That time would not have qaulified Shackell in the Australian men's 400m event..the qualifying time (recently) in Aus was 3:45.43... I don't think our aussie male swimmers are over strong, but by gee, this win has convinced me our selectors need to be a little more reasonable when setting QT prior at our own trials.

I just have seen Australia trials, being shocked many times, however, the USA, oh my god, super powerful.
