That's my daughter on stage with him, at 17 minutes in! She's in college now. We had a theater in Chicago, and he was looking for a venue. Great guy. Hey, where's the sound? Thanks for posting!
I hate this show. I do like the fact that it's Paul Daniels. Not a lot, but I like it. But it's the fact that it was produced by the BBC and produced in a manner which intended to ridicule him. There's a sarcastic undercurrent, an overcurrent in fact at times, which is spiteful and completely unnecessary. He's a legend, a childhood hero of my generation. He deserved respect from the BBC, for his many years of service to them. And what he got was a supposed documentary which was obviously snidely pitched to him as sincere, but in truth was just intended to make him appear to be a failure and a washed-up star. Nasty. He was far from that, he was a hugely talented and entertaining man. Mocking him, for no real reason, was spiteful of the BBC.
For what it's worth, it didn't come across like that to me. I was involved with that theater in Chicago, and we had never heard of this world class magician, until he happened upon us. He didn't appear washed up to us- more a wizard who landed on our doorstep and disappeared. It just shows him fighting through system- nothing to do with him being "washed up". Just my two cents.

He was unbelievably good. He honed that 5 pound/20 dollar trick and the single cup routine to perfection. Here is the same act from 1975 at the Wheeltappers'. th-cam.com/video/rl_lPkB9Eps/w-d-xo.html

YEs, they mad ehim look like a complete loser. But he should have expected this from the BBC.
No doubt the Liberal elites running the BBC wanted to put Paul in a negative light because he was a Conservative .

Thanks for this upload!
Paul was an amazing magician, he is a class act
If there is music in the background, the copyright owners will sometimes mute the sound. It's very petty of them. What harm is it doing?
was paul daniels really unknown in America? I would have thought someone would have recogonised him even if it were just brit holiday makers?
Damn, it's "not available"
Let's see if we can magic some sound on this shall we?
Is there any sound?
it' s sporadic

SAying 'fandabbydozzy' to a little American kid... years after it was 'popular' in the U.K..... Cringe.
