- He was one of the greatest of the Greatest Generation: Lt. Col. Jerry Coleman...in another typically great example of what radio play-by-play guys could do in the era when they also did television. There's lots of Ted Leitner and Bob Chandler too...with a couple of legends on the field as well: Tony Gwynn and Trevor Hoffman. And the tragic figure Ken Caminiti...
Thank you for posting this game , as a die hard Padres fan, i grew up listening to Jerry Coleman, Ted Leitner, & Bob Chandler calling games on my TV and radio.
Thanks for the game. Always great to hear jerry coleman announce. That coming from a Dodgers fan and growing up with Vin, Don Drysdale and Ross Porter.

Never really got to hear a Coleman called game...all before AtBat & all. I heard of him though. I know now why. A fantastic announcer. I like Leitner too who I have listened to on AtBat. Both great.
Same here. Never heard Coleman much but had always heard how good he was. This game shows how well he did games. Thanks for posting.

How Jerry Coleman made the Broadcasting Hall of Fame is beyond me. He wasnt that good.
Really? you are clueless aren't you. Not only was he a good announcer he was also a real life hero he was in World War 2 and the Korean War . Before you try and crap all over someone do some research.
@@davidsuter3286 Maybe next time you fire off a reply, make sure you read the comment fully. It says that J. Coleman is not a Hall of Fame announcer. He was mediocre, but not Hall of Fame caliber. There is nothing in my post questioning his Military Service. Next time be aware of that, there Scooter.
@@TH3DANKs You still don’t have a clue about what your talking about, if he wasn’t a great announcer he wouldn’t have been doing the CBS Radio Games Of The Week, Playoffs and The World Series. If he wasn’t a good announcer he wouldn’t have gotten The Ford C Frick Award.
