Hurricane ETA hits us hard in the Florida Keys. Throughout this video we document our experience before during and after the hurricane to show everyone the hard price to pay living in an ocean front home! - บันเทิง
This is exactly what is suppsoed to happen to a lifted house. Water passes underneath with no damage to house.

Our house in the keys had knock out walls designed to was away leaving the stilts in tact.
That is exactly what it should be with it open downstairs
Here on the Gulf Coast of Alabama, I have never seen a dock take that much abuse and stay together. Did Chuck Norris build that?

Love the Florida keys- we have lived on the Ichetucknee river in north Florida for over 50 years- our river floods when the Suwannee river floods and backs up our spring fed river. Our dock right now has been underwater for over a month. It’s all worth it- too many family events from anniversaries, weddings, graduation parties, retirement parties and the list goes on and on out here on the river. We are now in our late 70’s and plan to leave the river house to the kids to continue the traditions.

I am a relatively new follower and supporter of you two... my addiction started about a month ago. The same positive spirit and passion for the Florida Keys that shows through in every video you produce evidently served you well in this disaster. You are alive and well and thank God for that. I grew up in Miami in the 50-60s and as a boy had most of what we owned destroyed by hurricane Donna.I remember looking out a window and seeing a Volkswagen tumbling down our street. They are’ scary and yet I am still here too. I grew up fishing and diving the waters you video now and your work touches me deeply. I love the sea and have never been far from it... Navy, , commercial diver and retired now on the Oregon coast. I understand both of your love affair with the ocean.... be safe always and thank you. Lance

I have lived in Central Florida my whole life so I understand the hurricane thing and I love to go down to the keys for a Scuba Diving. Glad you are keeping everything in perspective. Good attitude and you're right, everyone deals with something, whether hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, earthquakes etc... Glad to see you both were taking it in stride, which is what you have to do because otherwise you'd be a wreck and that doesn't help anyone.

Oh Wow! I just saw this.... I am so glad you and Stephanie made it through the storm back in November. It is heart breaking to see the damage and stress on your faces but like you said...you are both alive and healthy and that is most important. I admire your strength and positivity.
I am fairly new to watching your videos. Love them. I just watched this and am super impressed with the coverage and the attitude you showed. I hope I can show the composure and attitude you two displayed. I live in California and just bought a home in Texas . We lost a part of my roof in a resent storm and felt a little dismayed over the ordeal. It’s mother nature and we actually enjoy viewing her when she is not at her angriest. Keep it up you two are great. The keys are on the bucket list. Five years from renting. See you then.

My house was on a canal five houses from the Ocean. I lived their first 18 years and never experienced more than a tropical storm. Two years after we moved to Gainesville, the new owner had four feet of water in the downstairs apartment, his cars and plantings were destroyed.
You really have an amazing attitude about all of it that's awesome, yes your right that is a part of life but it does get scary, we just have to realize if things like this didn't happen it wouldn't be normal.
Helped my buddy out after Sally in Gulf Breeze....they used a backpack leaf blower to reclaim/move the sand back to the Beach

Man is crazy to see how a small hurricane can cause that much damage. Can only imagine what a bigger one can do. My place in Cape Coral is in one of the gulf access canals and the water was about a feet above normal. Glad Im about 10 feet above sea level and I have don’t have to deal with that. Glad to see you guys are doing well.

Look into an Aqua Dam or something similar to protect your property when the tide rises. Don't know if they make a really thick one that will withstand the coral rocks but I think there about $10k. Maybe make up some of the cost by telling your insurance you have it and they will give you a discount.

This is the price you pay to live right on the ocean, but all material things can be fixed or replaced. So long as everyone is alive and healthy after a huge storm, that's what's important.
Also, phenomenal tie down job on your boat!!!! Any truck driver would give you a 👍 of approval. Hahahaha.

I know this isn’t a recent video, but you have a pretty home! Is that dry wall on the bottom floor that had the surge?
It reminds me of how structures are built in the Caribbean. When I was in Cuba & Jamaica, they build their homes with tile floors and cement block walls. When the hurricanes blow through, clean up is easy & nothing is damaged- just wet. So They use big squeegee for the tile floor to get it dry & that’s it. No water damage on the dry wall either because they don’t use it. They just don’t use those materials for that reason. You have a cement floor so that’s good. Just wanted to share🌴☀️

Hey, good attitude. Think of it this way....up here in Canada we have to shovel several feet of snow off our driveways and sidewalks every winter. And some of that snow is very heavy. You just had a few years of accumulated "snow" that you had to shovel in a few days. And you didn't have to wear heavy bulky clothing to do so! I would trade that in an instant! Good call on removing the sliding windows.

Driving to the Keys from Canada and towing my boat is a bucket list item after I retire in a few years. Never been south of Miami but want my kids with us. I guess it’s best to visit after February. Home seems well built but that deck sure is tough. Wondering why there is no raised lip on the floor main floor or a taller sea wall.
How do you guys afford all this luxury? So jealous would love a video on how you are able to afford this all

It may be beneficial to add high impact doors, at least in the lower level to prevent the surge from entering the lower level. I'm very interested in the construction of your house. Can you elaborate a bit so folks know if looking for a house in the Keys? I'd guess you saw the photos of the aftermath of Cat 5 Michael in 2018 when it destroyed the town of Mexico Beach and severly damaged the Panhandle from Pensacola to Big Bend. One house stood in Mexico Beach - it is an amazing engineered house.
My wife and I have a condo on the Gulf in Longboat Key and really thought we were going to be devastated by Irma in 2017 - thank goodness for the little turn inland it took over Marco when its back wall fell off. Unfortunately it had already devastated you folks and the Florida Keys.

By now you probably did this, but adding some bushes and grass in the back yard will help a lot with sand blow over. cant stop the water but it will be easier to clean off!!
Don't listen to all the negative stuff your living your life the way that you wanted by the sea and if anyone had the opportunity to live by the sea they would take it with sea levels rising this is happening to seaside house's all over the world I fell for you guys because living next to the sea would be the most gorgeous way of living I just hope that you guys get heaps of years living your dream and your house is absolutely gorgess I'll pray for you guys and your beautiful home ❤️🇦🇺,
