They actually had a cartoon called "the Real Ghostbusters" the ironic thing is that, in the cartoon, the green ghost from the hotel actually moves in with the Ghostbusters and basically becomes like a mascot. They name him "Slimer". He's even in the Ghostbusters 2 movie.
While today's environment paints Venkman as an irredeemable sleazebag, it was definitely meant to be funny, although not in a way that you would condone his behavior. I think they intended him to be goofy and a little too full of himself but ultimately just annoying and harmless, and they wanted to make fun of that. He's much like his character in the beginning of Groundhog Day, which portrays that character as an ass in need of redemption.
I think it was a director's commentary track where either Harold or Ivan said that Bill Murray is so naturally likable that they wanted to see how far they could push the audience before they finally turned on him.
It's really weird watching Venkman nowadays cause now I just think "nobody would EVER DARE to write a character like this now" but back when I was a kid I just saw him as "the funny one". I do agree that it doesn't feel like they're condoning his behavior at all anyway. For the majority of the film, Dana puts him in his place and doesn't give him an inch whenever he makes advances on her and he does show later on that he does genuinely care about her and respects her when they meet up at the orchestra, when she's possessed, and when they carry her out of the rubble.
Not only that, but the student is obviously in her 20s, has been hit on, and she came up with the 8 pm return time. Maybe she was just into him. I knew 3 professors that dated juniors and seniors, both female and male profs, plus post grads. 2 couples got married. So the only creepiness is this new morality movement who thinks they are always right. These aren't kids..these are over 18 adults. Mind your own business.
First time watcher - it was so joyous watching you react to a film I loved as a teenager! True that Venkman was a bit of a creep, but when the chips are down you could count on him to do the right thing...this was even more evident in Ghostbusters II. Egon was always my favorite, but all the Ghostbusters had a unique quality that added to the team. Hope to see more of you soon!
@pinklefoo It wasn't as obvious back then - I was only 15 and I just assumed psychologists ran around with sedatives in their pockets. Even so, it was clear he wasn't supposed to be sympathetic or likeable - that was Ray's job. Peter did quite a turn in Ghostbusters II and became more of the good person he showed brief flashes of being in the first film.
Bill Murray is a comedic legend who rose to fame in the late 70s on Saturday Night Live and grew to mythic heights with his movies like Stripes, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Caddyshack, and his all-time classic Groundhog Day. You'd like his progression in Groundhog Day, which is a must-watch. You'd also love him in What About Bob because he plays the opposite of the a-hole character of the movie. He was nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes for the movie you're watching in this video (Ghostbusters) and won for Lost in Translation. Overall, he's been nominated SEVEN times. While some millennials may not appreciate his humor, his films are still loved by the majority. Millennials are definitely a unique breed.
Ghostbusters is a comedy! Think that went over your head haha. Peter Venkman is one of the best characters ever. I guess it's a sign of the times, that youngsters are offended by him rather than laughing at him 😂
I wonder if it's a sort of language barrier thing, where maybe if American English isn't your native every day language it's not as obvious that Venkman KNOWS he's being annoying and is TRYING to be annoying to mess with people, and that he's just CONSTANTLY sarcastic about everything.
Which is really weird because millennials absolutely love him and kinda reinvigorated him in a sense by acknowledging his style of comedy, even with the films that came out before their time. His Internet popularity was higher than probably any actor who's peak was in the 80a. But Gen Z is offended by everything so maybe it's just as simple as that
oh its ridiculous the offendedness of younger generations. They need an a$$-kicking in general which Gen X can still dish out. lol. I knew 3 professors that were shacking up with junior/grad students. None ended in drama, nobody got hurt-and the shock to younger generations, EVERYBODY THOUGHT FOR THEMSELVES AND MADE THE DECISIONS. We were so much older as 20 year olds than these pu$$ies today.
If you're up for it, this film reminds me of some essential movies from the 70s and 80s for you to watch. Comedy: "Groundhog Day,'" "Trading Places" Action / suspense "The Terminator," "Die Hard," "Jaws" The somewhat scary ones: "Alien," "The Exorcist."
I remember when the Ghostbuster slime was at Toys R Us just after this movie released, I was 5 and my mom made the mistake of buying some for me and I got it everywhere. Something that always confused me about the battle at the end, they should've been fighting J. Edgar Hoover not the Stay Puft Marshmallow man because Peter literally uses J. Edgar Hoover as an example of what not to do.
It's actually uplifting to watch someone seeing moments like the marshmallow man reveal not knowing what's coming and their reaction, it's a bit like being back in that moment where you saw it for the first time again. Do Patrons get to make suggestions? Is that the best way to support your channel? Just also wanted to say great that you do charity streams - and your outfit here is so adorable 😊
Thank you for your very nice comment. I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed me watching it, I would never have guessed it would be a marshmallow man 😅 so random but really funny. Right now I’m only watching movies on my own list but I’ll take suggestions in the future. Thank you for wanting to support my channel. If you want to see my full reactions Patreon is great way to support me. If you rather send me a tip to PayPal using this link: streamlabs.com/sessis/tip Trying help make the world a little bit better is important to me! Thank you for the compliment!
I saw this movie for the first time when I was a kid but I played the video game on PS3 first so I already knew about Stay Puft. When the reveal moment in the movie came I was like "OHHH! YES!" like it was a Marvel movie 😂
as far as why she says he's a friend she doesn't want to have to explain why she hired the ghostbusters and that she saw a sumerian god in her fridge to the guy she was with
Thanks for your cute commentary. Venkman is really an anti-hero. You might enjoy The Goonies if you haven't seen it, another 80s classic with a fun mix of spooky and silly.
Peter is the best character. Tony Stark & Deadpool are basically the same archetype. Though, Egon is my favorite. Interesting how gen z loves Loki, who is a straight up murderer.
Sessis, overall I love your reactions, and I especially love your skeleton blouse. When it comes to the older movies you watch may I suggest you ask questions of your fans to fully appreciate the meaning behind the dialogue otherwise you'll never fully appreciate such classics as BLAZING SADDLES.
I may be late but as you asked how they managed to cover all the ghostbusters in "marshmellow" the answer is that it was in fact shaving foam. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of shaving foam
After watching part 2 you should check out the official game. It was recently remastered and up until Ghostbusters Afterlife came out it was basically the 3rd movie. It was even written by the two writers of this, Harold Ramis aka Egon and Dan Akroyd aka Ray
Car is real, I've had my picture taken by it when my family found it in a back corner of Universal Studios. Peter is a little over the top in this film, he does take a bit of humble pie between movies and is a bit more down to earth in part 2. Also fun fact, you brought up the "merch" people had at the end of the movie. That wasn't official. Some one had gotten a hold of the logo, and printed shirts, and were selling them just outside of where the shoot was happening, on the bright side they shot it as part of the film as it was looking like such a happy group out there, and became part of the film, and they didn't come down on the unofficial merch people as it was also their way of going "oh look how quick this is catching on, we got to do merch now too."
Oh yes, I saw this when it came out. I was a kid and loved it at the time. Some fun ideas and a great theme song which became a hit right away. Venkman's antics played better in the 80's. I still find him funny in this, but I get how he comes off fairly badly these days. Overall, Bill Murray is great in most roles. His starring role in "Groundhog Day" is a highlight for me. William Atherton (Walter Peck) plays another annoying character in "Die Hard" a few years later in 1988. Dan Ackroyd (Dr. Ray Stanz) who rose to fame on the sketch comedy show "Saturday night live" and a lead role in "Trading Places" the year before this, shines here. Harold Ramis (Egon) went on to write and direct a number of other films, including the aforementioned "Groundhog Day" in 1993. (And of course co-wrote this film's screenplay with Dan Ackroyd.)
Hi. Name's Andrew. Love Ghostbusters so much. Actually saw it in the theater during it's 30th anniversary. Watch it at least once a year. Speaking of the armchair scene. Loved your reaction to that particular part. That part really scared me, too. Still does.
@Sessis I'm glad too! You're really pretty, by the way! That scene just really freaks me out every time it gets to it. It's just so hard to get used to.
When I watched the film (in 1984) I assumed that Walter Peck was part of Ivo Shandor's cult (the insane person who built the building). About Peter: he acts like a womanizer, but refuses to take advantage of Dana when she is possessed, he acts like a jerk, but volunteers, along with the others, to sacrifice himself to save the city.
Hello Sessis, How was your week? Ghostbusters is a great classic movie. My uncle still has the VHS version and I have great love for it along with the DVD, Blu-Ray, and UHD editions. I have great love for this movie 😊❤
You should definitely put the rest of the movies on your list to watch. Venkman gets “better” in the next movies. Only the 1st, 2nd and 4th movie are linked. The 3rd is a loose alternate universe reboot. I love it, it’s super funny. The 4th is an amazing conclusion to the originals.
I think I’d like to watch the other movies as well because I do really think the concept of the movie is a good one. I’d just preferred creepy dude to have been a bit more tone downed. It’s uncomfortable with such in your face creepyness when one deals with similar stuff on a almost weekly basis. Or it is for me at least 🙃 thanks for letting me know it won’t be as bad in the next movie. I appreciate that! Thank you!
The 3rd one was a box office and critical flop and put the franchise in danger because fans hated the huge amount of diversity quotas and "Girl boss" agenda with unfunny all female cast being pushed by Hollywood that also has damage the brands of Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and all of entertainment. The real 3rd Ghostbuster movie is the video game that came out in 2009 for PS3,Xbox and PC. Said so by Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray. The real continuation are Ghostbusters Afterlife that came out in 2021 and the new one Ghostbusters Frozen Empire coming out next year. And Venkman does not "get better" you poosey, stop trying to pander to women like white knight. Bill Murray's Venkman is always Venkman and Murray is always great in most Everything he has been except Garfield which he regretted making. Which, you should check out Zombieland.
@@alfredocornelio4329 he was great in garfied too. there's just only so much one man can do. kinda like willem dafoe in the live action death note. he was good but there is only so much one actor can do to elevate a steaming pile of feces
😍Classic... almost every kid who watched this movie back in my youth wanted to be a Ghostbuster. I go as a Ghostbuster sometimes for Halloween & Sci-Fi Conventions.
You have just witnessed my all time favorite movie. Now, you should react to Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
For another fun Halloween movie that's not very scary at all, I recommend Young Frankenstein (1974), a parody by famed director Mel Brooks. (Since it's a parody, it's appreciated to the fullest if you've first seen the classic Frankenstein films from the 1930s, but you'll be fine without that as long as you're familiar with the basic Frankenstein story.)
27:34 yes Sessis you are correct, narcissists often treat people differently in private. Anyhow, this was such a fun reaction! I hope you have a great Halloween this year! 🙂 Well….not that I know if they celebrate it in Sweden.
What's up sessis good reaction to watching ghostbusters from the 80's you know there's more popular movies from 80's like: e.t. the Extra-Terrestrial, goonies, back to the future, top gun, who framed roger rabbit!! Your reaction was great❤👍
I saw it in theaters (4 or 5 times) and have owned it in every format that it was produced in, multiple times in media that would wear out like VHS. There are a group of movie perennials that I own that I first buy as new formats are introduced. One of my other favorites that might loosely qualify is "Big Trouble in Little China." Not so scary, though there are some scenes of mystical creatures, but is more about Chinese fantasy and magic in the modern world. The big thing about that movie is figuring out the perspective. I won't say anything more if you choose to watch it.
A few months ago the Princes Charles Cinema in London showed the original edit of Ghostbusters in full, from before some scenes changed or any music or special effects were added. I saw it! It almost felt like I was watching a stage play version of the movie. It really made me appreciate how good the script and acting are, as it still worked. I like the final edit more, but it was really interesting. It definitely had even more slimeyness (thankfully nothing nasty) from Venkman, such as a college girl in the background at their base of operations. It also had one or two more sweet scenes of romance between Egon and Janine etc. Most notably, it had more mid-movie scenes of the Ghostbusters running from location to location busting ghosts, and I think more scenes of crowd cheering etc near the end etc. I THINK it also had a few more lines of dialogue about the priest (bishop) welcoming a bit of glory or such like (can't recall details). It was awesome. The audience cheered etc.
Just found the channel, some great reactions on here and you are having some really great commentary. I really like your 'dialect' where are Sessis from?
One favour to ask you. Serious question. Do you have a list of movies that people have recommended to you? If so did someone give you Shaun of the Dead 2004 as like a suggestion?
I have my own list atm of movies I’ve been meaning to watch. When I run out of movies that I can think of myself I have a lot of recommendations from comments here on TH-cam. Is that a scary movie? I don’t like getting super scared
@@Sessis 😂 It’s a British zombie comedy film and a darn good one, a classic. I don’t really think it’s that scary since I think it will probably more likely make you laugh instead of scared.
This is the movie I have watched more than any other. Last time I counted was 134, and that was in the late 1980s when I was still a young kid. I am in my mid 40s now. I have watched it more times since then. :) 80s music indeed has something special. I can't figure out what, but it is my favorite. Bill Murray's character was indeed a liar. I hate lies more than anything else in life. Partly due to being raised among liars who made my life impossible. I hate liars. But because it is a movie, I do forgive him. One could say the lies he said during the test were part of the test, so...yeah. His general character annoyed me a lot, when I was a kid. Like..a lot. Not enough to ruin the movie for me. Over the years I got used to him and see him as a character that is definitely not me, but he is a nice guy, just different. BTW, his attitude in her place when she was possessed, it was humor/sarcasm. He wasn't being a creepy guy. :) And the kiss was more of affection and he was worried about her. It's just his way of dealing with things. Yes indeed, busting makes everyone feel good. :) Good reaction, 2 out of 2 so far. I am glad I subbed. Neither the movie of Bill's character is for everyone so nothing wrong with not loving it/him/them.
The 1980s was a much more affordable time than today. So yeah, they could do what they did back then. In the new story, Winston is a billionaire funding it.
That was a fun reaction. Ghostbusters is the perfect introduction into the horror game for kids, at least for me it was. (Allthough the ghost lady gave me the creeps :D )
Had to abandon this reaction early. There's only so much bashing of Doctor Peter Venkman I can stand. He's not a perfect guy. Point your finger at someone who is. If he was a genuine sleaze-ball, I'd say he had ample opportunity to take advantage of Dana while she was possessed by Zuul but didn't. When it came down to brass tacks, he was willing to risk his own life to save the world. But then I guess it's easier to see the bad in people than the good.
Why abandon your reaction ????? Thats part of the problem , people caving in and submiting to the madness these days . Screw gen z , screw the people who get offended by movies and so on . STOP restricting yourself and your content for whinny little b!¥$@es ......thats whats wrong with the world today .
I don't understand why some of us older generation people don't get it. All you have to do is listen to others. Stop defining your anecdotal experience as a universal one. Venkman was a creep. Your issue is you still like them. I say your issue because it's you that can't accept that you like somebody creepy. It's not anyone else's problem. Come to terms with it. Don't try to rewrite everything into a version of reality that sits well with you. That's lazy and cowardly.
Hello Sessis. A wonderful reaction. The 80s were definitely a different time for how people acted and treated others. Venkman would get canceled in today's standards. Most movies in this era now carry a certain amount of cringe and creep factor (Revenge of the Nerds is a particular bad egg amongst today's sensibilities). I'm glad you are enjoying these movies that you are reacting to. Looking forward to more.
I like Revenge of the Nerds saw it in the 80s as a kid. I know what scenes you're talking about and yeah today something like that would be frowned upon and I guess rightfully so. Still doesn't bother me I take it for what it is and what it wanted to be, a silly comedy about nerds getting revenge lol.
Let's GOOOO! Ok, Sess, this time I am ready! One of my all time Fav movies!! Ok, so yea, Venkman (Peter the Ghostbuster is a CREEP! Of course when this released I was 6 years old, and didn't understand, but now it's like, ewwwwe. Yes, Ray, is the goofy child and the most relatable. Dan Akroyd (the actor) is a pretty cool guy himself too. So, the little pudgy ghosts name is "Slimer" I had alot of toys of him as a kid. Glad you enjoyed it! Now, I loved the 2nd one more than the first personally. So, it's up to you if you watch it. The newer one they just made a few years ago, is highly recommended as well. Fantastic Job! SessHug! Edit: Bill Murray (guy who played the creep, pretty much plays THAT guy in EVERY movie, that IS Bill Murray. Arrogant "ladies guy") yea, no thanks.
Bashere you always help to restore some faith in men for me. Thank you for being you! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything with this actor (Bill Murray) before and if this is his “trade mark” then I can’t say I’m very keen to see more of him. I think I’d like to see the second ghostbuster movie though because I did like the concept. Just wish they could have toned down or skipped the creepy dude part, it hits to close to home with dealing with men like that irl. Hard to relax and enjoy the movie.
Reading the comments of GnotMaiNeim and all those in that thread, all I have to say is GET A GRIP EVERYONE. This is only a movie. Our reaction person is a product of her generation as we all are. I feel sorry for Sessis. It's almost as if her generation was catapulted back 100 years. I'm an early stage baby boomer and recall how uptight the older generation was about my generation's music, taste in the arts, and comedy. While we were being fun loving and carefree they were so uptight you could put a piece of coal up their butts and in 5 seconds you'd get a diamond. Sadly, Sessis' generation has destroyed comedy but let's face it we've allowed it. I see Sessis as someone who can be redeemed. We just have to be patient.❤😊
Isn’t that a scary movie? I don’t watch scary movies unless it’s for charity and I haven’t done any fundraisers this year sadly. Maybe I’d watch something scary next year
i mean he was just being a creep. no real argument there. but for the experiment on the beginning there could be a legitimate purpose to have a subject given only negative reinforcement regardless of outcome and one receiving only positive to see if there are changes in results over time as sessions go on to check if the reinforcement or resulting confidence effects the ESP
Great reaction! We're not supposed to like Venkman at the start of the movie. I think it was intended to be a redemption story for him. Unfortunately the director didn't do enough to reign Bill Murray in, and he managed to stay unlikeable to the end. Venkman risked his life to save the world and still came across as a creep.
First time in my life ive witnessed someone have a vendetta against Venkman 😂. Sarcasm and wit are not picked up by some cultures i suppose, its probably why comedy is dead.
I wouldn’t say I have a vendetta against him. He just made me very uncomfortable and reminded to much of some men I’ve met in real life. Just not very pleasant people to be around in my personal opinion
First time I've ever seen someone not get the humour of Venkman, I guess society has changed quite a lot over the years, make that decades!!! Other than that a very nice reaction and with a lovely smile! I've watched a lot of Jonna Linton in beautiful wild Sweden and she has a very similar accent and I do like it, easy to listen to.
Because of her age and the nuances of humor that can get lost in translation, she unfortunately misunderstood so many the comedy/jokes in this film, particularly with Bill Murrays character. This was hard to watch 😂
Respectfully, you really should lighten up and find a sense of humor. Peter's (the guy you hated) lines and character were very intentionally written that way to be creepy/funny, and you're the only person I've ever seen that took him and his lines so seriously. Most of the scenes of his that you found offensive or annoying has had audiences laughing for decades.
I can understand why you might have that emotional response to my reaction. Would it be helpful if I explained the reasons why beyond the obvious? That we’re to different people with different lived experiences that vastly impacts our points of view. Not to mention the potential difference in were in the world we both grew up and under what values etc. I’d encourage you to be more empathetic and curious of other peoples perspectives and why they might be that way. Rather then being dismissive and asking me to be just like everyone else. But that’s just my thoughts!
Actually (said with a nerdy lisp) Bill Murray plays that guy in pretty much every movie, because that is Bill Murray. He IS offensive and annoying. See, I am 45, so in the 80's this didn't come off as creepy, but thank goodness we have come a long way. And BECAUSE we have, ladies like Sess here can VOICE her opinion without MEN like YOU telling her "SHE should lighten up". Venkman, has always annoyed me, and unfortunely in the 2nd one, he is just as annoying. I don't like annoying, arrogant men, something tells me I am talking to one. 🤔
Here comes the white Knight. Lol. I think you are confusing real life with a film..it's not real! The whole film is a ridiculous comedy, not serious at all. Venkman is a wise cracking jerk, but never is meant to be evil or nasty.
@@Sessisyou seem very nice and sweet, but Venkman's character is a goofball, a harmless jerk. He's never predatory, just silly. He's meant to be silly. It's sad you see it the way you do to be honest, because he's one of my favourite characters in one of my favourite films. He saved Dana's life and the world after all!
@@GnotMaiNeim Tbat raises questions of 1) why she would have it, and 2) how he would know where to look for it in apartment that has apparently been thoroughly trashed..
@AlexandriPatris 1.) He hypothesized that she might have some kind of drug because she was artsy-type. He was right. 2.) He searched for it and found it.
Enjoyed your reaction. You're right. Bill Murrays character is narcissistic and a sleazeball. It's a character he has played in a lot of movies and he does well. Usually he's the hero but not always (like Kingpin). Very funny though.
When I was younger I never realized how terrible of a person Venkman is. Now I find it hard to enjoy the movie because we’re supposed to find it funny or silly, but I just keep being annoyed by him. Great reaction tho! Keep it up!
Girl, you are way too young to be taking a completely fictional, semi comedy movie so seriously. You need to lighten up and calm down about actors playing characters which aren't even real. I realize being in front of thousands of people isn't easy but you'll find taking things less serious; will go much further in getting more people interested in watching your reactions. When an actor pisses you off or makes you laugh its a good sign they doing their job as an actor to illicit such a response.
You walked so hard into the point you completely missed. As your comment clearly demonstrates. The media we consume affects us, on a personal level as well at large, in society. Humans have always told story’s as a way to teach, inspire and warn each other. It has a lasting impact on us hence the messaging of movies and other media matters. It’s a fascinating subject well worth your time to learn about if you have the motivation to learn!
Funny how toxic Venkman appears in 2023, but in the 80s he was just a funny regular guy. A typical child of his time and he doesnt even do coke as far as we know, per definition a good guy for the 80s. If you want to learn more about the 80s watch "WallStreet" or "American Psycho"
Yet 100 times funnier than any of the dross today. These 'relics ' as you call them have more charm and character than anything cooked up in the last 30 years
👻 I saw this when it came out. A lot of silly fun. For the most part, over the last 45 years, Bill Murray has made a living playing comically obnoxious anti-heroes. He plays a somewhat more likeable character in the movie "Tootsie" (1982). 🥸 A great animated Halloween movie that you'd definitely enjoy is "Monster House" (2006). 😎👍
That’s so cool that you saw it when it came out. Yeah I’ve heard from people now that he’s somehow managed to make this kind of character his trade mark 😅 Thanks for the movie recommendation
The irony of The Keymaster locking themselves out multiple times 😂
i've seen Ghostbusters dozens of times and never put that together >
Oh I didn’t think about that 😂 thanks for pointing it out
They actually had a cartoon called "the Real Ghostbusters" the ironic thing is that, in the cartoon, the green ghost from the hotel actually moves in with the Ghostbusters and basically becomes like a mascot. They name him "Slimer". He's even in the Ghostbusters 2 movie.
Fun Fact: before Sigourney Weaver, people had to weave their own sigourneys.
It's good to still know how to Weave your own Sigourneys...just in case.

Action / suspense "The Terminator," "Die Hard," "Jaws"
The somewhat scary ones: "Alien," "The Exorcist."
You were reacting to this movie at the same time I was visiting the actual Ghostbusters headquarters! (Which is a real fire station)
I saw this movie for the first time when I was a kid but I played the video game on PS3 first so I already knew about Stay Puft. When the reveal moment in the movie came I was like "OHHH! YES!" like it was a Marvel movie 😂
*#Sessis** it's so cute & adorable but she's the first reactor I've seen resist singing the **#Ghostbusters** song LOL*
Yep in the early 80's you could smoke inside. You still can in Las Vegas and a few of the Desert States.
as far as why she says he's a friend she doesn't want to have to explain why she hired the ghostbusters and that she saw a sumerian god in her fridge to the guy she was with
That’s bill murry my favourite actor
The opening library scene scared me so much when I was little. It's amazing! (And terrifying!)
That would have really scared me as a kid too
Thanks for your cute commentary. Venkman is really an anti-hero. You might enjoy The Goonies if you haven't seen it, another 80s classic with a fun mix of spooky and silly.
Thank you! I’m wanting to watch The Gonnies at some point
@@Sessis really hope you share it with us, i suspect you'd enjoy it
Peter is the best character. Tony Stark & Deadpool are basically the same archetype. Though, Egon is my favorite. Interesting how gen z loves Loki, who is a straight up murderer.
Maybe younger people would like Venkman more if he was a chick making moves on a dude. 😂

I hadn’t put that together, so funny 😂
"The little green ghost is still alive." Well... if he'd be alive, he wouldn't really be a ghost anymore.
Venkman is more of a goofball than anything else. You can't take him that seriously.
Bill Murray is the kind of guy you either love or hate and he always plays himself lol
Yes not much acting he really is like that.
Never been a fan of these movies, but I’d have to say that Egon and Winston have always been my favourites.
My fav character would be Egon and Ray. Egon is kinda funny in a way and Ray is so goofy he resembles my cool uncle.
OMG I saw this movie dozens of times since 1984 and I never pick the non blinking guy...!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s funny 😄
I may be late but as you asked how they managed to cover all the ghostbusters in "marshmellow" the answer is that it was in fact shaving foam. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of shaving foam
All real men know: *Never cross streams!* 😬
7:57 ~ That was her stomach. She was hungry. 🤣
After watching part 2 you should check out the official game. It was recently remastered and up until Ghostbusters Afterlife came out it was basically the 3rd movie. It was even written by the two writers of this, Harold Ramis aka Egon and Dan Akroyd aka Ray
There’s a game? Cool!
Ayyyyy!!!! I’m so happy you’re reacting to one of my favorite Bill Murray comedies of all time!!!!
“Who are you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!”
That woman is from Alien horror movie
Hi Sessis glad you watched this one. I know you said scary isn't your thing but I am proud of you for trying this one.
Thank you Cody! Luckily this wasn’t to scary even though it got me a few times
One of the better reactions I've seen, nice job. 😊
Wow, thank you!
Yes, the marshmallow was "shaving foam" in the movie. Stay Puft marshmallow brand was created after the movie.
They made a brand of it afterwards? Guess that’s smart 😄
@@Sessis Yep. I believe you can still get some of their marshmallows today.🙂
Hi. Name's Andrew. Love Ghostbusters so much. Actually saw it in the theater during it's 30th anniversary. Watch it at least once a year. Speaking of the armchair scene. Loved your reaction to that particular part. That part really scared me, too. Still does.
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear I wasn’t alone getting scared of that scene.
@Sessis I'm glad too! You're really pretty, by the way! That scene just really freaks me out every time it gets to it. It's just so hard to get used to.
You might like Beetlejuice. It isnt scary. Its another weird comedy spooky movie.
I never thought Walter Peck was in the cult also he doesn't act like he's in a cult.
Hello Sessis, How was your week?
Ghostbusters is a great classic movie. My uncle still has the VHS version and I have great love for it along with the DVD, Blu-Ray, and UHD editions. I have great love for this movie 😊❤
My week has been okay. Thank you for asking. Hope yours was nice! That’s cool that you uncle has the vhs version
I'm glad this movie didn't scare you much, being that it's a comedy and all.
Venkman was my hero growing up!
Thanks for sharing!

😍Classic... almost every kid who watched this movie back in my youth wanted to be a Ghostbuster. I go as a Ghostbuster sometimes for Halloween & Sci-Fi Conventions.
You have just witnessed my all time favorite movie. Now, you should react to Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Very original movie.
32:59 You are correct, that marshmallow fluff was made of shaving cream.
They most have needed so many cans of it 😆
For another fun Halloween movie that's not very scary at all, I recommend Young Frankenstein (1974), a parody by famed director Mel Brooks. (Since it's a parody, it's appreciated to the fullest if you've first seen the classic Frankenstein films from the 1930s, but you'll be fine without that as long as you're familiar with the basic Frankenstein story.)
Thank you for the recommendation. Maybe I can watch that next year perhaps!
"Bustin' makes me feel good."
"Me too."

To understand the humor of the film, you must first understand the humor of SNL.
And National Lampoon and Second City Improv.

Fun one, Sessis! Thanks for sharing it. 🙂
Thank you for watching 😊 glad you found it fun!
That’s really cool thank you for sharing with me! I haven’t heard of that movie thanks for the suggestion

@@Sessis your welcome sessis your amazing 😘☺️
Hi there. Ghostbusters!
Hello 👋
The little green ghost is named Slimer. He is often portrayed as an ally of the Ghostbusters in other films and television series.
Thanks for telling me
Just found the channel, some great reactions on here and you are having some really great commentary. I really like your 'dialect' where are Sessis from?
Hey thank you so much! I’m from Sweden 😊
You oughta watch "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" which introduces a new Ghostbuster generation and a farewell to Egon's actor Harold who passed away 2014.
80s music indeed has something special.
Good reaction, 2 out of 2 so far.

Well said. Gen Z people are so serious and take it all so literally. It's supposed to be a comedy, a joke. He's a cocky goofball, not a predator
Why abandon your reaction ????? Thats part of the problem , people caving in and submiting to the madness these days . Screw gen z , screw the people who get offended by movies and so on . STOP restricting yourself and your content for whinny little b!¥$@es ......thats whats wrong with the world today .
Totally agree. We live in a other time
I don't understand why some of us older generation people don't get it.
@@pinklefoo It should be the opposite if you watch an older movie
Your reaction is the cutest! Obviously 1984 is long before you were born, but movie humor & jokes were different. Have your parents seen this movie?
A good reaction. Venkman is a bit of a jerk, but Dana makes him better.

It's a joke, a comedy. Jez..why do people take it so seriously?
When will you upload short videos of the second, third and fourth Toy Story movies?
I’ve not had time to make any shorts sadly but I’d like to get back to managing to make them as well

I actually like this movie 🎬 because Ghostbusters is a legend anyway I love your shirt 👕 cause you look really beautiful sweetheart ❤️ 💕 💖 💗 💓 💜
Thank you!
So why was Venkman carrying Thorazine around with him on what was supposed to be a date?

Enjoyed your reaction. You're right. Bill Murrays character is narcissistic and a sleazeball. It's a character he has played in a lot of movies and he does well. Usually he's the hero but not always (like Kingpin). Very funny though.
30:03 sry but this is some big whooooosh
When I was younger I never realized how terrible of a person Venkman is. Now I find it hard to enjoy the movie because we’re supposed to find it funny or silly, but I just keep being annoyed by him. Great reaction tho! Keep it up!
Yeah it’s very clear the movie is super old when considering his character.
So terrible a person that he saved his prospective girlfriends life and saved the world ❤😂
Girl, you are way too young to be taking a completely fictional, semi comedy movie so seriously.
Says the guy taking a reaction way too seriously. Touch grass.
Also don’t judge a book by its cover 😉
Funny how toxic Venkman appears in 2023, but in the 80s he was just a funny regular guy. A typical child of his time and he doesnt even do coke as far as we know, per definition a good guy for the 80s. If you want to learn more about the 80s watch "WallStreet" or "American Psycho"
Yeah times changes and we evolve, fun that we have these relics of movies to get a glimpse at the past though. Thanks for the suggestions
