This timer might fix a major problem of the G4 timers- you might accidentally press the reset or power button when stopping the timer, which has caused a lot of problems in the past, such as at 2017 worlds. The reset and power button on the sides might help avoid that.
As a cube enthusiast beginner I'm still figuring out if speed solving is something I wanna dive into. So far I really like unorthodox cube variants, but then again I have only one of those. Wether I will pick up speed cubing or not, I really appreciate this review style. Plain and simple, laying out positive and negative aspects in a fast manner. Thanks.
The only thing I don't like about the pocket timer is that it requires the same amount of "table space" as the regular timer to actually use. So, it's portable to carry around, but kinda requires the same space to use it. Especially when on the go, I don't always solve cubes over a table or flat surface. Oh, well. Maybe if my Speedstacks breaks on me. It's always nice to have options.
I'm sure they could make the large timer more compact or even foldable, I have never taken one apart but I'm guessing it's just a battery pack, a small circuit board and some wires going to the hand pads which could rout through a folding mechanism to possibly make it the same size as the inferred timer, just a thought tho

At 7.50, Cameron has the string on the right hand side of the timer which is interfering the Infrared Rays causing the timer to start

Exactly what i thought! Hope the g5 finally fix this problem or we switch to these once we can go back to tournaments

The YJ pocket timer is SO GOOD. I really recommend it, but first make sure that you know what the buttons do, unlike I did.
