Futurama was one of the early adopters of combining 2-D animated characters with 3-D ships, but I really like the style of the final render in this clip. It looks more cohesive rather than 2 styles superimposed.
I think that's the trickiest part, to make both techniques cohesive. Maybe the lack of colors and that it's just one shot (instead of thousands like series/films) help since there are fewer points of comparison 🤔
So fun to see! I'm working through Blender with 2D animation. Learning as I go, so fun though! I'm close to finalizing a 2D paper sketch node template thanks to my tutor. Will share soon. th-cam.com/users/shorts5DHPQRI2EMQ?si=0V25XieJYjzUeelM th-cam.com/users/shortsZIlpvJg-06Y?si=v2RDZeOMzzUnKGXF

You enjoy as you learn, that's the spirit!
Yeah! Otherwise I may have given up already hahah
That's inspiring, it helps a lot to understand how to mix 2D and 3D, thank you!
Happy to hear that!

Looks great! I can see its potential!
That's looks great 😻 How much time it took?
I think I worked on it daily for like 2-3 hours during a week 🤔 but the experimenting with the plugin took like half the time haha
