Matty is so inspiring, the amount of thoughtfulness that goes into this band's art is so intersting and well planned; I’m still shocked to be around on the same earth as they are (edit: this was meant in a purely complimentary way not in a literal way you guys please)

It can be argued that the great age of the auteur is over. Yes, perhaps on the silver screen. But, if one looks just beyond that perimeter, one discovers it is alive and quite well elsewhere. Matty Healy’s commentary on his music videos reveal an artist true to his craft, who has something to say that is worthy of being heard. His artistic discernment, his depth and breadth of knowledge, his passion for the medium are all quite remarkable, as is his aesthetic sensibility. Although he has every right to be proud of his accomplishments, his multiple references and homages to those who came before, suggests a humility that is rare amongst filmmakers, and most admirable. At the age of 74, there are not too many people I’d like to sit down with for a long conversation. He is one.
