  • In the village of Shiridao in North Goa, there is a century-old bakery called the St Anthony Bakery that is known for its rich history and delicious bread.
Unlike the traditional Goan pao, this bakery offers a variety of unique breads such as katre pao, kakon, and poiye that are filled with an array of delightful flavors.
We, at Goan Appetit Season 2, couldn't resist the warm, yeasty call. Entering the bakery was like stepping through a portal to a simpler time, where Nazareth Fernandes and his family kneaded tradition with every flour-dusted hand.
Over crackling flames and rising dough, we learned the secrets of their age-old recipes, each fold and scoop echoing generations of bread-making mastery.
But change, like yeast, works its magic even in the oldest ovens. We discovered how the bakery evolved, embracing new tastes while cherishing the old.
Witnessing their passion, their hands weaving familiar and newfound delights, we understood that this wasn't just a bakery; it was a legacy shared, a testament to the enduring soul of Goan bread.
So, if you're ever in Shiridao, follow the whispers of warm ovens and find yourself at this timeless haven.
Let's raise a crusty toast to Nazareth's bakery, a place where history kneads the future, one delicious bite at a time.

Thank you Nazereth for keeping up the goan tradition of baking bread. As a lot of our Goans are giving up their ancestral occupations you are one of the few who still are keeping up the occupation of your ancestors. Well done and may God bless you and your work to serve Goans with your fantastic bread.

Nazerth, while the introduction was very nice you need to highlight the name of the bakery. Also the nutritional information that you have given is in correct. I am a die hard Goan, and I love the Poee, but let's stick to true facts.

Yeah that's what, a lot of care and effort goes into making good quality bread. We need to support our local poders for that!
