It wasn't the wind that was wrong, it was the mojo/lucky ducks that weren't facing into the wind causing the ducks to not want to finish.

Great shooting on what was a difficult hunt. Next time they do not decoy right in, try taking in the spinners. Or use the same set up and put the spinners well left or right; depending on the wind direction. Look forward to the next one.
The wind was wrong at first i thought it may have been deep water that’s why they had they decoys close but i woulda pushed them decoys out a lot further than they were to get them to hook and come back down the decoys that and pushed the layout blinds back up the bank more into the natural grass or whatever

Yeah no doubt. We were kinda stuck there so we couldnt adjust. Just had to stick with it and hope things changed. Thankfully the Lord poured em out on us lol. Ill stay all day for groups like that though, thats what gets me up in the mornings

How far were those birds landing at the 4 to 6 minute mark? They looked a wayyyyys out there haha Awesome video as always Jake!
Yeah they were on the edge for sure lol. Prolly 35 to 40. Thats the problem with hunting big water sometimes. Just makes a lot more sense for them to land out far and then swim up. We try to only take birds were confident in though and thankfully we dont lose many. Appreciate you watching!
@@ChasingGreen Absolutely man, best duck hunting channel I’ve found yet! Yes indeed no need for them to land right up in everything haha. We used to hunt lake by the house when it was 12 foot low, not a stitch of cover within 400 yards of the water, a big sand flat pretty much. We didn’t have any layout blinds so we’d carry shovels with us and dig a trench we could lay down in the cover ourselves with burlap. Was only an inch and a half of water, so I cut the keels off my decoys and screwed in an Eyelet sealed up with some epoxy. Used 15 pound monofilament fishing line and 2 ounce bank sinkers. We would slay the birds with only a dozen decoys. We’d get some funny looks at the boat ramp loading up a shovel, a roll of burlap, and old lawn chair cushions 😂

We’d pull the decoys pretty tight to the bank and off to one side or the other (depending on the wind direction) with a few straggler teal dekes right in front, the birds would finish on top of us most days and it was seriously in your face shooting. We once fired 6 shots into a wall of 30 plus teal at maybe 10 yards….only downed 2 birds hahaha I guess we were in awe that we forgot to aim. I’ll never forget that for as long as I live.
What kind of layout have you got? I’m just in the market for one that does it’s job. Nothing TOO fancy
Hoping to do a review video on those soon. We were using the rogers goosebusters low profiles which dont really have much of a frame. They have back pack straps and are more for walk in stuff. I love them but they are not your typical layout.
For big water it's really shallow

Y’all prob could of went out at 11am and killed your limit in no time. I get it tho. Then your spot would of prob been gone. Lol. When it’s real cold like that. The warm up part of the day is when u wanna go.
