    I have had a few people mention they feel like they are taking advantage of the situation with this info being out there for free. I want to let you all know that I am doing this to help spread the word of my knowledge on the sport to bring more interest into the seminars that my wife and I have been hosting around the world....
    The best thing you could do is to spread the word about this TH-cam Channel and to get this info out there for people to use. There isn't enough solid resources for information with experience to back it up and there is a huge void with first hand experience as a top level archer. You can help out the community at large and encourage it to grow.
    Support for this channel is generated from views, subscribers and the books/seminars that we have available on my website www.jakekaminski.com
    There is also Amazon Affiliate links to tools and gear listed in the description so be sure to check that stuff out if you are in need of the tools or equipment I use.
    A book containing the information from the tuning series is in the works and I am excited to get that out there as another resource for you, the archery community to enjoy.

    Thank you so much for this jake! I've been learning on my own for the past 2-3 months and some of the videos on yt contradict each other so i feel like ive been messing my form up a lot. Ive broke tons of arrows and shit in my backyard trying out different things ive seen on yt. I have gotten a lot more consistent on target shots lately. After I saw just this video I've improved way more with my form. I just need to get my recurve's limbs fixed, they've warped, and i think it's because of the way i've learned to string my bow.

    when you pull a 50 lb bow .... its 50 back and 50 forward (50possitive - 50negative) = 0 or stasis...
    not 25 + 25 =50.
    i could be wrong but i don't think so...

    I’m a new shooter - cross dominant in hands and arms and yet left eye dominant - shooting right was way easier but I switched for accuracy to left - I can tell I am so weak in my right and I have bruises to show! I don’t know if you have videos for cross dominant issues but so far you have been so helpful - thank you!

  • @avafsasf
    @avafsasf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Great explanation on the direction and especially movement vs muscle concept - I think I have this problem, when I expand then there's this feeling when I try hard to pull with my back but it sometimes kind of feels like the harder I pull the bow gives much more resistance than it should. I'll definitely try to think about movement next time. Thanks Jake!

    I am a new archer just start 3 month ago. Really want to thank you about the point of “bow arm towards 10ring”. It really helps me getting more 9 instead of 8. At first I think it is some kind of opinion bias, but the point card did not lie. I still make mistake time to time(which land in blue), but it really helps tighten those “good shots”.

    I shot competitively for a quite a while, mostly state and regional. I desperately wish that I found this series when I started so long ago...or at least that my coaches did. It would have saved me a lot of pain and improved my shooting in greatly. At least my archery going forward will be much improved and hopefully a bit less painful.

    Hi Jake, thank you for giving your direct feelings during the shot. In my opinion is very important not only to give notions on how to execute the shot, but is also hugely important to learn what a champion thinks during the various steps making the shot process... and also thank you for your fully understandable way of speaking english... bye from Italy!!!

    Awesome video! Yes, drive toward the 10 ring! Also, I get a ton of archers saying they’re using back, but I tell them to focus less on that and instead to touch their shoulder (focus on the movement).
    Any advice for a very right handed archer who has to shoot leftie due to a deformity?

    Thanks Jake! I have a technical question. The arrow and the drawing hand are in a direct line with the target but the Bow arm & the shoulders are part of a triangle not directly in line with the target. How do you push bow hand toward the 10 ring if the angle is slightly different or is it? I am a barebow shooter. Thanks 😊

  • @osmansalem

    Hi
    What if I write, shoot by my left hand, eat by right is it necessary to be left handed recurve bow

  • @TheHadMatters
    @TheHadMatters 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The point about controlling your bow arm in field archery is hard to decipher. What it sounds like you mean to get at is: "Push towards the direction you are pointing your arrow into (including up or down angles for distance adjustment) rather than just directly forward in relation to your body," but the way you phrase it it sounds more like you're saying the opposite: "Push the bow arm forward in relation to your body, independent of what angle you are pointing the arrow into."
    Is the first interpretation correct?

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im saying, push where you want the arrow to land on the target, not straight out of your body (not at the angle you are aiming)

    Jake, I'm very confused by your description of rythm in setting up and taking the shot. You strongly advocate a steady, relatively fast 1.2...3, NOT a slower, more deliberate 1....2........3. But virtually all the Korean Olympians, whom you acknowlege are the best in the world, appear to use the latter rythm: draw (pause), anchor (longer pause), release. Could you please straighten me out on this? I'm trying to fine-tune my form even as we speak. Thanks so much for all your fine work. Best, Chris

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They draw straight to anchor, they are using more of a aim, draw, fire technique.
      Not separating the drawing before anchoring and then pausing before execution.
      Their execution is more of a readiness before they draw the bow and go right into execution of the shot as a whole.

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I am referring to the rhythm of load anchor and transfer, slight pause after 3 before expansion and release within 2-3 seconds after that.

  • @Xinoball

    Um, so if you have a 50lbs bow you actually pull 50lbs with the one hand and push 50lbs with the other. It doesn't really divvy up.

    • @JakeKaminskiArchery
      @JakeKaminskiArchery  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not a stationary object. When you pull a 50lbs bow the bow scale reads 50lbs draw, not 25....

    • @tkfreak1
      @tkfreak1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JakeKaminskiArchery Well yeah, the scale shows 50lbs and as you said according to Newtons 3rd law there is an equivalent force in the opposite direction, ergo also 50lbs.
