The main reason you are successful Gary is that you have a great down-to-earth character, with no bullshit, that we can all identify with and on top of that you are just a bloody nice bloke!
Gary’s channel works because he comes across as an incredibly nice guy and he approaches each restaurant/meal with an everyman /relatable approach. Sometimes you just want that without the bells, whistles and showmanship. You feel he’s enormously honest as well. Keep on keeping on Gary, thank you :)

Hi from Ontario Canada again, my Dad used to say 'had my ears lowered' and as kids we thought it was just silly Dad. Now I'd give anything to hear him say it again. Thanks for another fantastic video Gary. You make me think of all the places that he used to talk about and all the British food he loved. He was born in a London hospital that's no longer there and flew in the Royal air force in WW2 and settled in Canada. No matter where he went, England was his home. He'd be right here with me enjoying your wonderful sense of humour if he was still here. You do more than review food and restaurants. You make people happy. Cheers.
Yes, Gary finally indulges in our Jamaican delights. You need to go deffo go Sabina Park for a game as the vibe and atmosphere is insane. Advise if you go ever to Jamaica, please venture outside Montego Bay (tourist area) so you get to see the real life of Jamaica i.e Portland, St Thomas, Port Royal. The food never dissapoints. ps. You need to try Ackee & saltfish and patties (like cornish pasty).
Ackee and saltfish is great! I worked with many Jamaicans in South London, and a few are lifelong friends. I wish I had visited Jamaica. I would not have gone to Montego Bay. Should have taken Claire, but she had her man at the time, or Rastaman Jimbo. My late brother adopted him for a son. I've been to Barbados twice, and Antigua, but I'm too old to go back to the Caribbean to end my days!

Went to Turtle bay Bristol on Good Friday. The jerk chicken and slaw with fries was my choice. Considering it was packed the waitress was spot on, and the food arrived in about 15 minutes. Enjoyed it. Spicy.
Hi Gary, been to Turtle Bay and we really liked it, we had the Jerk platter and a few beers, it was really nice, we were extremely surprised as we weren't expecting such high quality from a chain restaurant. Especially enjoyed the chicken and the sausages, not too much of fan of ribs, but the wife loved them, but couldn't finish them. We gave it an 8 out of 10. Well Done on hitting 90K subscribers Gary! ...and it was great to see you enjoying Jamaican food! (My stepdad was from Jamaica!)...NEVER refer to that rice dish as 'Rice with Kidney Beans'!!!...It is Rice and Peas!!!... and such a shame you were driving...Goat Curry NEEDS a can or Red Stripe Beer (or 2 cans??!!!)..Maybe next time try a 'Rundown' (stew) or some Salt Fish and Ackee... and who knows, if you are close enough to walk home, the a slurp of overproof rum to wash it all down!!!!
And the ackee always comes first. Ackee and saltfish, never saltfish and ackee. Lol Like how we would never say chips and fish. Always fish and chips. Both my parents are of Caribbean descent.

Great review again. I was very lucky as a child back in the mid 60's. We grew up on a Road in SW London. Robinson Road. Irish, English, Jamaican, Indian, Italian, Pakistani, Spanish, Chinese. That has brought me back to those days. We were spoilt with different cuisines. Hence me following food reviews😂😂😂❤
Another great review. I had never heard of Turtle Bay till your review. Thought the platter looked excellent and made Nando’s chicken look like a sparrow. Thanks for always finding new places to review

Had quite a few Turtle Bay visits whilst working in Liverpool. Yes its a chain but I think your score of 8/10 is spot on .Lovely food and they serve Red Stripe on draft which is a real bonus. Thanks again Gary, great review
Wow that looked fantastic and will give it a go, the whole meal brought back alot of memories as I was lucky enough to do that adventure on your bucket list and visited the Carribean to follow the england Cricket tour in 94, one of the highlights of the Test Matches there is the little stalls behind the grandstands manned by locals cooking fresh Goat Curries (very aromatic) and more locals with machetes preparing fresh coconuts and pineapples. Sorry to waffle but that stream brought the memories back.
there was a little cafe at Island gardens , Isle of dogs , Jamaican food and a goat curry to die for. They pulled it down 5 years ago and made a bigger place , hasnt been occupied since , someone didnt understand that big isnt always better
Turtle Bay in Exeter is fantastic. Exeter University students love it, as the cocktails are 2 for 1 at certain times which makes it great value. Vegan Jerk Chicken with coconut rice and peas is only £14.50. Superb value for money, catering for all dietary requirement, fun atmosphere and lovely staff.

Thank you so much Wendy
🤣🤣🤣 and never call curry goat, goat curry. We don't do that either.
And the ackee always comes first. Ackee and saltfish, never saltfish and ackee. Lol Like how we would never say chips and fish. Always fish and chips. Both my parents are of Caribbean descent.
I really enjoy your videos, Gary, they are very informative.
Thank you very much
Oh Gary, your new haircut shaves 10 years off you! 😊
I wish! lol thank you

Turtle Bay was a glorious experience Gary. Fabulous food and portions. Many thanks for sharing with us, much appreciated as I’m sure you enjoyed. Agree with your score as well. See you soon 👍👍👍
Thank yo as always Andreas, hope you are doing well
@@GaryEats About to start an IV infusion treatment at Birmingham Neurological Hospital tomorrow. Hopefully this will help to slow the progress of my MS and hopefully longer periods of remission. This post has certainly given me a boost. Thank you again Gary 👍👍👍
Hi Gary, I just wanted to say thankyou mate. Work is super busy at the moment and I genuinely look forward to seeing your next video pop up - such a genuine nice guy, very refreshing. Keep being you, you are going to be MASSIVE. PS - chips are chips!
Thank you so much. I really hope you are doing well
Turtle Bay is not authentic Caribbean food :(. Definitely check out the smaller places for the real deal, affordable and bigger portions - A Caribbean person :)
I understand your point completely and I will in the future
Lucky to have a carribean mum, she will cook a big pot of curried goat on a sunday. Such a treat. Great video 👍
Sounds amazing 🤩
Even as a vegetarian there's usually something you have that appeals to me visually.
This is probably the first time I haven't felt that.
I'm also vegetarian (mostly vegan), but I do love watching Gary's reviews too.
Sorry about that Rosie
@@GaryEats It's ok Gary, just a cuisine that doesn't appeal.
@@siobhanblake9150 Yes they're great 🙂
Fantastic review as always Gary. Food looks fantastic mate. Keep up the great videos and congratulations on 90K subscribers. Superb food review channel, keep up the great work.
Thank you for your lovely comment as always Jack, take care
I am starving!!!
I don’t usually go for something Carribean but this has definitely changed my mind. Looks delicious!
I have to say it’s a very good chain as the food is very tasty
Hey Gary, thanks for another great review. Congrats on 90k mate!
Thank you for your lovely comment Tris and take care
Great review again. I was very lucky as a child back in the mid 60's. We grew up on a Road in SW London. Robinson Road. Irish, English, Jamaican, Indian, Italian, Pakistani, Spanish, Chinese. That has brought me back to those days. We were spoilt with different cuisines. Hence me following food reviews😂😂😂❤
Oh yes, lots of cuisines in London we are very lucky. Thanks David
Love the way you mix it up with all different cuisines Gar
Thank you Jason that’s appreciated
Another great review. I had never heard of Turtle Bay till your review. Thought the platter looked excellent and made Nando’s chicken look like a sparrow. Thanks for always finding new places to review
Thanks Martin, it was pretty good and thank you
I must say Gary you’re spot on with your reviews and another thing you never push people to subscribe to your channel as do some of the others on here first thing they say is subscribe it’s free they really are desperate for money unbelievable got that off my chest good luck
Thank you for the excellent comment as always, are you still doing the channel?

Go to Barbados for two weeks every March ,local Caribbean restaurant close to us in Holetown is Just Grillin fantastic food at incredible prices coupled with a few Banks beers. Fantastic videos Gary, keep em coming as we look out for them🇧🇧
That sounds perfect Terry wow and thank you
Had quite a few Turtle Bay visits whilst working in Liverpool. Yes its a chain but I think your score of 8/10 is spot on .Lovely food and they serve Red Stripe on draft which is a real bonus. Thanks again Gary, great review
Nice one, thank you
Never seen Caribeann food 😳 love the decor too Omg 😲 😍 looks wonderful what a feast! It looks very tropical Gary ❤
This is a very popular chain, Helen 🌹
Congratulations on the 90K + subs Gary: it's well deserved.
Thank you for your kind comment
Can’t wait for the 100k subscriber special Gary, it’s bound to be a belter!!!!
I will have to get thinking soon!!
@@GaryEatshey up mate when youse hit the 100 think you should film the poor wretch trying to eat if he can still remember how
And you can buy the sauces too!! Brilliant!
I didn't know that Stuart... probably for the best as they're no doubt too spicy for me
craving Caribbean food now - perfect for Summer though it's bloody cold today
Feel like we've been saying that for months Frank lol
Got a bit steamy at Turtle Bay on Saturday in Sheffield. Never had the food hahaha
Oh dear Tom what did you drink lol
I did a similar trick at a Cosmo in Derby not long back - you're not alone, mate 😂!
Gary I enjoy your video's you are always professional with out being portentous
That is very kind and really appreciated thank you very much, Ian
Wow that looked fantastic and will give it a go, the whole meal brought back alot of memories as I was lucky enough to do that adventure on your bucket list and visited the Carribean to follow the england Cricket tour in 94, one of the highlights of the Test Matches there is the little stalls behind the grandstands manned by locals cooking fresh Goat Curries (very aromatic) and more locals with machetes preparing fresh coconuts and pineapples. Sorry to waffle but that stream brought the memories back.
I’m so pleased it brought back some wonderful memories Ian fantastic 💯💯
there was a little cafe at Island gardens , Isle of dogs , Jamaican food and a goat curry to die for. They pulled it down 5 years ago and made a bigger place , hasnt been occupied since , someone didnt understand that big isnt always better
Agreed
Turtle Bay in Exeter is fantastic. Exeter University students love it, as the cocktails are 2 for 1 at certain times which makes it great value. Vegan Jerk Chicken with coconut rice and peas is only £14.50. Superb value for money, catering for all dietary requirement, fun atmosphere and lovely staff.
That’s fantastic to hear, Philip
I've never tried Caribbean food, Gary. After watching this video I'm definitely going to give it a try! Thank you!
It’s certainly very tasty Nathan
Once that flavor hits, yu can’t stop no matter how much pain it causes 😂😂😂 I LOVE Caribbean food 🎉
Hi, great to see you broadening your culinary spectrum. It looked really tasty.
Have you done Greek yet, with plate throwing 😊🍻
Yes I have Jonathan...
