Hey guys, thank you for your encouraging words. It has been 13 days since I posted this video. I didn’t expect to receive so many comments and attention. I appreciate all your help no matter a mental support or a little help financially. I did receive small donations from 3 or 4 people until now. So if you are watching this video and happen to be financially capable, I’d be grateful to receive a bit more donation. My mom spent 200k RMB( Chinese currency)to hire a lawyer and find other ways to save me from prison but still failed. That equals almost 30K US dollars. So I’m really broke at this point. Another issue I wanna address is that a lot of you are saying I could try to go abroad to find a job and leave my country. But with my criminal record now, I don’t even know the other countries will even accept me as a visitor, letting alone working in their countries. I’m still very anxious every day, I’m not entirely recovered from my mental issue. And the teaching business is not going on that well also makes me can’t sleep at night. But I guess I’ll be okay eventually. Just a few thoughts I wanna share after seeing your comments. I can’t reply one by one and I’m sorry cuz there are so many comments. I would research other countries that accept your lifestyle, as an entrenuper, you can be a consultant to other companies. I know universities look for foreign language teachers, market yourself as bi-lingual language teacher, research canada, usa, uk, germany, etc, they do not look at history, bc their hiring consultant services. You have all the skills to start your own business, you also can be a travel blogger, or when people want to come to china and travel they can hire you to show all the history and food people are interested. Think out of the box and use your talents, you are not unlucky, i feel this hiccup will make you stronger, and i believe promote english/chinese to schools, embassys, companies. Its a valuable skill. We have heard these stories about being gay, moms will always love you no matter what. Dads will love you silently, he needs his time. You can come to other countries, look at immigration paperwork, it will outline all the rules, and my belief is just apply for visas to go travel there and then you can see if you like the area, but always read each countries rules, you are extremely smart, and talented. So now at this point, just apply. I have friends om hellotalk, who said they applied to uk, usa, and it took a year. But finally got approval, they also stated that wechat is monitored and government knows whats written there. So continue to post your journey here, do a couplr of videos of your towns, festivals, history, i am telling people are interested in these things like MONKEYKING here on youtube amd others, some talk about history of the dynastys and how they lived eat and dressed, were other youtubers, you will find your niche, i know it. You will be blessed, keep thinking positive, manifestation, so many people are here for you. ❤

Your dad knew you were gay when you were young. He thought that verbal abuse and physical abuse could change you. My nephew was in the same situation; my brother-in-law verbally, mentally, and physically abused him. He thought he could beat the gay out of him. That is a wrong moral; an uneducated person would feel like that. My nephew grew up, succeeded, and graduated from college. He has nothing else to say. corporal punishment of children is completely illegal in over 60 countries worldwide. of course, the US is not on this list. it is mainly the result of the 1989 _UN Convention on the Rights of the Child_ . however, Sweden was the first country prohibiting any corporal punishment of children in 1979. the US is behind in so many areas denying their citizens fundamental rights.
In my case was verbal abuse by part of my uncles, as well as physical one by one of them, not to mention my sister dear who had a very good delection for demeaning words towards me in order to weaken my persona, I don't know how I didn't turned worse; the hand of GOD!! Nowadays, I larrned to live in peace with myself, I don't have a relationship because I couldn't live like a normal person since I was almost crazy for twenty years of my functional life. That's what the actions of a sicko and a dysfunctional surrounding can do to anybody. Thanks God I'm a much better person this days.

I think you can apply to AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺, as a refugee. I have a Malaysian friend who applied this way and was successful. He now married to a wonderful husband.
I think It would depend on the category of your conviction for you to get an Australian visa. But you certainly need to get out of your present country for you to be free of harassment and stigma. I wish you all the very best for your future. Unfortunately I am not in a position to help you financially but I'm sure there are some who will be. Such an honest video. No one should be jailed for being gay or posting videos. You have options outside of your country (as others have said) to apply for asylum. However, I presume that taking care of your mother is a priority for you. So you are in a difficult position. Be careful and know that there are places of asylum for people like you. And your English is excellent - and I can see you must be an excellent teacher of English or Chinese. If there are ways that your subscribers can help - just let us know.

I just came out to my parents 4 days ago! I thought I would have never told them... But yeah, I'm relieved that they accepted everything well. I hope your family will accept who you are soon!
So sorry you had to go through all of that. As a Chinese only son in my family, my parents were not accepting of my being gay as well. My dad reacted the same way as yours. Although I feel that Chinese upbringing do have it’s toxic traits, you have to be yourself in order to be at ease with your feelings. It will be rough in the beginning but it will get better. I’ve been out for 40 yrs now and happily married to my husband. But for that to happen, you need to move to a better country that will accept you for who you are and not criminalize you for it.

I am the child of first generation Chinese immigrants in Canada. I have bad mental health problems from their abhse and toxicity. I feel immense proessure to succeed as the only child. I am also gay. If I come out now at 17, they honestly would react the same way. I cannot imagine what you are going through: surviving the corupt CC Chinese jail system as a gay man and then forced out of the closest in a country with mire regressive views and policies on LGBTQ rights and acceptance. I feel your pain..... I went through the same experience in Malaysia..... I was arrested on trumped up changes, thrown into jail and spent 27 months in hell fighting for my freedom. I was finally found non guilty of any crime and freed..... I was 95kg when I was arrested and when I was acquitted on 14 October 2024 I weighed 64 kg....at the age of 67 yrs this is no joke. I touched deaths door twice. The Malaysian Government run the drugs in Malaysia which is a multi billion dollar business and in my life I have never seen a Government destroy their own people by the amount of drugs they sell on the streets of Malaysia and in the Prison... It's a complete disgrace So my friend.....I truly feel your pain God bless you with abundance and love Kind regards

Sex is as natural as eating - and jailing people for sex videos is as rational as jailing people for recording themselves eating. If nobody is harmed - it's not a crime, it's prejudice.

If my application fails, I can’t even go back to China and then I don’t know where else I can go. My ultimate goal is to move to western country. And Australia is really a good choice. But applying for that type of visa is never a guarantee. That’s my concern.

There are many Chinese migrants in Australia, Eddie. They seem to fit in well. They are good in business, and their children are diligent students, many of whom end up in the professions in this country. Australia is a tolerant society, and it is okay to be who you are. I think an application for refugee status would be favourably considered. (There is a shortage of school teachers in Australia, also).
It's best for you to emigrate. The more people emigrate from China, the sooner the Chinese dictatorship will crumble. I love your Chinese lessons and I will be rewatching them again and again, because it helps me to acquire the language.

Wow. A lot to unpack here!! First off, what’s done is done. It can’t be changed and while it’s easy to say that it’s harder to accept it. From this moment forward, you are starting a new life. I challenge you to turn all that anger into positive action. It won’t be easy and you will have ups and downs but I’m here and so are many others to encourage and support you. You aren’t alone even though I know it feels like it right now. I lived in China in 2010 and met a good gay friend who now lives in Wuhan and he told me stories about how hard it was being gay in China. It was tough for me growing up in a small town in America but he told me all kinds of stories so I just want you to know I understand completely where you are coming from. It’s scary and lonely feeling but we are here for you. Secondly, I strongly believe in karma. I truly believe when we are unjustly wronged that good things come back to us. I don’t know what exactly those things are but as long as we continue to put out good energy we will be rewarded by the universe. I wish I could say tomorrow you will get the good karma back but it may be tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. But it is coming in whatever shape or form because going to prison for consensual acts is barbaric. You are very strong to be able to get through it all. I’m not sure I could do it. You definitely don't deserve to be treated like that. You are a beautiful soul. The "crime" that you were committed for would surely be taken into consideration. And frankly quite a few forward thinking nations would probably grant you protected status because of it. Do not give up on yourself. You can't let them win. Chinese has more bathhouses than the United States and Canada. So given that it has a population of billions, only a dozen is crying on social media, because everyone else is happy with the culture that breed export quality gay men that do not go around with blue or green hair and complain about not having a husband in a country where gay marriages are legal. Life is hard and much harder for people like us. We have to stay woke (being always aware) and always calculating our risks in every movement in every country. Most people do not know that scientifically (well documented but often censured out) that, over 1500 different species will mate with its own sex at times, even with other options. We are very much apart of human nature and also in many species. However, to be arrested for just being you, is so inhumane. Eddie you are still loved and supported in this gay family network we all have our stories). I'm a U.S black gay man and my first love, was with a South Korean soldier, 40 years ago. We both were serving as soldiers in the military, had a great love for each other and would have been married, if we had those rights back then. I'm all about keep sharing our stories and support one another. Our love matters, always has and its just as wonderful as anyone else's in the straight world. We have to stay safe and keep pushing for our rights in loving and supporting each other. We must never stop praying and never forget to help the next generation of us, in every way possible.

Dear boy, your parents always knew you are gay. It's who you are. I can identify, I was beaten, physically and emotionally because I was gay. It was tough, because I knew from a young age, but I tried to be the "straight" son for a long time. I learned that it is not my problem to try to satisfy others, even my parents. I am surprised that you didn’t know that pornography is a crime in China. This law wasn’t strictly enforced when I was there, and a lot of sites were accessible without the use of a VPN. However, local and temporary crackdowns were frequent. You are right about the fact that it has now become much more difficult for you to get a visa for Western countries, since all of them require a clear criminal record. However, since you are punished due to something which isn’t considered a crime in the West, and may face further persecutions if you stay in China, you are qualified for political asylum. But (here is the catch) you have to get out of China first and be physically present in the country where you intend to apply for political asylum, in order to do which you need a visa. Absurd system, and this is why we have boats coming in. Also I doubt if you can even get a passport from the Chinese authorities. I can’t speak for what people privately share on WeChat ( that was probably his major mistake since Chinese apps are really under the firm control of the party- state) but there are plenty of Chinese gay boys sharing their content on Twitter. They aren’t all getting in trouble for it either. As for the western visa situation, I have a gay Chinese friend from BJ, who’s a computer scientist and has been rejected 2x for USA tourist visa in the past 4 years and was recently rejected for a French visa. He’s travelled all over Asia and once to England so he’s shown he’s not just trying to stay illegally post his tourist visa. My point in mentioning him is that western embassies have many, many reasons to reject Chinese applicants these days. It’s part of the reason that 走線 has become sooo popular
The issue was probably he got too big which caught the attention of the authorities. All these untaxed money flowing in on WeChat. Which can be easily interpreted as scamming. Then they probably checked his chat history and found out he was selling porn which borderline landed in prostitution. It’s unfortunate and I feel bad for him. Hopefully he can eventually move to a different country.

Wow, that is a heavy story. So sorry you were forced to go through that. There must be a country to which you can emigrate. I'm a gay American in Japan and find that most Japanese are very level headed and don't care about the gay thing at all--as long as it's not in their face and as long as they don't have to talk about it. Japan desperately needs more young people here because the population is aging, and you are educated which would help considerably. The incarceration ordeal was an obvious attack on your human rights so they might well be understanding. Whatever, best of everything to you always.

Hey guys, thank you for your encouraging words. It has been 13 days since I posted this video. I didn’t expect to receive so many comments and attention. I appreciate all your help no matter a mental support or a little help financially. I did receive small donations from 3 or 4 people until now. So if you are watching this video and happen to be financially capable, I’d be grateful to receive a bit more donation. My mom spent 200k RMB( Chinese currency)to hire a lawyer and find other ways to save me from prison but still failed. That equals almost 30K US dollars. So I’m really broke at this point. I would research other countries that accept your lifestyle, as an entrenuper, you can be a consultant to other companies. I know universities look for foreign language teachers, market yourself as bi-lingual language teacher, research canada, usa, uk, germany, etc, they do not look at history, bc their hiring consultant services. You have all the skills to start your own business, you also can be a travel blogger, or when people want to come to china and travel they can hire you to show all the history and food people are interested. Think out of the box and use your talents, you are not unlucky, i feel this hiccup will make you stronger, and i believe promote english/chinese to schools, embassys, companies. Its a valuable skill.

You can come to other countries, look at immigration paperwork, it will outline all the rules, and my belief is just apply for visas to go travel there and then you can see if you like the area, but always read each countries rules, you are extremely smart, and talented. But finally got approval, they also stated that wechat is monitored and government knows whats written there. So continue to post your journey here, do a couplr of videos of your towns, festivals, history, i am telling people are interested in these things like MONKEYKING here on youtube amd others, some talk about history of the dynastys and how they lived eat and dressed, were other youtubers, you will find your niche, i know it.

I think you can apply to AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺, as a refugee. I have a Malaysian friend who applied this way and was successful. He now married to a wonderful husband.
I think It would depend on the category of your conviction for you to get an Australian visa. But you certainly need to get out of your present country for you to be free of harassment and stigma. Such an honest video. No one should be jailed for being gay or posting videos. You have options outside of your country (as others have said) to apply for asylum. However, I presume that taking care of your mother is a priority for you. So you are in a difficult position. Be careful and know that there are places of asylum for people like you. So sorry you had to go through all of that. As a Chinese only son in my family, my parents were not accepting of my being gay as well. My dad reacted the same way as yours. Although I feel that Chinese upbringing do have it’s toxic traits, you have to be yourself in order to be at ease with your feelings. It will be rough in the beginning but it will get better. I’ve been out for 40 yrs now and happily married to my husband. But for that to happen, you need to move to a better country that will accept you for who you are and not criminalize you for it.

If I come out now at 17, they honestly would react the same way. I cannot imagine what you are going through: surviving the corupt CC Chinese jail system as a gay man and then forced out of the closest in a country with mire regressive views and policies on LGBTQ rights and acceptance. If my application fails, I can’t even go back to China and then I don’t know where else I can go. My ultimate goal is to move to western country. And Australia is really a good choice. But applying for that type of visa is never a guarantee. That’s my concern.

They are good in business, and their children are diligent students, many of whom end up in the professions in this country. Australia is a tolerant society, and it is okay to be who you are. I think an application for refugee status would be favourably considered. (There is a shortage of school teachers in Australia, also).

Wow. A lot to unpack here!! First off, what’s done is done. It can’t be changed and while it’s easy to say that it’s harder to accept it. From this moment forward, you are starting a new life. I challenge you to turn all that anger into positive action. It won’t be easy and you will have ups and downs but I’m here and so are many others to encourage and support you. You aren’t alone even though I know it feels like it right now. I lived in China in 2010 and met a good gay friend who now lives in Wuhan and he told me stories about how hard it was being gay in China. It was tough for me growing up in a small town in America but he told me all kinds of stories so I just want you to know I understand completely where you are coming from. It’s scary and lonely feeling but we are here for you.
Secondly, I strongly believe in karma. I truly believe when we are unjustly wronged that good things come back to us. I don’t know what exactly those things are but as long as we continue to put out good energy we will be rewarded by the universe. I wish I could say tomorrow you will get the good karma back but it may be tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. But it is coming in whatever shape or form because going to prison for consensual acts is barbaric. You are very strong to be able to get through it all. I’m not sure I could do it. I admire you for staying strong. You got through one battle, you can get through the next!!

No shame in any of it but your excellent English should be catapulting you in some type of career and for it to not be has to be so frustrating. All the work and effort to get such a mastery level for things to not work out is rough. Chinese has more bathhouses than the United States and Canada. So given that it has a population of billions, only a dozen is crying on social media, because everyone else is happy with the culture that breed export quality gay men that do not go around with blue or green hair and complain about not having a husband in a country where gay marriages are legal. Point is, you can decide not to play victim. Closet Queens exist even in places like Paris or the Netherlands, so if gays in China are hiding, so what? Life is hard and much harder for people like us. We have to stay woke (being always aware) and always calculating our risks in every movement in every country. Most people do not know that scientifically (well documented but often censured out) that, over 1500 different species will mate with its own sex at times, even with other options. We are very much apart of human nature and also in many species. However, to be arrested for just being you, is so inhumane. Eddie you are still loved and supported in this gay family network we all have our stories). I'm a U.S black gay man and my first love, was with a South Korean soldier, 40 years ago. We both were serving as soldiers in the military, had a great love for each other and would have been married, if we had those rights back then. I'm all about keep sharing our stories and support one another. Our love matters, always has and its just as wonderful as anyone else's in the straight world. We have to stay safe and keep pushing for our rights in loving and supporting each other. We must never stop praying and never forget to help the next generation of us, in every way possible.

it's 'taboo' but it is not illegal. China de-criminalised same-sex behaviour in 1997, quite some years ahead of the US as a whole (only since 2003).
It's not illegal btw and people are very tolerant of gays there. They just don't want it splashed all over the face.Or rather, they prefer they just stay in the closet

Dear boy, your parents always knew you are gay. It's who you are. I can identify, I was beaten, physically and emotionally because I was gay. It was tough, because I knew from a young age, but I tried to be the "straight" son for a long time. I learned that it is not my problem to try to satisfy others, even my parents. I am surprised that you didn’t know that pornography is a crime in China. This law wasn’t strictly enforced when I was there, and a lot of sites were accessible without the use of a VPN. However, local and temporary crackdowns were frequent. You are right about the fact that it has now become much more difficult for you to get a visa for Western countries, since all of them require a clear criminal record. However, since you are punished due to something which isn’t considered a crime in the West, and may face further persecutions if you stay in China, you are qualified for political asylum. But (here is the catch) you have to get out of China first and be physically present in the country where you intend to apply for political asylum, in order to do which you need a visa. Absurd system, and this is why we have boats coming in. Also I doubt if you can even get a passport from the Chinese authorities. Your case reminds me of the ‘passeport jaune’ they used to have in France. It was a miserable system. À propos, it seems that we are from the same city and I am also unemployed.
I think he can be forgiven for not understanding the vagaries of all Chinese laws regarding sex and porn. Most people think about porn as involving at least two people and this is not the type of content he was creating. Furthermore, why him? Was it just a case of 殺雞儆猴? I can’t speak for what people privately share on WeChat ( that was probably his major mistake since Chinese apps are really under the firm control of the party- state) but there are plenty of Chinese gay boys sharing their content on Twitter. They aren’t all getting in trouble for it either.
As for the western visa situation, I have a gay Chinese friend from BJ, who’s a computer scientist and has been rejected 2x for USA tourist visa in the past 4 years and was recently rejected for a French visa. He’s travelled all over Asia and once to England so he’s shown he’s not just trying to stay illegally post his tourist visa. My point in mentioning him is that western embassies have many, many reasons to reject Chinese applicants these days. It’s part of the reason that 走線 has become sooo popular
The issue was probably he got too big which caught the attention of the authorities. All these untaxed money flowing in on WeChat. Which can be easily interpreted as scamming. Then they probably checked his chat history and found out he was selling porn which borderline landed in prostitution. It’s unfortunate and I feel bad for him. Hopefully he can eventually move to a different country.
Yeh its time to take flight and spread your wings… you cannot change who you are and why would you want to? You are still young and handsome but mentally you are still not there yet… that takes longer to recover. Wow, that is a heavy story. So sorry you were forced to go through that. There must be a country to which you can emigrate. I'm a gay American in Japan and find that most Japanese are very level headed and don't care about the gay thing at all--as long as it's not in their face and as long as they don't have to talk about it. Japan desperately needs more young people here because the population is aging, and you are educated which would help considerably. The incarceration ordeal was an obvious attack on your human rights so they might well be understanding. Whatever, best of everything to you always.
So sorry for what you went through. Your experiences and being imprisoned is so saddening to hear. I wish China and everywhere else that harms homophobia get a learning lesson one day, so they and their people can come together and love people for who they are.

I’m an American gay guy in my mid 20s. Ur channel came up in recs. Watched out of curiosity. First of all know this, you’d NOT be better off in America or the UK/West. This regime is A DYSTOPIAN NIGHTMARE. Do NOT DESPAIR. There are millions of people, literally all across this country who live on the streets in destitution, even in some of the “richest states and cities”, just the other night I dropped off the ballot for our meaningless fake election and a poor woman was sleeping on the ground outside the local library in “rich town” with nothing but a dusty blanket to her name. For a fake election between two sociopaths bribed billions of dollars to pass laws to benefit corporations while our roads, bridges and infrastructure falls apart on a daily basis and we cant even afford healthcare. I am so sorry you went through this and i have a lot of sympathy for the anger you feel. But I must ask, what exactly was the violation? This seems like an usually harsh sentence for something which I didn’t even think was illegal in the PRC? Which is making monetized adult content? Is it because of some tax issues or not reporting such income? Because in America you’d be in trouble for that kind of thing too. I don’t really believe in incarceration for victimless, nonviolent offenses. So if there is a law against making adult content period, that is quite unfortunate and again i really feel bad for you and DM me if u want to chat.
