So true!! As a Trucker I deliver to factories and warehouses and when I'm in a dock I check out to see if they have rail service and check out their track layout, I've been going to Madison Alabama to the Toyota plant and have been eyeballing their auto rack loading tracks, they use 2 leased GP40-2S then build their train for a interchange track with NS, I like to sketch interesting buildings too!!
Thank you! Be sure to tune in for the January 2024 Layout Update. It will be a big one showing the start of the next phase that I will be working on during 2024.
WOW....very nice.....l'm a hi-rail 3-rail guy.....your ho layout is really realistic....I'm impressed...I like all the trees you have on the layout..your weathering is A+..... NICE....
Not only do you know the in's and out's of real railroading, you're also a great artist who can translate the real world into 1:87th scale with a great deal of accuracy. Your engines glide to a stop and start that few have managed to emulate in this hobby. Your workshop and inventory are beyond incredible. Love the channel.
Well done... The layout detail always looks excellent, as does the trackwork... The backdrops really do make a huge difference for the shallow scenes. The layout certainly looks "southern" with stuff growing anywhere possible... Won't be long before the old car and house are taken over by kudzoo, eh? lol After moving up to the northern Plains region about ten years ago from Tennessee, I am still getting used to finding old homesteads that would have disappeared decades ago had they been down south in the heat, humidity and overgrowth. Always a pleasure to see your progress, especially with your firsthand eye for detail.
That's one of the better layout tours! You have done an excellent job with your track planning and installation. The scenery is awesome and goes well with your backdrops. I'm in awe of your distant cement plant. Keep up the great work!
That’s absolutely awesome and museum quality work indeed right down to the little track mobile! Railroads are never completely finished! Thanks for sharing!👏👍
Tim, as a locomotive engineer I love watching your realistic layout operations. You have a great strategic plan for the future of your railroad. Can’t wait to watch more!
I changed runs as a Trucker so now I drive all night and sleep thru the day so I've had to binge watch to get caught up with your layout building Tim, I'm still a massive fan of your work and the great progress you've made so far!!
Hi Tim, thanks for posting this update and I'm looking forward to the next one and many more after that. I've already watched Diesel loco basics 3 times now.
Amazing Progress Tim! If I ever start to feel tired of working on my layout I come to watch a video of yours for inspiration. Thanks for sharing with us.
Wonderful progress on the layout. I really like your methodology for avoiding a plywood jungle…having “finished” sections can be inspirational, for sure. Especially in the work shop section. I look forward to further layout updates. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely love it, Tim. I avidly await to see the coming progress slated for 2024. That "mysterious" creature seems to be quite the stealthy railfan. LOL. Sure hope an even stealthier railfan can get a somewhat clear shot of him lurking in the shadows.😉
Thanks! The helix will take the track down to the main yard which is set at 44”. The yard includes staging which will go under the part of the layout in an adjacent room.
Tim I have questions: As an engineer I think I remember you saying that the SD-40-2 was your favorite locomotive? Do you prefer GE or EMD road locomotives? Could you do a piece about your locomotive roster? Looks like you've got quite a variety of locomotives!! Thanks for doing these updates! Your attention to scenery details is outstanding! Thanks again!
Thanks! I prefer the GEVO units for road trains, especially the ES44AC. I prefer the SD40-2 for yard and local service. I do plan on making a video about the SC roster I just need to complete a few more models. Stay tuned!
@@SeaboardCentral glad you like it. Just like you, I am a rail. 25+ yrs and look all over for details. I started with CSX, went to a shortline in Michigan and now work on the old Camas Prairie in Idaho. Stay safe and keep the videos coming.
My main goal ever since I started was to make the Seaboard Central seem like a real railroad in the same sense as the Virginia and Ohio or the Utah Belt which was what inspired me back when I created it.
Fantastic details, backdrops, scenery, and operation!
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Things are coming along. Looks great Tim!
Thanks Josh! I really appreciate it.
Well done Tim. As a former NS conductor, I really appreciate the expertise you have brought to the hobby with your Engineer experience.
Thanks! Yeah I always say my day job is just research for the model railroad.
@@SeaboardCentral I can relate. LOL

Thanks for watching! The workshop area really comes in handy building this layout.
Tim, Your scenery details are exceptional. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Roy!
I look forward every weekend to my Seaboard Central fix. Just love watching those engines switch. That grade crossing/ station is now my favourite.
Thanks! Glad you like it. I still have more to do in the area but I am glad I was able to get it to this point for the video.
Love the layout. Great attention to detail.

Great update….. Looking forward the advance planning for 2024, looks like it covers great details of the build out.
Thanks! You’ll start to see some big additions soon. Stay tuned!
Years ago I was a Intern car checker with CN. You really operate your line as a railroad.
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
absolutely love the depth of your scenes. so much done in such little space
Thank you! The photo backdrops really do help make it seem much larger.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to seeing the progress. Great work.

Thanks! Completing each module to a semi finished look is great for keeping one motivated to continue working.
YES!!! One small section at the time. It can become overwhelming at times if you let it!!
Beautiful work.
Thank you!
Great looking work! Thanks Tim for sharing your layout with us.
Thanks for watching!
I CAN'T WAIT SIR... Awesome Layout update!!! Happy Thanksgiving ! -Gary

It’s amazing how deep some of those scenes look when they’re just a few inches wide. Great video. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Yes a good photo backdrop makes all the difference.
Look good Tim, to you and your family have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving
Highball on the air
Thanks! You too!
Tim, you sure you don't have a fully stocked hobby shop down there? Ha Ha Just a beautiful setup, and layout!!
Thanks! I definitely have enough stuff to keep me busy for a long time.

The backdrops are amazing, and your top notch scenicking blends so well with them. Kudos all around on a gorgeous and well executed layout!!
Thank you!
Hey Tim,
Love your progress.
With 54 inch elevation being so right - why introduce a helix ?
Thanks! The helix will take the track down to the main yard which is set at 44”. The yard includes staging which will go under the part of the layout in an adjacent room.

Need a Sign at the pond. No Feeding The Squatch! 😮
😂
did you buy the complete package for the wehonest crossing signals?
Yes, I got everything. Not bad for the price.
How did you do your layout lights???
I use LED light strips that you can purchase off of Amazon or Micro Mark.
Do you call the swamp Mosquito bend??
That would be a good name for it.

Not often you see a fictitious railroad on a model train layout.
