Is it me, or is Buggy like the Hercule Satan of One Piece; in his world, he's laughably weak, but if he ever came to our reality, he'd be almost unbeatable.

Buggy often gets underrated though. I would argue he’s stronger then start of series luffy. If we look at their fight buggy was easily dodging nearly all of his attacks and had the upper hand until nami got there.

anyone notice that the bara bara no mi is shaped like a pineapple, just like sponge bob's house, which also just happened to be at the bottom of the sea, where the demon fruits are found. also since it's a kids' show sponge bob can split and rearrange too, as seen in the title song, and of course fish men can have powers like huge strength, slippery skin, and soft bodies just for being born.

He used to be a member of the Roger pirates, he escaped from Impel Down, he was a Shichibukai, he both knows personally and isn't afraid to yell - possibly even fight! - in the faces of "Red Hair" Shanks and Dracule Mihawk, he almost executed Luffy in Loguetown, he was a friend of Portgas D. Ace (one of the top dogs of the Whitebeard Pirates, let's not forget it), he's both faced and allied himself with the Straw Hat pirates...
Sure, most of those were not necessarily the results of his own skill and talents, but they did happen. In many ways, Buggy is far from the worst person they could have picked as a Yonko.
