Right now I’m using 100% cotton 300 grams, paper pads from Baohong brand. They are good enough for an affordable price. I’ve tried more expensive like Arches but I’m still not confident to spend the money 😅

Thank you! I’ve done inktober before with simpler materials, I guess I kinda know what to do to make it possible. This one took around 2 hrs, but I noticed that the time increases with the size of the paper, not so much with the content! The other paintings half the size take about 1 hour.

The general technique is going from light to dark colors, and with basic color theory you can mix and blend them. You can also use a separate paper to test your colors and modify them until you like them. But to be honest I experiment a lot and make tons of mistakes, you can somewhat fix them with more water.

Uve definitely not seen older disney animations, all u just haven't observed them enough

I think that's the trickiest part, to make both techniques cohesive. Maybe the lack of colors and that it's just one shot (instead of thousands like series/films) help since there are fewer points of comparison 🤔

I think I worked on it daily for like 2-3 hours during a week 🤔 but the experimenting with the plugin took like half the time haha

I will make a video on this! But in short: Complex actions take more time, like a run or a dance vs. a simple head turn, or a lot of cuts are a still drawing with characters not moving, for example, that’s quick. And also shots showing the full body instead of close ups are more difficult in my opinion. Oh and in anime the animator does the background sketch too, that add a lot of butt hours.

The best way for foreigners is to continuously post on Twitter, and wait for producers to find you. You can be more active and say that you’re looking for work. I did send to a Japanese recruiting email one time, but they didn’t reply. And later I heard an animator saying that they won’t reply if you’re a foreigner and better use Twitter and social media. But I guess you could try sending it to studios, especially the small ones, it could work.
