For the film buffs, here this(udawatte kale) is where the first forest scene in indiana jones & temple of doom was filmed, where indie finds those statues , the village set was built in the Trinity college primary grounds at the bottom of the road, forest cover was much thicker then and that ugly entrace arch wasnt there, its "protected" now but state of the sanctury is sad to see, it was a sanctuary then too,but nobosy let it go to ruin and it was free to enter. thanks Dale for the video
Whoa.. This is the best Udawatta kale exploring video out here.. You must have covered more than 90% of the entire park.. Nice job.. Not many people goes to those caves to see them.. Thanks man, this was more like an informative video for all the local & foreign tourists who are coming to Kandy. .
@@discoverwithran his passport says otherwise but I know what you mean. I don't take Dale to be a Euro lovee to be honest, but I may be wrong.. only he knows lol

Wow... it is great to know that you are having a fabulous time in Kandy. I was born in Kandy. By the way, Kottu is not an original Sri Lankan dish or street food as you call it. It’s originally from South India. The word “Kottu” means ( Left over food) in South India less fortunate people didn’t throw their leftovers. What they did was they made a mix of all what ever that was left from the previous couple of meals and either stir fried them or sautéed them together and ate it as another meal. Kottu was first known to the Sri Lankans through the Tamil community in the early 90s. Since then Kottu has come along way. Real (typical / authentic) Sri Lankan food, to say a few would be, Kiri Bath (Milk rice) rice cooked with coconut milk. Then comes rice and curry (steamed rice consumed with a few curries cooked with authentic Sri Lankan curry powders) boiled grains or sweet potatoes with coconut. Then again, string hoppers came from god knows where. Egg hoppers Of Course came from the Europeans as I was told. So coming back to Kottu, I’m happy that people are full and blessed after a full filling of it. Enjoy Sri Lanka.
