    One thing I really like about this is that it doesn't use klipperscreen so you can have a more minimal build on your printer. I'm running the btt pi 1.2 only printers and that doesn't lead to the highest performance. When I removed klipperscreen and went with this I noticed better connection quality from my printer.

      Nice, good call out, it being lighter is an advantage for sure.

    It has potential, it would be amazing if Happy Hare could be installed to control the ERCF.

    • @ChrisRiley

      That would be cool! We will see what they do. Fingers crossed.

      Thanks for watching! I am not that familiar with Orca yet, but prusa slicer gives you lots of options to control the filament change. I will have a closer look at Orca.

    only if we didnt have something that could fit in our pockets and carry with us anywhere. This product would be great.

    First, thank you for awesome videos to help new Klipper converts, like me. Would you consider doing a video on the Next Steps? I'm not clear on the sequence of getting from the Klipper install to good prints. Is this the sequence?
    1. Z offset
    2. Tilt screws adjust
    3. Bed mesh
    4. Orca calibrations
    5. Tuning with the adxl gizmo
    Thank you!

      Thank you! I have some other Klipper setup videos like this, but yes, you have the order correct of how I would do it.

    I have a ultramaker 3 printer. What would be a good controller to replace the ultimaker one with. It is 2 head, printer. Doing a episode on doing generic upgrades for older good printers that are no-longer supported.

    • @ChrisRiley

      That's a good question Ultimaker was kind of there own animal, not sure what would be compatible. I do have some videos in the works where we do strait up swap outs to make bad machines better.

    • @servant74

      My guess is a good mother board and Merlin or the combo setup used on Vorons but not driven as hard. For Ultimakers a new hot end setup would be useful as their heads wear out (mine is getting that way). The UM have NFC readers for filament that some use but it is optional.

    It would be great if the USB could store firmware for switching Klipper\bambu at any time

    • @ChrisRiley

      I hope we see that as a feature soon.

    BTT are really good with firmware updates and implementing users feature requests. The Panda Touch has got a whole lot better since it's initial release. You can buy a spare USB dock for about $19 so you can take the Touch in to a different room and just dock it, rather than messing about with switches etc, which is probably a good idea as the battery life is pretty poor.
    The Panda Touch firmware is currently on version 1.0.6 . Apparently 1.0.7.1 will have larger thumbnails so maybe they will do the same to the K-Touch.

      Agreed, it been a while since I did this one, I need to go check and see if there is anything new.

    Does this work with the BTT PWR like the Panda Touch does? Do you plan to do a review of the PWR?

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Haven't seen that yet, we will see if they send one to check out!

  • @woodwaker1

    Looks promising, will see what features they add. The limit I see is that it only supports Klipper. I have a Prusa, a Bambu and a MagnetoX along with 3 Rat Rigs, that I can control all with a small PC, dual displays a keyboard and mouse.

    • @ChrisRiley

      Agreed, not enough features and really only good in a Klipper farm.

  • @timmturner

    It should have a third switch option which enables a magnetic switch and automatically switches to battery mode when undocked.
    It would still reboot but much less fiddly.
    Personally I recommend using an inexpensive or repurposed tablet and the web interface but it's good to have other options.

    • @ChrisRiley

      Yeah, the power switching is a bit clunky for sure.

    I have both the panda and k touch. I was going to just convert the panda but it got delayed so long and when it did come out it had no clear instructions on how to do it. So I just bought the k touch. Now what do I think of it...meh. I kind of find it useless. I have a Pi and btt 5 inch screen and a btt pad 7 and I much prefer klipper screen. I know they are not the same but I was hoping to get way more options. Like macros, multiple fan control etc. So I hope BTT adds options soon

    • @ChrisRiley

      I am with you, I think "meh" says it all. Looking forward to see what features they add.

    How much is a pi zero 2w + touch screen to run KlipperScreen?

    • @ChrisRiley

      These Pi screens can be pricey, but you can probably get it done for about the same price.

    In 5V mode, does it charge the battery?
    Who designs things that way 🤔 It shouldn't be difficult to use 5V to charge and balance the battery when docked, and run all the time from the battery.

    • @ChrisRiley

      Agreed, the way they did it is a bit confusing. It does charge in 5v.

    It looks like they've repurposed the Panda Touch hardware into the K-Touch.

    • @JamesTenniswood

      They did say they were going to do exactly that (due to the risk of bamboo changing their setup at anytime they want)

    • @Armor3dprinting

      That's exactly what they did

      @ChrisRiley they pushed a small update, at least you use the usb on the side now.

    battery management in 2024 shouldn't be a thing manually. Lipo's should only be charged to 80% EVER! Shouldn't matter if it's running on the dock or not.

    • @ChrisRiley

      Agreed, this part kind of confused me.

    Stopped watching when he couldn't read specs he was showcasing. "800x600 resolution"...clearly says 800x480 as he is reading/showing. fail.
