While you wait for the elevator on the 11th floor, Katie Ledecky took the stairs, got to the ground floor first, washed your car, walked your dog and did your homework. Twice.
The only challenge for Ledecky in the future won't come from another swimmer, it will be from the clock. Will she be the first woman to break the 8-minute barrier in the 800m? I wouldn't bet against her.
What people need to realise too is that she's not beating cannon fodder here. The top 7 times in this race are all TOP level world class swims. Women's distance freestyle is actually quite deep at present, even without Ledecky this was a SCORCHING race, remember other than Ledecky, even including super suit swims barely a dozen or more girls have ever broken 8:20. So the fact she is dismantling such class athletes is even more impressive than it looks.
It has just been announced that there is going to be a 1500m women's event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. I am excited to see the Ledecky Slam in the Olympics!!!!!!
Every time I watch her swim I feel like I am watching a great artist at work. She is the most beautiful swimmer I have ever seen and I have seen every swimmer since the 1964 Olympics.
What is your opinion of her technique as compared to Ian Thorpe? While their techniques are obviously different (each suited to their unique body composition), my question is specifically with respect to grace in stroke. I personally find both of them "beautiful swimmers", but will give Ian a slight edge. Just a personal opinion though !!
I understand and truly appreciate and respect your love for swimming.. She is truly a "beautiful swimmer".. I never intended an argument as it's just a personal choice and opinion...
