JP win ratio probably only slightly skewed because you had 137 matches prior to getting to diamond. By the time you got to diamond, you were already comfortable with the character enough to body everybody. Regardless, good stuff as usual.
I mean JP IS the final boss (Of World Tour, Arcade and much more) I just need to learn him better he is a sophisticated character but the way he functions including his personality causes the hatred of him to rise sharply. My main issue at the moment with JP is trying to master his keep away style and anti airs in a game that is very centric on opponents getting in if you can get good at keeping opponents away he thrives I haven't got to that point.
One thing that may help is practicing his normals. Ideally, you want to keep people at full screen, but strong opponents will inevitably get past your zoning and start pressuring you. Taking the time to do "no jumping no specials, normals only" practice with a friend can help a lot with knowing what tools you have to fend off aggression, and since you can string a lot of your hit confirms into a QCF P, reset back to the full screen neutral you'll thrive in.
Yeah this confirms it I need to learn JP period to complete the storyline of World Tour and get to at least Silver or Gold on him the "World Tour Journey" won't be complete until I do that. JP is a fascinating character to do this with though who has a lot of lore to go with him granted his lore is evil but I can make it work.
I've been steadily improving my JP as well. I gotta step up my OD Amensia pickups but I've been doing that Level 2 combo you showed at the start and MAN has it been useful against opponents with 3 or 4 bars of drive left!!
😃Jp makes a great weapons category opponent. Jp vs lily and blanka are always the best matches to enjoy. Dhalsim is an enjoyable match against jp also. A.k.i. is going to be a new edition to the pile, and a wonderful relief for the weapons matchup, since she does alot with her claws just like blanka does. Her and lily should be a neat pair of a match as well😢
You cut out the lower rank games for JP but what if you showcased the entire journey from bottom to top for viewers of all different levels… maybe with AKI?
really quick i wanted to say that as a gief/Marisa main who is picking up jp, Despite being called "broken" hes still a pretty fair character. Other than a few fuzzies he can hit you with he is really good at range but once you get into "grappler range" he falls pretty easily. Good Game Capcom
People just love to walk forward all the time with no thought and block with their face. Im talking regular neutral here, so its no wonder everyone in the fgc hates zoners XD. Just remember: be glad you dont have to deal with a real zoner like Peacock.
JP is not broken. But he has a lot of stuff that is unnecessarily overpowered and deserves to be nerfed. I mean look at OD Spire into CA3 damage. For every other character in the game they have special damage scaling rules to regulate conversions like that. There is no reason for there not to be damage scaling applied to reduce the damage here. This is just one example but a lot of his combo conversions do unnecessarily high damage like this. I mean he is already sending you full screen to set up his amazing zoning. It could do zero damage and just the positioning is already worth it, but nope, you take like 3500 just for accidentally tripping into his bullet hell.
with all the jp hate, changing what you consider his winrate statistics to be far higher than the other amounts by calculating it differently than any other character, seems pretty manipulative and biased
He didn't bother learning the character until diamond. His win rate should have gone down in diamond but instead it sky rocketed. It makes sense to take the higher win rate
I wouldnt call JP a broken character, just a unestablished one.. hes new to the whole franchise.. What i would call JP is boring to play against depending who your main is.

He's not broken, a lot of people just suck at playing against zoners so they keep getting hit while getting close so the majority of the complaining stems from there. But a JP player that practices A LOT is scary, he has so many nasty setups and combos it's insane
@@123armyoftwo I main Zangief and I have yet to be convinced that JP is well and truly broken. I dread matches with JP but I always assume that I had a chance and failed. It feels disrespectful to blame a character and ignore the hard work a player put into learning that character. There are some truly broken characters in some fighting games for sure. JP is close to broken but he is still beatable imo.

Everyone hates on JP because he's strong but at least hes fun to fight. Cammy is also strong and not fun at all, modern chun, modern luke, heck even honda is an absolute misery. I'd rather strong but fun to fight characters over strong and tedious any day or even weak and tedious.

If he did a playthrough of headbutt only Honda and then started trying Honda for real I wouldn't dog him for resetting the win rate.
