Planned obsolescence This is the world we live in these days... hard to wrap my head around it ... but then again if I just stop and look around it's everywhere! thanks! I did but honestly this one lasted as long and I don't expect my sister will keep the car much longer so it wasn't a worth while investment...the difference in cost isn't massive but the plastic is good enough for 100k+ kms so it will outlive the car as is...
thanks for video In my case we are going to replace the chain set the pump is still fine. Is it wise to replace the entire pump with housing or just the pump itself? And is a INA (130$) pump a good choice or should pay 50$ more for Hepu?
The housing is all plastic... it's the only thing that breaks so if you're doing the job make sure you change the whole thing... can't really comment on the difference in quality but $50 doesn't seem much considering the amount of work to replace it
Hey! I noticed that your car's coolant looks distinctly orange (like mine) after you finished the job. I have a 2013 Tiguan and was expecting mine to be pink or purple. I read that orange is for GM vehicles and that you shouldn't mix different types. What do you think? I need to top up my coolant because the plastic pump is leaking.
hey the color of the coolant is slightly different depending on which manufacturer you use...I believe the pink I was looking for was no longer available...the Prestone I've been using is more on the violet scale than orange - maybe the color isn't coming out very well on the video. Make sure you're not mixing different types of coolant...
I did my water pump on my 2012 VW CC sport 2.0 and after everything was done I had check engine light on I ran the scan and it showed me code p2008 what did I do wrong ? How can I fix it?
@@ETMotorsports I believe so one that’s kinda next to the oil filter and three that are like almost to the water pump (two black and One green ) are those supposed to all Go together with the braket ? Is that what’s causing the problem
Thank you sir. Unfortunately, I stripped the Bolt that holds the belt & I’m really having trouble trying to remove it. I heard it’s reverse thread & I’m turning it that way but it’s stripped out now. Pain in the butt.
Dude, your channel is a goldmine of VAG info. Great content sir!
How do you turn the crank to get the belt on the water pump? You turn on a blue shaft , but where is that attached to?
@larsthorstenson253 the crank pulley has a big bolt on the front of it - size 24...

Best camera work I've seen on this project. Did you consider aluminum water pump?

@@ETMotorsports INA is also not so bad . The price is just for the INA or Hepu its both with housing metal. Thanks i will replace the housing

@thebigbosss1000 that's for the intake manifold - you sure you plugged all the connectors on the bottom and right side?

How did you get the bluetooth to work on the new radio?
I haven't yet... unfortunately they use a separate BT module under the passenger seat that I need to wire in
Hey Boss, what size socket do I need to turn the Crank?
24mm
Thank you sir.

What ever happened to the 524/724td M21?
Sold to a chap in Toronto who was planning on finishing it up
Hey great video, did you replace any other o-rings or gaskets? Cheers for the content 👍
You can/should replace any gaskets you touch really - intake manifold etc
Hey man what do you think you got into that job time wise? Speaking as time needed with skill level of a diesel mechanic.
@@romper4444 you can do this easily in half a day
Good tips thanks
Pump OEM or .......?
Not oem - aftermarket from rockauto.com
Can you reference the actual brand you used, there's so many, thx@@ETMotorsports
