This was masterfully crafted, the variety of characters, weapons, locations, the beautiful GBA FE Animations, slight but amazing use of meme match-ups, everything just culminates into the reason why GBA FE feels so good, thanks for this : )
The finality and the brutality of GBA Crits is something else and the animations are so detailed and ooze with the personality that even years later these look sooo good.
10:15 The General crits will never stop being my favorite for sheer impact and cool factor. Dude looking like a medieval mech casually spins a heavy weapon that's bigger than most sprites before releasing all that momentum on a smaller, softer target. What's not to love?
I love this so much. Crit animations have always been my favorite thing about the GBA titles, and it's beautiful to see everything put together here. And I love that you took the time to add in a range of different sprite animations for the same classes, both for differing gender sprites and varied character representation, even going so far as to tailor the opponent to each character. You put a ton of effort into this, and I thank you for that. And for the record, I love the pun clip too.
Oh my god someone actually noticed the extra details I put in there. Thank you *cries* I think some people get confused by that if you scroll down... But it's details like that like how the Husbando Execution exhibition for Awakening had every battle map be the first place you recruit them/see them... Is what makes the stuff I make mine. I hated giving Echidna everything and even had a ROM hack sprite from DoF for it... But after some feedback I decided to remove as much of the ROM hack stuff as possible.
@@shadowofchaos725 Oh yeah, I did see that comment on how you even made a spreadsheet to keep track of the classes and which characters would rep which, and even which map would be fitting. I really respect that kind of effort. I'm not enough of an FE nerd to recognize every setup, but I could tell from the ones I did recognize that you put thought into each one. (I had a chuckle from seeing Eirika get hit by crit Demon Light and then thinking "okay next must be Ephraim taking a crit punch" and being absolutely correct.) I also wanna add that I liked how you used a bunch of different tomes to showcase the mages, which besides adding variety to keep from staling and having different tomes to suit different characters, also doubled as a tome showcase. And my heart soared seeing Serra crit with Aureola, as she's my favorite FE7 mage and that's my favorite Light tome animation (actually my favorite tome animation in general). Gods I wish she could use that in Heroes. PS: I do remember the map thing in your Husbando Execution video as well! Though at the time I watched it, I think I was too proud of Cordelia moving on to mention it.

Ah yes. I remember watching the old compilation sooo many times 10 years ago before I started making FE:Midnight Sun. Definitely one of the videos that accompanied me through the years, and this new montage throws me back. I love all the... "creative liberties" in this one as well. Splendid job, Rey!
I always love the Warrior's slick toss and catch and the fist pump dance they do. As a generic sprite, I like the implication of the unit, the individual character or the generic enemy, having a moment of celebration to themselves cuz of how awesome they are. Dorcas would be the last guy to celebrate a kill like that, but Bartre or Ross would definitely relish and dance in their victory in such a way.
Welcome back! And a plenty of crits are for more iconic moments too And some of the boss HP look way higher than expected so there is probably modification, but it doesn't matter because we are here for the critical animations
Boss HP were taken from Hector Hard mode and FE6 hard mode at least for final bosses. FE8 was taken from actual playthrough saves from 2018. I referenced the two FE wikis for most bosses. They never differed by more than 8 HP at most between those modes. So I actually don't know what you mean by way higher than expected. Batta was modded because Mani Katti would destroy him on first hit the way the tutorial fixes hits. Pretty sure Eliwood and Hector being able to fight says "I'm hacking every single one of these" right at the start. But no I still don't understand how its way higher than expected. All player units had their average stats hacked in unless there were situations that gave a "0% crit". Bosses need higher HP thresholds for the typical player not to one round them.
After looking back at this comment this COULD be misinterpreted as defensive. If you took it that way I do apologize. Was just explaining how I determined each clip. And I understand I could have missed one considering this thing has so many! Lol
No problem, I appreciate it no matter what. I love the Amelia sprite used too. Where it came from? Looks better than vanilla FE8 recruit sprite that is used for all Recruits.
Also, the most awesome moment is when Eliwood DODGES A 98% from the FE7 Fore Dragon then one-shot him with the 4% crit and 40 damage. He is the EliBEST.
This is incredible! Thank you for creating this compilation. I really enjoyed a lot of your past FE videos back when I was getting into FE games myself, so this is super nice to see
