If you are using a desktop and you are using the other hdmi for another source you will have to unplug it for the monitor to work otherwise it won't accept two source even if the the other hmdi has nothing on it.

Im only trying to use this because my tv only has only 1 hdmi in port. I dont want to ruin it by unplugging and plugging different units. I plugged the male into the tv and plugged an x box in 1 and the p24 into the female ends. My xbox will display when on. And after i turn it off i turn the ps4 on and nothing shows on my tv. Am i using this wrong?
Try unplugging splitter cable after turning on PS4. Remember one cable in and two cables (the same signal) out put. I have similar problem when I unplug the TV HDMI cable from the splitter so I can go back to my computer monitor.

Not sure I understand the problem. If you expect to watch two different thing, it can not do that. This device can only display same thing on both monitors. Maybe someone else can help with your question?
Depends. I always leave my computer monitor plugged into this device and only unplug the monitor from the device when I plug in my HDMI cable to the TV HDMI port. Then , I plug back in my computer monitor cable. Everything has to be done in sequence otherwise nothing works correctly. Thanks for watching.

That's not how electronics work sadly. I'm assuming you asked this because your PC doesn't have a second output port to connect a second screen to. In that case, you'll want to look for one of those USB 3-to-HDMI/VGA/DVI adapters. When connected, these adapters will act like an additional video card, and allow you to connect a second screen to it.

What about if you leave cables always plugged in? And then just choose to plug in to laptop do you still have unplug every time outputs and connect in order?

John McIver I don't think I can reverse the Output because the HDMI cable isn't removable for the Output. I have tried connecting to the tower and placing the TV HDMI into the input and the Monitor HDMI output. What is the best course of action? Thanks for your time
The splitter is a passive device, it only knows the signal it gets in then splits it into two identical signals as output. Maybe you are asking for the splitter to do more then it was designed to do. Suggest watching my video again. Good luck.

UPDATE: SOUND ONLY GOES TO ONE OF THE TWO OUTPUT HDMI CABLE. YOU CAN GET VIDEO ON EACH OF THE TWO OUTPUTS BUT ONLY ONE WILL HAVE SOUND. Make sure both TVs input signal is set to HDMI. Also I have switched the spliter output port, just unplug from spliter and plug into another output port. I still have trouble making mine work, so I just experiment with different combinations of output ports and TV HDMI input port until I find what works. Good luck.
That is what I used here. I take the HDMI output from my laptop using a special adapter (HDMI to DVI) , my monitor gets it signal via the DVI input on the monitor. Good luck.
Warning Be careful, with this hdmi 1 in 2 out u can only use your monitor in duplicate project not a extended project. if u want to use monitor for extended monitors you need to buy splitter little bit expensive, with box. I suggest unplugging both cables, then plug in the 75 first. If that doesn't work unplug both cables and plug in the 100' frist. Let me know if that helps. Also, you may have a cable going bad.

I'll try to help. First determine where your HDMI signal source is coming from. In my case it is my computer. Connect the signal source to the single input port of the splitter. Then connect the HDMI cables to the splitter output to each of the outputs (2 ea) ports. Warning the TV you are connecting to must be in the HDMI mode. One signal (video) into splitter you get two duplicate signals out to each of two separate monitors, in my case one monitor and 1 TV (set to an HDMI port). Re-watch the video, may may have missed how I did it.

The answer is in the title of this video. One output from a computer goes to 1.) an external computer monitor and 2.) at same time the second output goes to the TV HDMI input. Results: both external computer and TV have the same video. However, you select which (monitor or TV) has the audio. Suggest watching my video again that covers this. That is what my video shows you how to do. One HDMI output from my computer that splits into two HDMI outputs. One output goes to my TV the other goes to my computer monitor. Either buy a switch to flip, manually unplug the hdmi cable for the one you aren't using, or, turn off the unused console, you could always just buy a splitter that has a switch built in or an HDMI switch.

Depends. On my laptop my video out is HDMI to my Dell monitor. If I want to watch other TV channel I just unplug the HDMI cable leading from TV to this splitter. Hope that helps if not restate your question in more detail.

how can I maintain the screen resolution on both monitors? usually when I turn on my PC it uses some weird resolution like 640x480 while I should be using 1200x720 on both my tv and pc monitor. Even when I change the resolution in control panel it goes bananas when I turn it on
If your PC is a laptop, try turning on computer with display screen open. I would also try using a different TV or computer monitor just to be sure they are not causing the problem. Thanks for watching.

The ones that have many hdmi ports, some of which can even split multiple hdmi cables at the same time, some are super high tech and have the ability to switch the cables around (digitally) without actually unplugging anything, some of them have little LED light indicators, a lot of these options will require power to function.
I am not using two TVs. However, I think the process I use may fix that. When I unplug one of the two HDMI cables going into the splitter I just unplug both, wait 10 seconds then plug one cable back into splitter. Watch the last third of my video over. Hope this helps.
Good point, sometimes your setup will not work. I find if I switch cables to fast it will not work, maybe computer speed is the issue. Suggest watching video all the way thru and give it another try. Thanks for the comment and watching.
Remember one signal in = one or two of the same signal out, still the same audio/video out either of the two cable outputs. Maybe watch my video all the way to end will help. Good luck. If I understand your question the answer is yes. I do not have or use a PS4. However, this device will give you the same audio/video signal on two monitors with a single input signal. I have exactly this splitter connected to two hdmi cables (75ft and 100ft) but sometimes won't work on the 100ft cable. What could be the problem?
I suggest unplugging both cables, then plug in the 75 first. If that doesn't work unplug both cables and plug in the 100' frist. Let me know if that helps. Also, you may have a cable going bad.

Sometimes in Windows settings (Windows 10) you can custom size the screen display. Try setting display size at 90% Vs 100%. Good luck.

Depends. On my laptop my video out is HDMI to my Dell monitor. If I want to watch other TV channel I just unplug the HDMI cable leading from TV to this splitter. Hope that helps if not restate your question in more detail.
I just got one today I’m trying to use it with my PS4 and my fire stick I’m not trying to use them at the same time but it still won’t work

how can I maintain the screen resolution on both monitors? usually when I turn on my PC it uses some weird resolution like 640x480 while I should be using 1200x720 on both my tv and pc monitor. Even when I change the resolution in control panel it goes bananas when I turn it on
If your PC is a laptop, try turning on computer with display screen open. I would also try using a different TV or computer monitor just to be sure they are not causing the problem. Thanks for watching.

Just duplicate.
How come some of them need power?
The ones that have many hdmi ports, some of which can even split multiple hdmi cables at the same time, some are super high tech and have the ability to switch the cables around (digitally) without actually unplugging anything, some of them have little LED light indicators, a lot of these options will require power to function.
If you're going to have background music can you speak up a bit or don't have any music. Just some advice.

I am not using two TVs. However, I think the process I use may fix that. When I unplug one of the two HDMI cables going into the splitter I just unplug both, wait 10 seconds then plug one cable back into splitter.

The splitter is a passive device, consider it point to point wired. This is like a water hose splitting into two water out streams.

Good point, sometimes your setup will not work. I find if I switch cables to fast it will not work, maybe computer speed is the issue. Suggest watching video all the way thru and give it another try. Thanks for the comment and watching.

Remember one signal in = one or two of the same signal out, still the same audio/video out either of the two cable outputs. Maybe watch my video all the way to end will help. Good luck. It is not easy on some monitors. This device allows you to have two (identical) video/audio outputs. This is not an extender device.

I do not have or use a PS4. However, this device will give you the same audio/video signal on two monitors with a single input signal. No HDMI on my laptop.....currently come out of VGA to vga/hdmi adapter....then HDMI to one tv...

Remember VGA is video only no sound. If your adapter includes HDMI and you get sound to your TV, then it may work like you wish. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

I did that and it worked but my mouse wasn't working on either one of them.
My mouse is wireless. HDMI splitter doesn't carry mouse signal.

I have only one port hole on my tv . I bought hdmi splitter so I can connect my sky tv to my now tv box I just connect it but screen is blue?
Remember, one HDMI cable in and two out. If your TV only has one HDMI, consider getting a separate monitor like I did for my laptop. Watch both the original and updated version of my videos. Good luck.
