    Wish it had some thumb studs from the factory to go with the flipper but other than that it looks amazing 👏

    This one looks good, good materials, I like the blade shape, price is good for the materials and made in the USA. Thanks for the review, Doody.

    I have the titanium and 80s Camocarbon inlaid Model 1. The tolerances are much better on it. I'm interested in seeing what your cut tests reveal. I took it straight out of the box and it went through a couple of cardboard boxes like nothing.

    In my opinion/experience the grind and overall blade geometry play a huge factor in cutting performance over just the BTE thickness. Like the spyderco shaman is pretty thick BTE and the stock is something like 0.15” but the full flat grind and blade geometry make it a better slicer than many thinner knives. I bet if you think about it some of your best cutter have pretty tall blades and/or flat grinds. I feel like a lot of people think blade geometry is just the thickness or the BTE thickness. Great video BTW!!🤘🏼🤘🏼

      Yes! You’re exactly right. It’s a combination of things that make a blade slice well

    You should try the model 2 in Ti/Magnacut. It’s amazing.
    Take that M1 apart and clean out the gunk. I have the Ultem version and it made a huge difference.

      I just did today, not much difference. Maybe it’ll break in

    Cool knife doody. Kinda wondering what the roller bearings look like and how they interface with the micarta. I have a Kizer Dukes flipper that has roller bearings and it’s weird should really be a slow roller. The roller bearings slow the knife down from a ball bearing washer that flys out super fast and smooth. It causes the Kizer sometimes not to open all the way if you don’t hit the flipper correctly. The Kizer dukes is also a liner lock. I mean I feel I would roll the dice if had a button lock or compression lock(Spyderco patent is out to). I want to say I like everything ABW is doing but functionally I thought I have seen this before. So I watch ABW to see if they experiment with other locks. Like I said when I see someone take it apart maybe i would go for it.

    Mines coming in at 12 thousandths, which is fantastic. The 6 thousandths you mentioned, I think they had requested an unsharpened blade so they could put their own edge on it. Not sure if that's what causing the result. Or like you said, calipers aren't calibrated correctly.

    Trm and abw aren't the same when it comes to cutting geometry. ABW is way better, the sharpening angle is a big part of determining the bte measurement. For example I sharpened my atom at 15° per side and it's now 26 thousandths bte, sharpened my ABW the same way and it's 16 thousandths bte after the same exact sharpening. Of course trm in getting a 15 thousandths bte measurement, it's sharpened at 25° per side from factory.

      @doodysdaggers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree. I think the much thinner blade stock on TRMs allows them to slice significantly better. Thinner things can pass through materials easier

    What an ugly knife.
