45-70 should get hardcast rounds which are extremely common hunting rounds for it irl

Probably either hard cast or up the soft point expansion to like 15-17 and the hollow to 50-60.
No reason it should be on par with 30/06 in terms of expansion

I bagged a plains Bison with the new .44, with a single bullet to the center of the lung. I did it as a test. It brought him down mighty quick! It's my favorite gun in the game! I've been wearing out the crocs in Australia with it! The 10 gauge with slugs is great for charging cape buffalo.

So weird the 45-70 can't pen, but the .44 can pen literally everything. I went hunting with it just to use it, and i was one shotting everything. And it can penetrate buffalo, cause I've seen it penetrate fully through a banteng and those are basically the same animal. The amount of surprise i had on my face when i shot a banteng and claimed it only to see the .44 go all the way through its upper body and both lungs. That gun either needs to go all the way to lvl 9 animals, or be nerfed cause no way a gun is one shotting lvl 9 with ease through the whole body when thats not even its class.

In my opinion, I do better using the high expansion rounds in the 45-70 and just taking broadside lung shots. It does not have enough penetration in my opinion at the higher level creatures to try for heart shots. The amount of moose I feel like would die only to miss vital organs from the front is enough to drive me crazy. I like the gun a lot though.

Irl there are a couple of .454 lever rifles and that would break the game with one shot instant kills any angle on class 4-9
I think cotw should introduce new large calibres that zero to 300 yds and broadside go half way through 2nd lung for intended class or introduce hardcast 45.70 - 60 pen and add 10 pen to .338 and 300 polymer tips and debuff .44 at 300 yds to halve pen to single lung 3-8 class and class 9 debuff to single lung any distance

You should hunt with the .44 lever on class 9 animals it should be a class 3-9 because IRL the 44 bullet is bigger then the 300.
