What about a show covering how Aragorn’s mom and a band of rangers and elves help smuggle Aragorn into Rivendale while being hunted by the witch king and orcs. A high budget mini series
The Westron name for Dunadan was simply Adun, "westerner", but this name was seldom used. This name was reserved to those Numenoreans who were friendly to the Elves.
A modern day Dúnedane ranger is a tier 1 Operator in the field. The magic of Tolkien is how relatable it can be to our current times. The magic, characters and conflict, are never far from you at all if you look around with your imagination. And that is a comforting thought
What happened to the rangers after the crowning of Aragorn? Did they join the Gondorian army? Did they continue to roam Arnor but this time not hiding anymore?
It’s likely when Arnor was restored, they dwelt there and their lifespans waned to that of lesser men, possibly intermarriage with the people of Bree. I can only guess.
I agree with the other guy. Make it a movie. So if they did make this movie, what actors would you use? Let’s say 12. From any film era and in their prime. Here’s my 12 in no particular order: Clint Eastwood Lee Marvin Mel Gibson Kirk Douglas Charlton Heston Sean Connery Charles Bronson Chuck Connors Kevin Costner Arnold (not even going to try to spell his last name) Bruce Willis That dude on Reacher (not Tom…the big guy on the series). I would use Christopher Lee and Karl Urban but they’re already in LotR. I would also use Denzel Washington and Jim Brown…but you know…sticking to a theme here.
How? There's little to no information given by Tolkien about him. Just that he was Aragorn and Arwen's only son and he took over after Aragon gave up his life. The only other detail I can think of is that he didn't live as long as is father... The long life of Numenorian's faded after Aragorn. Which I find interesting, as the pairing of Aragorn and Arwen should have restored some degree of longevity to his line, seeing that Arwen was of elf blood.
Actually Eldarion lives for about 220 years. He ruled for about 100 years. I think The New Shadow coincides with Eldarion's rule. I wonder what Eldarion would do if he knew Sauron's influence was returning to Middle Earth.🤔
I can’t help but think the Dunedain way of life shouldn’t be seen as “fallen” but how Eru hoped all Men (and Elves) should live. With having Mongols and grand cities as distractions and temptations.

@NerdoftheRings has it ever been explored why the Rangers didn't; Regroup in Tharbad or Bree ? Tharbad was a Numenorion City? Why communication with Gondor was ceased? Why they guarded Eraidor in secret? Surely Bree and Shire would have been interested in helping to keep their own lands safe.
I think it was because they finally had to acknowledge that the Witch-King had a major hard-on for all things Arnorian, and and after being so thoroughly crushed by him that any attempt to officially "assemble" would simply bring wrath and ruin on them, and anyone who was seen to be supportive of them. Their best hope was to decentralize, and bide their time until conditions changed.
The LOTR has great leaders and warriors but its the characters who act in the background I like best. Like the Rangers that carry on in their duties, living among the ruins of their history.
This may seem a rude request and I do apologise. I'm in need of a GoT channel like this one where the creator has knowledge and doesn't sound patronising or like they're always speaking to children. NotR, I absolutely adore your content.
After the Return of the King, things in Eriador were remained pretty disorganized for quite a while, and people were pretty scattered. For over half a century after the end of the War of the Ring, the Arnor Rangers were the Law in those parts...
The Dunedains of the North have a much longer lifespan than the Dunedains of Gondor due to a much purer bloodline. The former north kingdom of Arnor became depopulated due to centuries of conflict with the forces of Sauron. Most of the local populations of Men fled south to Gondor seeking refuge. The Dunedains of the north chose to stay behind and continue to fight the orcs and other servants of Sauron. Due to the lack of large numbers of other Men remained in the North, Dunedains of the North largely practiced endogamic marriages resulting their much longer lifespan than the Dunedains of Gondor.
Hey, quick video idea. You should do a video on the cosmology of EA. Like, the outer void, the universe, the door of night, the timeless halls (Whatever that is, I saw it somewhere). I think that'd be an awesome video.
It would be interesting to know how many humans actually lived in Eriador at the time of the war of the ring. I don't think there were very many of them. We know of Bree and its surrounding area of course, but other than that it seems there are only a few settlements here and there like fishing villages. The number of the Rangers probably wasn't higher than a few hundred. So I think the resettlement of Tharbad, Annúminas and other places would have required a rather substantial colonisation effort from Gondor.
A video about the women characters of Middle-earth would be nice - Galadriel, Arwen, Rosie Cotton, Eowyn, Samwise Gamgee's daughter (Elanor), and Lobelia Sackville Baggins. Anyone of them will do.
Under this playlist you can find the video on Arwen and also the complete travels of Galadriel th-cam.com/play/PLLyHBx6FRJC3BymwVJUiHN-eDXgZoqLQc.html&si=nUpUIln2r77vS_Na
One thing I am very interested in Is the question, can Uruk-hai be good or become good? I got the idea of a Hobbit or a young elf falling into the mud in isengard and turning into an Uruk-hai. That's cause I way more familiar with the movies then the books though. I am sort of aware of that difference between how Uruk-hai are created in the books compared to the movie. The idea I had was the mud basically having a strange effect on either a kid elf or a hobbit as of yesterday lol. The Hobbit becomes a little Uruk-hai but does not recognize Saruman as his ruler. Saruman attempts to destroy the Uruk-hai but he escapes and wonders around in the wild. He first tries to return home but his people think he is the enemy and try to kill him. He ends up being hunted by men, elves, and Saruman's army. But he manages to survive and meet the fellowship of the ring. Who luckily end up accepting him into there group after he helps them fight off a group of orcs.
Where was the info on the settlements found noted starting at about 1:30? I have always thought that more settlements would be West of the Shire, near the Grey Havens.
I agree with you. There had to be scattered homesteads around Bree and the Shire to protect those areas, unless the Rangers were separated from the families and friends for years at a time. Also, during that time, we know that there were Trolls in that region and, as it turned out, Orcs too. Not a smart place to settle down. South of Rivendell would have been much safer. Or even further west like you suggest.
Love the videos. But I have always wondered. How did Gollum lose the ring in the tunnel for Bilbo to find? It seems odd that he would just leave it there. He had a spot for it in island. He should have been panicked well before Bilbo.
Gollum wore the Ring when he went hunting for food other than fish. He may have gone hunting that day and the Ring increased in size and slid off his finger without him knowing it.
Gollum didn't so much the Ring as much as the Ring abandoned Gollum. There's part of a conversation between Gandalf and Frodo that talks about this although I don't remember off the top of my head if that happened at Bag End or in Rivendell.
What videos would you like to see here on the channel? (It’s been a while since I’ve asked!)
How about where the Dwarves and Elves got their food? Were there Dwarf/Elf farms and ranches?

This was excellent! I've been hoping for a video about the Dúnedain for a while now. I just wish the Grey Company had been included in PJ's films.
They need room for the elves in Helm's Deep that never existed and disappeared right after the battle.
Always wanted to know more about the Rangers of the North.
There is good fan made movie called Born of Hope about Arathorn and his fellow rangers. It’s very good!
Yes, it is!
Isn't that a companion piece to The Hunt for Gollum fan film too?
@@michaelandreipalon359 The filmmakers of both of those works know each other and helped out on each other's films.
Production on Born of Hope started before that of The Hunt for Gollum, but as it is a much longer film, it was finished after The Hunt for Gollum.
The Hunt for Gollum was released a few months before Born of Hope. Both were released online in 2009.
@@grossepointemichigan Ah, then so it is. Good to know!
Yes, great fan film made with a small budget.
What about a show covering how Aragorn’s mom and a band of rangers and elves help smuggle Aragorn into Rivendale while being hunted by the witch king and orcs. A high budget mini series
That's a movie, not a series.
Thanks!
The Westron name for Dunadan was simply Adun, "westerner", but this name was seldom used. This name was reserved to those Numenoreans who were friendly to the Elves.
love your videos man
A modern day Dúnedane ranger is a tier 1 Operator in the field. The magic of Tolkien is how relatable it can be to our current times. The magic, characters and conflict, are never far from you at all if you look around with your imagination. And that is a comforting thought
Great videos, very informative.
What happened to the rangers after the crowning of Aragorn? Did they join the Gondorian army? Did they continue to roam Arnor but this time not hiding anymore?
They went to Narnia
It’s likely when Arnor was restored, they dwelt there and their lifespans waned to that of lesser men, possibly intermarriage with the people of Bree. I can only guess.
Nicely done! Thank you for your work ;)
Yeassss yes. New video❤😂
Thks nerd. ❤❤❤
Absolute Best warriors😍😍😍, we need a movie about the Agmar war.
“He’s one of them rangers, dangerous folk they are”
Awesome video!!
I LOVE your videos! I wonder what is next. ❤ 🤔
I would watch a series about the Rangers
Maybe Amazon will make one.🙄
I agree with the other guy. Make it a movie.
So if they did make this movie, what actors would you use? Let’s say 12. From any film era and in their prime.
Here’s my 12 in no particular order:
Clint Eastwood
Lee Marvin
Mel Gibson
Kirk Douglas
Charlton Heston
Sean Connery
Charles Bronson
Chuck Connors
Kevin Costner
Arnold (not even going to try to spell his last name)
Bruce Willis
That dude on Reacher (not Tom…the big guy on the series).
I would use Christopher Lee and Karl Urban but they’re already in LotR.
I would also use Denzel Washington and Jim Brown…but you know…sticking to a theme here.
Beautiful artwork. Love the history of the Rangers.
Could we get a video about Eldarion, Son of Aragorn?
5:01 And thus the game of golf was invented at the same time.
Yes! So excited for this one!
Favorite part of LOTR is when the Grey Company show up. Always gets me pumped!
i want to see a Nerd Of The Rings building Bařad Dǔr Video. Keep Up the good work mellon
Finally a rangers of the north video lets gooo!
I felt closest to them in all the groups in the middle earth.
Never thought about it as Elrond effectively fostering his (great) nephews. What a lovely idea.
You Are the best TH-camr in the world and your videos make me so happy👍🤩
Do one on the Dunlendings please
I can’t help but think the Dunedain way of life shouldn’t be seen as “fallen” but how Eru hoped all Men (and Elves) should live. With having Mongols and grand cities as distractions and temptations.
This was a good one man !!
“And Debbie.”
Gets me every time 🤣
great video as always
Nerd, your videos are stupendous. I love the illustrations, especially the portraiture. Is there any chance of you merchandising the maps? They are so beautiful and detailed.
Feeling like a superfan rn I ain’t ever been this early 😭😭
Great video, don't be shy with the music though, it was a bit low in this video, I like hearing it in the background!
Love these videos so much.
5:02 and thus the game of golf was invented 😂
It's been such a long time >40 years since I read the LOTR, I'd forgotten so many elements of the story - and it makes me wonder, had Peter Jackson made a TV series, would all of these additional extras, including dialogue, have been included. Just image, 3 seasons per book and 9 seasons altogether with perhaps another season addressing Appendix A.
Cool video! It’s cool to see how you’ve developed your voice acting over the years. Really great!
I love the music too! What is it?
Arragorn is so Legendary

@NerdoftheRings has it ever been explored why the Rangers didn't;
Regroup in Tharbad or Bree ?
Perhaps try In Deep Geek. He does LotR, GoT, and The Witcher lore in a similar style to Nerd of the Rings.
After the Return of the King, things in Eriador were remained pretty disorganized for quite a while, and people were pretty scattered. For over half a century after the end of the War of the Ring, the Arnor Rangers were the Law in those parts...
I would love to know more about the Eagles, Farms and Food
Good work boss❤ more story videos 📹 👏
If only Tolkien had the lifespan of the Dünedain or the Numenoreons so we could have more content
Another day asking for a Lindon video
I’m always game for some Dunedain Lore
Don't forget about Ioreth💕
Just love the lore!
Sauron must have had some pimped-out palaces, back east.
Can you tell me the track used at 7:32?
when vr is fr fr like 80s and 90s scifi, i'ma spend most my time in middle earth
The Dunedain Rangers, another of the unsung heroes of Middle Earth. Apart from the Hobbits as well as the Druedain.
'cept.
The voice of the nazgul king wasn't heard again in that age (the third).
What about 'that voice' in the fourth age?
Where was the info on the settlements found noted starting at about 1:30? I have always thought that more settlements would be West of the Shire, near the Grey Havens.
I think it is from Nature of Middle Earth
@@Enerdhil i guess the ring did something to gollum because he didnt seem to miss it until Bilbo did the pocket riddle.
What happened to Tauriel? ❤️🩹
She never existed in the books.
Wait the war in the north was less then 100 years before "The Hobbit"?
From teh very beggining for me the most interesting people in all the legendarium
