Isn't all bamboo fast growing? I'm pretty sure bamboo growth has been used as a torture/execution method and, if it hasn't it sure as hell could be.
Bamboo can grow really fast,but some grow faster than others, due to where they are.

I figured since I can't find any green bamboo to cut,I would just grow my own.
