- We all love Disney! We all grew up with Disney! Disney, Disney, Disney! Heck, my wife thinks she's a real-life Disney Princess! That said, I might be sleeping on the sofa tonight because I'm about to share what I believe are the five most overrated Disney films. This is going to be a controversial list, so get ready for some spirited conversation! Let me know what you think of my picks and share your own in the comments below!

The Sword in the Stone isn't rally considered Disney's greatest really. It isn't even that popular.

The Sword in the Stone is hardly overrated. Many people don't even like it that much. The most overrated is definitely Frozen. It's fine, but they completely went way over the top with the hype and even went as far with saying it was the best animated Disney film since The Lion King. Really?! What about Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Zootopia, Wreck it Ralph and Winnie the Pooh 2011 which are far superior films?
Speaking of which, I also think The Lion King is overrated aswell. Not as much as Frozen, but still overrated especially considering it kind of plagiarised Kimba the White Lion.
Technically, it didn't. There was a Kimba movie that was suspiciously similar to the Lion King, yes, but it came out AFTER the Lion King.
Also, the original show was pretty much it's own thing, with entirely different messages and general philosophies from the Lion King.
This is a common misconception. No worries.
Toy Story 3 is by far the best Toy Story movie, also the video was great keep up the great work and you’ll get success on TH-cam most definitely.
I kinda agree with all of these being overrated. Sword in the Stone takes forever to get to the actual sword in the stone, Brave was advertised as more of an adventure and wasn't, Zootopia is a good movie, but it's twist villain was poorly exicuted, Toy Story 3 could have been a good ending but they kept going, and Aladdin I face palm since he over complicates through lying. Aladdin, more like A liar. At least with Eugene and Rapunzel, the lies are cleared up before the movie's climax.
Toy Story 3 - I think the film is a good film onto itself, but extending the series beyond Andy intially was weird. I think Lotso is the most evil of the villians Pixar had a chance to create for Toy Story.
The Sword in the Stone - This one took me a long time to enjoy. Had the misfortune of watching the film at a daycare frequently. While the songs and characters are all right, this isn't my favorite of Walt's output either - higher appreciation of Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty over this one, but still have attachment regarding a porcelain musical figurine that represents the film and its characters.
Zootopia - I don't know which I'd pick overall. Zootopia and Moana both introduce their worlds well enough with care, that I feel they are worthy additions to a collection.
Brave - I re-watched a bit before enjoying it. Not a huge Pixar hit, but Merida's grown on me over time.
Aladdin - Robin adds warmth and heart, but he's not the only aspect that I enjoy. The genie is a supporting player, the other characters carry the film over the genie. I do think Robin's input adds a lot to the film, but I consider everyone else's input as well. Jafar and Iago are still one of my favorite evil duos.
Are these overrated - Aladdin is the only one among the five you've listed that I have nostalgia for, and I find with frequent rotation of films i don't get bored overall.
Point taken on Aladdin. Would it be as good without him? Well, assuming they got someone else to voice the Genie, as opposed to writing out the character entirely... yes, I think the movie could be "as good", depending on who the new actor was. And then you'd be asking the same question about that actor instead. But assuming we just cut the genie from the film outright... I think it still has a lot left to carry it, from the music to the classic art style and animation, and of course an unforgettable voice cast. It's less of an individual movie, in my opinion, and more a symbol of a golden era for Disney.
Didn't watch Brave, but based on the synopsis and general word of mouth, I find Merida insufferable. Now, if I did watch the movie, maybe I'd change my mind, but the general vibe I get from the movie is just off-putting, so I doubt I'd watch it unless someone I knew wanted to share it with me.
I don't know what people say about Sword and the Stone, so I can't really judge whether it's overrated or not. I personally think it's a great obscure gem from a classic period of Disney. You have a lighthearted retelling of King Arthur's younger days, with a ton of great Easter Eggs referencing the legends of Camelot that are as yet in his distant future, very charming artwork and animation all around. BUT... the plot does tend to drag in places. The high point of the movie, for me, was Merlin's duel with Madame Mim, and I think that should have served as the climax (or been cut from the movie outright), because after that... the tournament scene is just kind of boring. So I think it's fair to say the movie had a ton of charm, but the plotline needed some refining before it was released.
Aladdin is my favorite movie, not just because of robbin Williams... but I know for a fact that he added his soul into the movie ... I can't even imagine the character without him ... 💔
I agree with you regarding Toy Story. Toy Story 3 was great, but they should have stopped there. Frankly I hated Toy Story 4. How dare they take everything established in the first 3 movies and just cast it aside. 1) You stay with your kid, you are there for them to play with 2) You stand by your friends. You don't abandon them for some side chick you barely were seen with in the first movie and never since. Sword in the Stone is an ok movie, but if you read the BOOK it was based on (Written by T.H. White in 1938) it's so much better. Disagree on Zootopia, I thought it was great. I'm not a big fan of Moana, it's "ok". It does have some cool songs though. Disagree on Brave, I love Brave and it's one of my favorite movies. And it's unfair to say "What would Aladdin be without Robin Williams?" because Robin Williams was part of Aladdin. That was a choice made by Disney, they chose HIM to be the voice of Genie. So saying what if he wasn't in it, wouldn't it suck, isn't realistic because he was in fact part of it. But you forgot to mention what a detestable piece of crap FROZEN is, which in my opinion is basically a story about a spoiled princess throwing a tantrum and freezing everything with her magical powers to get even. Only watched it once, and will not be watching it again.
The point of Brave is to break the "Princess needing a prince to save her" trope. It wasn't meant to be deep or complicated. Yes the "other" moral is being kind and patient with your family members is a good thing but the main point is that girls can do whatever they want, with or without the help of a man.
Autofocus will often fail if your background is a flat surface and your subject is off center.
For me, the most overrated disney film is The Lion King. What is the moral of the Lion King? That apartheid and the divine right of kings are sound policies?
Underrated Disney films would be Robin Hood, The Rescuers Down Under and The Fox and the Hound
I totally agree with Brave. All of my family feels this way. The only thing I got from this was that Merida was terrible to her mom. I don’t see anything brave about it.
I agree with all of these except for Brave, Brave is phenomenal, and actually underrated in my opinion, oh and Zootopia is also as amazing and everyone says it is

I can’t stand Toy Story 3. I also found it unnecessary and all it did was copy the plot of the first two film. Toy Story 3 felt very tonally inconsistent to me.
In the Dutch version Pierre Bokma was a brilliant as Robin Williams. And I don't agree with your opinion on this movie I really enjoyed it. That parrot ......!
It should not be Toy Story 3 but 4 the one You consider overrated
Sword in the stone it shows that even if you don't have a family to show You the way through life but a good teacher (that is Merlin)

Aladdin well it is a Classic and it's a childrens' story and for us adults Robin Williams was the whole movie

i watched aladdin always in german so i never had robin williams and ... yes its still the best animated movie i ever watched 10/10 :) i didnt care much about the djini he doesnt rank high in my favorite characters of the movie i love aladdin and Jasmin and Jago and ... its just the best animated movie of all time end of story xD
