For more than three decades he has been the epitome of “old school.” Hear him as you’ve never heard him before every Tuesday at 6am Eastern as you gives you a peak behind the curtain for the first time ever. Each week Paul Bromwell will examine Arn’s days in the territories, becoming an Anderson, creating the Four Horsemen in the NWA, becoming a Hall of Famer, and being a producer behind the scenes for years for WWE proving “The Enforcer” has a story unlike anyone else. Known for his trademark Spinebuster and incredible “promos” in front of the camera, it’s his timing and wit that has kept “the boys” in stitches behind the scenes. Sandman signed for $250,00 and WCW forgot to book him about for 6 months. Sandman sat at home for 6 months making $5,000 a week doing nothing. There were a few others that this lucky. Let's see, WCW brings in Dennis Rodman for $1,674,814 in 1998 & 1999. Kevin Greene receives $1,066,000 from 1996-1998. Reggie White gets $209,000 in 1997. There is plenty more waste of money. That is why the company was going broke. Flair had personally paid for the creation of the new NWA World’s Championship, the Big Gold Belt, instead of paying the deposit since it was roughly the same amount of money. Flair’s stance was that since he had paid for the belt’s creation, it was his personal property. The story ended a few months later as Flair and Herd came to an agreement with Flair returning the Big Gold Belt to WCW in exchange for approximately $40,000.

    • @thomasleonard945
      @thomasleonard945 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Flair's contract expired before the Bash PPV, despite WCW promoting him as champ for an event when he hadn't resigned a new deal. Flair has stated he refused Herd's offer but countered he would extend his old deal an extra month or two so that he could put over Luger & complete the PPV. Herd declined and ordered him to drop the title at a TV taping before his contract expired to Whyndam, who Flair was friends with. That's when Flair asked about the return on his deposit for the gold belt & Herd refused to reimburse him, thus the stalemate that ended with The Big Gold Belt on WWE TV.

  • @thomascrown5953
    @thomascrown5953 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I agree with Arn that the "Luger never made more than $240k for us" from Herd doesn't add up and Arn laid out why, as Lex was guaranteed more than that when he joined Crockett in '87. By '91, I'm sure his original deal with Crockett had probably expired and he would have negotiated a new deal but I can't imagine a scenario where he accepted a sizable paycut to stay with WCW.

    Flair was old and looking shabby to me, my friends and I joked around about how he did not look like he could beat any of these up and coming guys, of course he should give up the belt. Ric Flair knew he was nobody without the belt and there was nobody more selfish and a mark for himself than Flair. He humiliated himself in is old age and even put a final black eye on wrestling with his "final match", a cringe match for the ages. Herd ran a wrestling company like a 6 year old. Loved the good guys and hated the bad guys. Don't run traditionally successful wrestling towns in your own area. Go to Chicago for no reason instead just because it's bigger. Also try to copycat your rival but suck at it. Keep coming up with childish ideas and gimmicks.

And smugly thinks we came to hear him… only to have Eric diplomatically point out he has no idea what he’s talking about since he’s never had a real job in his life! Lol.
