Thank you for playing a new style in worship. This is what I’ve tried to do forever. I’m a big WT fan but this is fresh… new… different sound a step away from that typical ambient reverb that all sounds so similar.

@@andrewmeldrim1831😂 I’m probably what you consider “more mature” ((75). Don’t tar us all with the same brush, I grew up listening to the Stones and The Who! But I know what you mean. We have one service a month where we go for it, but i tend to play a cleaner sound for most services. However, I do get a bit tired of the “this is how it must sound, because that’s how …. play it on their video / recording.

I’ve also owned a few Two Rocks and they just don’t do anything for me. Love hearing others play them, but I can’t make them sound like I want them to. I do think I may get this pedal and rethink my Fillmore 25 and just use this with Helix.

Can most people answer that question? 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Tim! I’ve played a handful of Two Rocks a good amount. The Traditional Clean reminds me of the tones I got in this video. Hard to really say but if you are really going to only use one sound a ToneX One may suit you fine just cause it’s $180. But something about having a fully modeled amp versus a capture of one setting just feels better!

    • @worshiptutorials

These UA amp sim pedals are designed to replace and amp and cab. You can technically turn the cab section off and use them into other IR's or a power amp and real cab, but you wouldn't really want to use them as an overdrive.
For cab simulation from UA, the Ox Stomp is what you'd want - those are very cool. It replicates a cabinet/speaker and microphones, so you'd run an amp sim into it.

@@worshiptutorials No worries. So, I'm a Christian who plays rock and blues guitar. It's my number 1 passion--but I don't think it's appropriate for worshiping God. that's all. Blues and rock can be done well for the glory of God, but not as direct worship. Blues and rock is music that riles up our sexual senses. It's awesome. It's powerful. It can be sexy and exciting. But it's not appropriate for worship. When we worship, we turn off our carnal appetites and turn on the heart and the soul. The emotions that comes with John Mayer's blues playing have nothing to do with worshiping our Creator. Rock on!

Ok I have had enough. What is worship music & its tone? Is it Christian, Jewish, Islam, Buddhist, Satanist? Gospel music? Is it Angelic choirs and harps? Is Jazz guitar tone like George Benson? Is it Hindu & sitars? Is it heavy metal, bagpipes? Is it Bluegrass? What do you mean if John Mayer played worship would he use this pedal. Why is the pedal pure or is it evil. I just don’t understand the label worship music & the tone associated with it. There’s a 4 stringed instrument that was banned & almost all were destroyed in Russia. They said it was the Devils instrument. Some recent luthiers have reconstructed it now & my wife & I went to Russian stringed quartet here in Houston about 6 years ago at a college. They were fantastic musicians & that forbidden instrument like a lute sounded great. Or is all music worship music because it comes from GOD or as others say the great spirit. Is distortion allowed? Or just acoustic instruments with no microphones. Are there any other forbidden instruments as of of now? Is there forbidden music as of now? Sorry everyone out there I just don’t get it. Oh the instrument was the Balalaika.

We worship Jesus. We started this channel with videos that teach how to play popular worship songs that are sung in modern Christian worship services.
We still do that, but we also make a lot of gear content, which I would categorize as ‘non religious’ in nature. It’s not worship related at all, but we play this gear in church, and most of our audience does too, so we try to frame our content from that context.
In contemporary church (at least in America), the popular worship songs have guitars in them that have a particular sound, and it’s quite a bit different than Mayer’s tone and playing style. So we thought it would be fun to take a popular worship song and play guitar parts that are more Mayer inspired.
We used this pedal because it’s based on Dumble amplifiers, and Mayer famously owns and plays a handful of Dumbles.
Apart from that, it sounds like you are over thinking things a bit here. The tone of your comment sounds like it’s coming from a place of frustration or anger, but it’s important to remember that this is guitar/gear content on TH-cam 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

@@worshiptutorials Yes I am frustrated & maybe angry that I always see these vids about the Worship sound & no ones says what it is. So the spiritual music you play has a particular guitar sound or tone? I’ll have to listen to some popular Christian songs see what you’re talking about. I know Phill Keggys sound & saw him twice in Mpls and was saved at each concert when I was a teen. My dad took me to see other guitarist and Jazz pianist around town back then. Thanks for helping me get an idea of the sound.

Ah - ok. We made a video about it here, actually: th-cam.com/video/ntUAUzCpHlw/w-d-xo.html
There isn't any audio in the video, though - it's just us discussing, "What is worship tone".
But if you listen to any of our electric guitar play through type videos, you'll hear the things we are talking about. Here are some examples:

@@worshiptutorialsJohn Mayer would never drench his tone with that type of reverb though. I think what's crucial to remember is that most worship guitarists ruin their core tone to the point where you can't tell if it's a guitar or a Violin or a keyboard pad. I've made a point to not use so much reverb as others. That said, great job!
