Generations of gamers have used Dungeons and Dragons for Therapy, and so can you! #dnd #dnd5e #dungeonsanddragons #dndpodcast Excerpt from the latest episode of the Black Lodge Games Podcast
As a note though, there are a couple group therapy ttrpg's out there, where therapists can purchase the materials and receive training on how to run group therapy using a ttrpg ruleset. I'm in training to be a therapist and also a massive D&D fan, and its my goal to get trained and be running these sessions for teens. Ttrpgs for use as a therapy tool have good research backing them, as essentially an extended, structured form of therapeutic roleplay or a grown-up form of play therapy
I literally clicked on this ASAP to support BLG cutting up their podcast into smaller, more digestable chunks enabling that one podcast to do so much more f--king WORK. Let's f--king GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Unrelated: just watched the Daggerheart game. I sincerely hope everyone who buys it does try to DM at least one session, because they deserve the pain.
@@blacklodgegames I hadn't read the docs before, but I skimmed while watching and paused a few times to understand what they were trying to do. It's so wild. The nonsense with the tokens is a completely unnecessary gamification of encounter setups, yet this is supposedly a "narrative-forward" system. Totally schizo. You want to simultaneously cripple me, as a DM, _and_ pile even more burdens on my head? Can nothing at all be pass/fail? This is also going to exacerbate the "Mercer Effect" a thousandfold because only among friends of decades-long standing can the initiative-less combat possibly work, even to the unimpressive degree that they managed. My nomination for the dumbest and (not coincidentally) most on-brand move: measuring gold in handfuls and bags. Because they can't count.
Yes, but what about Second Barbecue?

There is nothing wrong with some cathartic monster slaying.
Imminently good
SO murder hobos were right all along
Murder Hobos have plot armor.

This seems much more healthier than a problem player hyjacking someone’s game
It also seems like those times in school when teachers tried to use pop culture during class to appeal to children.... Oof
Dude, new studio is so awesome guys. Keep it up!!
it sounds good, but you need the "cooperatin" of the GM
I need therapy after watching you talk about wizards.
Ok I'll bite, what did they say about wizards or where can I find it?

They don't want a Dice imagination Dungeoncrawling game, they want a group therapy session.
I just can't wait until your live play of wraith.

I appreciate that you made this a regular video instead of one of those insipid shorts.
Oh it's going to be an insipid short too sometime next week haha
The mic is too close to your face, it can be moved to the side pickup is okay with skew across the field.
Thanks, was told I was framed properly in set, won't make that mistake again

I skimmed some of the playtest doc and it doesn't look good lol

Hey Boyz. How would I access any recent examples of your actual plays?
Check out cyberpunk playlist
The answer is don't. At least not intentionally just have fun and it will have positive side effects.
Can't wait for the new vtm vid!!!
Opposite end of the spectrum. Both ways are cringe and unfun to run.
Wow, that may be true, but its not a good look.
