Thanks Phil. I'm playing a Conn 10m with a Vintage Otto Link 7*. Not really a typical set up for music like this , but just works for me . Love the old vintage saxes.
@@philcorleone5750 that can be true. Think it's the same with most Vintage horns in that you just have to try them out. Some are better than others. Conn definitely have a big sound, project well, and for me personally I like that I feel I am "in" the sound. A lot of new horns project most of the sound forwards whereas these horns feel like you get some of the sound back for yourself. If that makes any sense? Hahha
Thankyou! I recorded into Logic Pro, with an AKG condenser mic and an m/audio interface. Then I used a nice waves plugin compressor... But I think the real important thing is positioning the mic where you feel it makes the sax sound best, and thats kind of personal taste.Hope that helps. Thanks again.
Try looking at some of Bob Reynolds stuff. He has a great way of teaching. Even though some of the lessons may be advanced, the way he thinks and practices is really nice and can be applied to any level.
@@simonmarktaylorsax I´m looking for buying a AKG c3000...are there many differences between c3000 and c3000b?, I use a Focusrite Scarlett solo audio interface....have you tested the Shure KSM 27?, thanks!!!
@@pacomaisanava4390 Hi Paco! I don't really know much about Microphones, I think its all quite personal and down to what works for you. Im happy with the c3000b , but the room you record in is just as important! Im lucky to have a very nice sounding space. Maybe try and borrow some before you buy.
WOW, brilliant 👌🎷
What is your sax/mouthpiece/reed set-up ?

They say a Conn 10M you play for the sound you can get out of it....intonation wise these saxes can be difficult ,true ?
