From what I have seen in other videos, strength and weather "proofness" comes from a few layers of outdoor paint :)! Thanks for the info!

Looks great. Don't worry about the imperfection. Just finish it and go travelling. I didn't even bother sanding it when I built my popup roof using PMF method.
