I remember trying one out in film school back in 2018. I was very weak and only 38-40kg at the time (recovering from not eating while depressed, am already petite and didn't exercise back then) and I didn't have much trouble with it as it was distributed around my body and I wasn't actually carrying it all in my arms or solely my back.

On the one I'm building the arm weighs 3Kg, then when I put a 2.5Kg weight on to test the springs and it maxed out the springs :'( Back the drawing board.

annoying... make sure you are accounting for the weight of the sled in that number too

@@SteadiRed I've just ordered some more aluminium to be bent up for the vertical sections of the arms, to make them taller and I will remake them. Bit of a backwards step in finishing it and a bit more expense, but the extra height will allow the angle of the spring to be greater and more space to fit a larger spring. I was guessing at the dimensions working from videos, having never seen one for real and as for the springs, they came out of an old washing machine and may prove to not be strong enough :(

Is there a brand that makes a steadycam vest for small rigs? For a mirrorless?
I recently purchased the z9 and it hardly fits the Ronin S. My footage is smooth but not as smooth as it could be. Can't seem to find a small vest/ system for cameras that size...
