Silksong has turned into Saltsong. All jokes aside let's just be happy that the devs are taking their time and polishing the game. I'd much rather have a complete amazing experience than half assed rushed mess. Take your time Team Cherry!

So many talented artists and devs getting their time to shine here! This was a great Indie World, even without Silksong. Even with the uh, AHEM, hosts’ acting. XD
oh my god, A Short Hike has the perfect DS era aesthetic. ive literally seen a few games on the system that have that look to them. thats kind of amazing to see replicated without being limited to the DS hardware.

Most of indie games are barely decent, and most of the 1% of indie games that gets recognition are "artsy" games, with simplistic gameplay elements, purely atmospheric music and little to no dialogue. Which can be considered excellent depending on who you ask, but I personally despise games like these. I really like Shovel Knight though.
Hambs23 Perception of indie games is subjective. Consider the “artsy” Brooklyn hipsters who don’t own a single AAA game for their Switch, only indie games that have that art style that big name developers stay away from. They make games for those gamers, and it is their life’s work that deserves to be respected, as many games never make it as far as a home console release.
For the people who legitimately wanted Smash, Mario and Zelda, this is an indie direct. Third party games only pretty much. No Nintendo franchises. Don't dislike because of that, dislike if you thought it was a bad direct, but not because of a game that inevitably wasn't gonna be in the direct
Man, Spiritfarer has some wonderfully charming art. Raji pulling inspiration from Hindu and Indian lore sounds really cool. Card Shark is a good example of a trailer done right. It was pretty funny and gave a good example of its gameplay. Dag, dwag. If Torchlight 3 is running on Switch in that trailer, then that's impressively smooth given the amount of enemies and effects.

Hades' animation was so hOT ah im sorry, Spititfarer looked so cute and a type of calming game same with garden story. Takeshi and Hiroshi looks wholesOme. Having a game with huge hindu influence is sO good, Raji definitely looks really good and exciting. Short Hike is also sO CUTE AAA im really suffering with the "timed console exclusive" Ah, wish i had a nintendo switch 😔👊🏻
All those games will be available on steam, not sure about takeshi tho. Spiritfarer, Hades & Short Hike have been released on steam, played all of them and they're great. Love the atmosphere of Spiritfarer and Short Hike. Well, short hike is really short tho, I completed it in 1.5 hours. Hades is my favorite one, definitely must buy if you're into rogue-lite genre.

This was probably the best indie world I’ve seen. So many good games. Personal highlights were spiritfarer, hypnospace outlaw, garden story, and subnautica.
Personally speaking, a lot of indies don't draw my interest, and none of the ones shown here. And while that may be just me, I'm not going to agree nor deny that it may hold an appeal for SOME people. People like what they like, but don't lump people together with a positive or negative statement either way.

I want everyone to know THIS IS NOT A DIRECT, THIS IS FOR INDIE GAMES ONLY. SO THERE IS NO FIRST PARTY STUFF, AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT DISLIKING THIS VIDEO BECAUSE OF THAT.
At its $8 or so price I’m afraid it’s a one-trick pony. Will watch for buzz and reviews in the following days. Demos, devs! If you’re confident it’s a good product, give me a demo. (I know it’s a lot of work. It’s worth it because it opens my wallet.)
Don't bother. I played it when it came out on Apple Arcade. It's a GREAT concept, but it does very little with it. It's super short, and can be finished in like 30 minutes. There are very few monsters you can even place, and the game doesn't even let you see what the stats or abilities of the monsters that even are, so most of the difficulty of the game is figuring out what your monsters are even capable of. Several of the like, 6ish monsters you have also rely heavily on RNG (which again, you don't know the chances of), so they become unreliable. The game is really more of a visual novel with claymation, but even that is honestly kind of sucky since the story is super short and and just sort of ends with a crappy boss fight that doesn't even address the conflict the game brings up prior to the final level. It's not good. I got it for free, and I still felt cheated.
I am absolutely blown away on how much variety is in this showcase. There are so many unique art styles and interesting themes going on with these games that I am genuinely so excited by so many of these.

@@john34261 SAAAAMMEE, i love subnautica but it doesn't run super well on the laptop I have so I'm excited to have it accessible everywhere I go!! hopefully the controls will translate well to the switch.

@@john34261 ha, it's funny, we have the opposite problem :P i don't have a desktop, so my laptop is all I've got, and it's a work/art laptop and not a gaming laptop, so I can't run anything too taxing for the CPU and I don't have a way to add in a graphics card without prying it apart and doing some serious DIY work. maybe we should unite and rule the world xP

oh my god, A Short Hike has the perfect DS era aesthetic. ive literally seen a few games on the system that have that look to them. thats kind of amazing to see replicated without being limited to the DS hardware.

Most of indie games are barely decent, and most of the 1% of indie games that gets recognition are "artsy" games, with simplistic gameplay elements, purely atmospheric music and little to no dialogue. Which can be considered excellent depending on who you ask, but I personally despise games like these.

Raji pulling inspiration from Hindu and Indian lore sounds really cool.
Card Shark is a good example of a trailer done right. It was pretty funny and gave a good example of its gameplay.

Spiritfarer, Hades & Short Hike have been released on steam, played all of them and they're great. Love the atmosphere of Spiritfarer and Short Hike. Well, short hike is really short tho, I completed it in 1.5 hours. Hades is my favorite one, definitely must buy if you're into rogue-lite genre.

At its $8 or so price I’m afraid it’s a one-trick pony. Will watch for buzz and reviews in the following days. Demos, devs! If you’re confident it’s a good product, give me a demo. (I know it’s a lot of work. It’s worth it because it opens my wallet.)
Don't bother. I played it when it came out on Apple Arcade. It's a GREAT concept, but it does very little with it. It's super short, and can be finished in like 30 minutes. There are very few monsters you can even place, and the game doesn't even let you see what the stats or abilities of the monsters that even are, so most of the difficulty of the game is figuring out what your monsters are even capable of. Several of the like, 6ish monsters you have also rely heavily on RNG (which again, you don't know the chances of), so they become unreliable. The game is really more of a visual novel with claymation, but even that is honestly kind of sucky since the story is super short and and just sort of ends with a crappy boss fight that doesn't even address the conflict the game brings up prior to the final level. It's not good. I got it for free, and I still felt cheated.

I am just dumbfounded how everybody in the chat wanted Fall Guys and when the showcase ended they started to riot and dislike the video. Like, it would take much much longer for a Fall Guys switch port to come out
Apparently it’s exclusive to Sony because of a deal made. Idk, I just read another comment, but that would mean that it wouldn’t come to the Switch until THAT’S over.
