*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
When you look at frames and parts from the day, you can see that along with ensuring functionality was at the top of their scope, so was beauty. They incorporated aesthetics so importantly along with everything else. Every line, curve, hole, cut has been carefully considered for visual beauty and flow.
All the shiny bits and pieces that you are seeing on a restored bicycle don't stay that way. They just look pretty if you never really use the bike. There is a reason that all bikes went to anodizing with black colors. I spent many hours of my youth shining my bicycle. Todays children don't even know how to do it.
That "Super Record" groupset is a thing of beauty. NOTHING these days looks as good. All this 'black finish' crap looks horrible. The lovely finish of a polished and anodised piece of alloy looks so much more attractive, and it stays looking that way for much longer.
I completely agree with you, however I'm limited on what I can use. Eventually I would like to run an ad on the videos, but most songs will prevent me from doing so. Do you have a recommendation? Thanks for commenting
Sweet ride. Beautiful restoration. I have an nineteen eighty five Pinarelllo. Ironman bike mt. Ventoux etc. We gave seen a lot of miles. Randonneur twelve hundred km to name a few. On a Cervelo these days. Cheers,
Nice but......... 1/ Should be TA bottle cages 2/ ,, ,, Alfredo Binda Extra toe straps 3/ ,, ,, Sliver free wheel, am sure you could get them then 4/ Quick releases should be parallel with forks and rear stays 5/ Saddle far to forward 6/ Brake cables FAR to long............. 7/ Handle bar tape with Cinelli tape pointless. Electrical tape pulled tight is what's needed. 8/ Chorus pedals totally wrong decade......... I Know as I was around then racing and did my own mechanics....😀🚲 Happy Days

It's the details that matter not just putting the bike together, the proportions of saddle height and stem length have too look right as well. Just look at the old videos of Tour de France etc to confirm what am saying. Bikes like these are a work of art and need to be treated as such. 👍☺
Just can't beat the old style frames with the crome,beautiful I once had a Concorde road bike with crome forks & chain stays..she gleamed in the sun..bikes nowadays r so far removed from those days everything is painted or just black even groupsets which I don't get.makes things look cheap..

I think you’re correct. Its frame and forks look exactly like my 1986 DeRosa Super Prestige. I wonder if there was any difference in price between the DeRosa and DeRosa-built Merckx frames.

I was wondering myself. I have an '85 that I bought brand new. Mine, and all the ones I remember from that time had sloping fork crowns. This bike has a flat crown, which I believe they did offer on another model.
