- One of the best days of hunting we've ever had. Big groups of mallards right in the decoys. Was slow all day until the last 2 hours. Wind switched and it changed everything.

Yes sir, was a blessed day. Had 1 duck at 3, got there at like 10, and killed 3 limits in 2 hours. Love those kind of hunts where you wait it out and the light switch flips on

What Ive noticed in consecutive day hunts on the same spot is the ducks “Catch on “ and that’s why they circle forever with their past experience with that spot is bad. I fix that by flip flopping by entire spread, shape , species and more .

Thats what it's all about for us. Feet in the water. Nothing quite like finishing a big group of mallards. We fail at it a lot more that we succeed but when it does work out, it more than makes up for the fails. Thanks for watching 👊🏻

Kansas may be an awesome state with great waterfowl hunting, but you know good and well you can’t give up timber hunting
Dont get me wrong, I love timber hunting, but I like getting em in stuff like that better to be honest. We always hunted more buckbrush beaver pond type stuff more than we do timber. Awesome being able to see em more than in the timber. But a good timber is hard to beat and super unique for sure
You know what’s sad, my biologist friend in Kansas swears they’ll have to drain more of these spots in the future.
The water table is drying and farmers need the water over recreational users.
Dim days for Kansas Waterfowl over the next 50 years.

3inch #2 in steel shot. Brand really dont matter as much imo. Every gun is different so you just have to see what shoots best out of your gun. #3s are good to. Hard to wrong with federal, kents etc.

Great video, I just started watching this content and I don’t know much about waterfowl hunting... I’m just wondering what do you do when they are not completely dead? I noticed y’all picked up a few that were still flapping around
It's mostly duck hunting on the content but we pick them up and finish them quickly with either a finisher tool or by ringing the necks.

shooting birds on the water isn't sport
We dont go for the sport of shooting. We are duck hunting. The sport to us is tricking birds, decoying birds, calling birds. Once hes on the water, it's time to effectively dispatch. You wouldn't scare a deer or turkey before you shot at it. Remember that next time you see someone jump one up and cripple it. If shooting was the sport we would just go shoot clays or dove hunt
Shooting ducks off the water. That's pathetic
So me passing on a high percentage shot, to force the duck up and put myself in a lower percentage shot and possibly cripple the bird vs a quick, clean shot on the water is unethical? Doesnt seem like logical thinking to me. Remeber that next time you run one up and cripple it. Do you make deer and turkey run too before you shoot at them? I think the kind of thinking you have is better suited for clay target shooting. The sport is calling, decoying aka tricking the bird into thinking were real ducks. Once hes in there, i care nothing about how "sporty" the shooting is.
Totally unnecessary to start playing music at 15:15. I was really enjoying the video until that point and could only watch for another minute before I was done. Reluctant thumb down from me.
