I miss 2013-2015 The 1975. Recently the life on their eyes is gone. The passionate intense performing live is just gone with them. I'm really genuinely worried.
I believe that a lot of what your mentioning has to do with drug abuse. However, have you seen any video of them performing at the Reading festival this year? Matty looks so healthy and happy, the spark is definitely back! :)

Indulging in himself probably is the reason he is able to create the music he does, plenty of artists build an ego, nothing wrong with that. Labeling anything or anyone as pretentious is a flawed, lazy criticism.
