possibilities . This is a very sophisticated machine.and it takes quite some time to understand how to use it , but the video results are fantastic. Apart from the camera store, I am surprised that there are very few professional photo bloggers who have reviewed this camera on TH-cam.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Robaire it's true. The reason in my opinion is that most TH-cam-ers ( there are exceptions) like to overgear themself and they do with a few reasons. They recommend the expensive cameras and lenses because when you buy the expensive cameras using their links they got more commission .That doesn't affect your price obviously, but for them it is better if you buy an expensive camera. Second reason is that they try to look more professional and successful using super expensive gear , although they don't need it. In my opinion knowledge is more important than gear . The third reason is that they are sponsored many times by camera manufacturers , and obviously they want to push us toward the expenciver cameras. What do you think why this full frame sensor stuff is soo blown up ??? 95% of the photographers don't need full frame , still on TH-cam you see many videos where they say that if you are a professional , you need to use full frame . Bull s....t I hope you got my point.

      Thanks for responding so quickly. When the FZ1000 came out in 2014, every one on TH-cam had a review
      on it and the reviews were very positive. It seems now in 2017 that bloggers have become blasé and the FZ2000 is not as important as a GH5 or SonyA9 for them to review. It's a shame because in its category, it
      really is a wonderful piece of gear.

      Bill Robaire definitely agree. It is a wonderful camera , and for the price point you get a lot.

    Great Video - I have 3 x FZ1000 - 2 x Fz2000 and 1 x GH5 and use them professionally for Wedding Videos. I also have Sony AX100, Sony AX53 and Sony A6000- The camera I always turn to is the FZ2000 for Videos and Photos. It punches well above its weight and has never let me down. Love your Videos!

    thanks for the video and well-argumented info, Attila. FZ2000 all the time it is "great for video" yet I want good bird stills as well, and the zoom range that the FZ2000 has suits me fine. I have seen many bird photo's on Flickr FZ2000 site. This plus your argumentations have made me decide to go for the FZ2000

    Quite a few people have mentioned that the FZ2500 produces fuzzier images than the FZ1000 ll and even the original FZ1000. It does have a built in ND filter which the other two lack, however.

      I do think that the FZ1000 and mark ii is kind of better in image quality but when it comes to video, the FZ 2000 is swiping them away. So at the end it depends on your needs.

      If you want to be able to change lenses the Canon M50. And better depth of field control. The fz 2500 is better if you don't have a big budget and you work mostly in good light. Generally speaking the M50 is better. It is a different category.

    Great channel! Have you had any issue with the soft lens on this camera? I've had this camera for almost 6 months now, and I really struggle to get sharp photos. Video is great, but the photos always seems out of focus. Tried all focusing mode, disabled touch screen and you name it. Thanks in advance.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jo Vaagan the truth is that I use this camera for video 90%of the time. Sometimes I do use for photo as well but what I noticed is that the images are softer at the very wide angle and the far zoom end and wide open. But let's not forget that this is a 1 inch sensor camera and it is oriented more for video. In my opinion try to avoid the very wide angle and the far end, and try to stop down a little bit. It looks like you are an image quality freak like myself 😂 😂 😂. But in this case I have to tell you that this is not the best camera for you. If you are more into photography you should consider getting a larger sensor with interchangeable lenses. Unfortunately if you want to stay with this camera, you will have to compromise.

    • @HviteVinger
      @HviteVinger 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply. I had the FZ300 before this, and that lens was sharper. I'm seriously considering changing to the Sony RX10IV, which has seen some excellent reviews. That Sony lens is truly excellent... I do love the FZ2000, since the all-in-one is perfect for my usage. I do fishing and hunting videos, and need portability and reach. A DSLR will need at least two lenses to give me what I want. Too bad Panasonic messed up this otherwise great camera

    I had a fz200 and was planning on buying this camera but I choose G80. The price is similar with a couple of lenses. But I'm really in doubt in everyday use I miss the auto Tele zoom and versatility of fz200.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      vittogol if you plan to get into photography seriously and buy a couple of fast good lens than it worths , but if you have only variable zooms than the FZ2000/2500 is a better option , specially if you shoot a lot of video. If you already purchased the G80 no bother , but you must have a good lens for that camera to shine . What kind of lenses you have???

    • @vittogol
      @vittogol 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blue Sky Photography kitens 18-55 and now 25mm 1.7

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      vittogol both lenses are good for landscape or general use, but if you want telephoto I would recommend the Olympus 40-150f2.8 (which will be actually 80-300f2.8 ) I know it is expensive but that's the disadvantage of interchangeable lens cameras . But again if you are hobbyist what I would do is keep the G80 for photography and but an FZ2000 for video and telephoto . With the money you buy a good telephoto lens, you can buy the FZ2000. You can also buy a variable aperture zoom lens, but the image quality unfortunately it will not be the same . With interchangeable lens cameras the lens is actually more important than the camera body . This is my opinion, but at the end of the day it's your decision, because you know what kind of photography are you into what's your budget etc. But either way remember , enjoy the camera and use it, that's the most important think.

    • @vittogol
      @vittogol 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blue Sky Photography I agree with you but I took g80 primarily for video. I consider it better because I can get a more cinematic style video. I will use it more next weeks and understand if it's ok with its IBIS or I need to go back to the fz world.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      vittogol is true , you can get cinematic look specially if you shoot with a speedbooster and the Sigma f1.8 zooms . Many videographers will use those lenses with speedbooster on GH5 and GH4 . It will cost you some money but the results are brilliant .

    I am undecided whether to buy a Panasonic Fz2500 / 2500 or a Rx10M4 :( I do filming of distant subjects, such as birds, athletes and I would not want the car to go out of focus when I'm on the subject, which you advise me?

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcellinobono Si in my opinion the FZ 2500 is more video oriented, the Sony is a better photo camera, although both have 1 inch sensor. The auto focus is better on the Sony, not much better but a little bit better. I think that you have to decide yourself what do you need from the specs of each camera and what is more important to you. If only the autofocus, buy the Sony but there are disadvantages as well. All in all the Panasonic is a bit better for video but as I said you know what you need. At the end of the day both will do the job just one is a bit better than the other.

    I had an FZ1000, a GH4 and a6300. The FZ1000 is for sports and travel. The a6300 for community and family events. I stopped using the GH4 as it wasn't as convenient like the FZ nor cinematic like the a6300. Unfortunately, I dropped the FZ1000 by accident on concrete so that was the end of that. I looked into the FZ2500 as well as the RX10m3. I went with the RX10m3 for these reasons:
    1. no cropping in 4K so 24-600 is essentially 24-600
    2. 6K sensor downscales into 4k so all the details are there
    3. super sharp lens from 24mm all the way to 600mm.
    All the other features like swivel and touch screen I didn't care for. So for the extra $200, I paid $68 for each of those three features that were worth it to me.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      poman911 the RX10 Mark III is a great camera . I think that the difference between the FZ2000/2500 and the RX10 Mark III is negligible . It's only about personal preference. The example for me the unlimited recording time , the in built ND filter, and Panasonic's trustable reputation was more important . I had 3 SONY cameras (a7R, a7ii , and a6000 ) and unfortunately I got a lot of trouble with them . That doesn't mean that Sony cameras are bad , but I think that every photographer can agree that the consistency of the Sony cameras are all over the place. So because I had this bad experience with them, that's why I choosed Panasonic. Plus in my opinion the Sony RX10 Mark III is a fantastic photo oriented camera with great video capabilities, but the Panasonic FZ2000 is a fantastic video camera with great photo capabilities . I think you get my point. But as I said it is about personal preference.

      The truth is that I am pretty new to video as well and I never used this camera with an external recorder or video mixer. I presume that you can set the output to 1080p because as I know the camera has clean HDMI output in 4k so it would be ridiculous not to be able to set to 1080p . Yoyo K I use mostly on tripod or monopod. The 5 axis optical image stabilization is not working in 4k only in 1080p. In my opinion the 1080p footage is very good handheld but if you don't have very steady hands don't try the 4k. In general it is a very good video camera but if you want handheld 4k I would recommend a gimbal.

      Yoyo K for the same money you can get a G85/G80 with a 16-100 kit lens. That camera has a much better IBIS and the sensor is bigger as well. For a starter camera I would recommend that one before this one. This is a very capable camera but you have to be advanced in video to get all it's capabilities. Don't get me wrong but for those kind of videos you have on your channel, the G85 /G80 is a much better solution. But that's my opinion anyway. The decision is yours to make.

    What made you choose the FZ2000 instead of the GH5?

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +David Morrah the GH5 is better in every aspect but it is also a lot expenciver when you calculate the camera and the lenses you need. I use APS-C sensor for my photography work, and for my videos the FZ2000 is more than enough . I don't need cinematic look or shallow depth of field in my videos . So that was the reason . I paid 1250€ for the FZ2000 and the GH5 alone is 2000€ plus lenses . If I could use the same system for video and photo I would buy the GH5 . But because it has micro four thirds sensor, I don't want smaller sensor than APS-C for photos .

    • @red2000films
      @red2000films 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my country, we have the FZ2500. I think you made a great review. It is a good camera. I have a Canon XC10, which is also a 1 inch sensor video camera. It is very similar to the FZ2000, but it doesn't have a flip out screen, so I am considering the FZ2500 as I need a camera with a flip out screen for blogging. Personally, with the GH5, I don't think there is much difference at all between APS-C and Micro 4/3. Full frame cameras have superior shallow depth of field, but I haven't seen any difference in shallow depth of field between APS-C vs Micro 4/3.

    • @BlueSkyPhotography
      @BlueSkyPhotography  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Morrah it depends how you approach the question. If I say that APS-C sensors are 1 stop lower depth of field-vise from full frame . It means if I put a 1 stop faster glass on my APS-C sensor , the depth of field will be the same like on a full frame camera. And this is kind of doable because I can find that kind of glass . But the micro four thirds sensor is 2 stops difference , and that is kind of impossible to balance up with faster glass. Let's say you use a 85mm f1.4 on FF , I use a 85mm f1.2 lens on APS-C , the field of view will be narrower on the APS-C but the depth of field will be the same like on the full frame.
      So if you compare the APS-C with the micro four thirds , you are kind of right . There is no big difference between them , but if you compare with the FF and the possibility of balancing up the difference , well that's a different story . I hope you understand what I mean.

    • @red2000films
      @red2000films 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This reviewer did a shallow DOF test and saw that the FF had the best shallow DOF, while the APS-C and M43 were not as pronounced but still fairly similar: www.stevehuffphoto.com/2015/02/23/mirrorless-battle-micro-43-vs-aps-c-vs-full-frame/ Have a great day :-)

      @BlueSkyPhotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      au1947 unfortunately I don't exactly now how much crop in but there is a little bit cropping in. Not too much though. You can find that in the specifications I suppose. It's not that bad because as you can see in the example footage, I hold the camera in my hands at the widest mm range which is 24mm (plus the crop in 4k) so it's kind of 32mm in my opinion.
      But I'm still able to shoot vlogging style no problem.
      The image stabilization is not working in 4k only electronic stabilization. But it works in 1080 p very well . But honestly I couldn't find any information anywhere about this. I saw one video on TH-cam and I tried myself but nowhere official.
      So I don't have any scientific evidence but that's what I suspect after trying and testing.
