Exactly, that knife at such a good price wil be plenty good enough for common daily use.

I've been carrying a 5.99 ozark trail knife similar to that one for 4 years that I've removed the clip and placed it on my keychain. I just keep it sharpened and love that even if it gets ruined, I'll just get another one.

No doubt a perfect everyday knife for odd jobs. If you spend the time to really get a good edge, maybe even a step better. Can't beat if for the price.

I bought a bunch of these exact knives after Xmas to give away to friends and family members. I think they were clearanced, at some of the stores that I went to, at around $4. The first one I bought was for myself and it was sharp enough to easily cut newspaper right out of the box and, after just a little stropping on leather, it would glide through the paper with no resistance at all. ( If you are unaware, paper has a grain just like wood and if your knife won't cut along one edge it will usually cut the edge that is 90 degrees to that edge because the grain runs that way) My biggest reason for loving the knife is how light it is for the blade length. I can clip it to the pocket of my sweats and it doesn't pull my drawers down. You can get it to open one handed just by flicking your wrist a bit while pushing down on the lever at the back of the blade. My clip has held up very well. In fact I've tried to loosen its grip by bending it (my sweats have a thick bead at the top of the pocket that has to be overcome) and it is just too stiff. It's true spring steel in my opinion. There are a number of Ozark Trail knives that I've found to be incredible values and this is definitely one of them IMHO.

Back in the day, my local Wally World's Gun counter had one of those spinner rack thingies with $3 knives hanging on it. Naturally there was NEVER anyone at the counter and it was at least a 2 hour waste of time to find someone with working keys. So while passing by, I got in the habit of grabbing 2 of the same patterned cheapo Ozark Trail $3 to toss in the workbag and to supply my daily Temp workers who almost NEVER showed up with a knife.
One day, while driving out in the state forest on some lumber road I found a big pullover area and yeah, pulled over. While stretching my legs and walking around inspecting my truck, I apparently dropped that $3 knife in the mud, didn't notice because it was a cheap cheesy pocket clip not a REAL belt pouch. I didn't notice the knife was missing until about 20 miles down the forest road later.
3 YEARS later, driving the same forest road, once again I pull over at that same pullover. There in the hard packed mud was that $3 Walmart Ozark Trail cheap cheesy folder. I took it home and rinsed it off. To this day, I DARE anyone to compare and see if they can determine Which of these two identical Wally World $3 knives is the one that spent 3 YEARS in the ice and snow getting driven over by heavy forest equipment and which one spent those same 3 years doing nothing but sitting in a tool bag in a closet.
Over the year, those knives are now $6 and the covers have changed more times than a fashion show of emaciated skeletons showing off cloths. Not the greatest steel in the world, but I have never had one fail. I suppose you could resharpen it, but these things are dirt cheap!
