Why Rudiments!? The Long Roll....

The long roll, or double stoke roll as it is also called, is in my opinion the most important rudiment we have. A proper double can set the stage for all of your rudiments. It is also the first rudiment I ask all of my new students to play. It lets me know how I will start with the student.

yea! Those guys were on point! I hung out with them for a bit, really cool guys! Those snare were the best! I believe they only used the OG 13 rudiments. Maybe 26...

Thank you! Yea, I think I noticed the shuffle by accident years ago while teaching a student this roll. Since then I have tried to play my shuffles as fast as my doubles...haven't made it yet...Thank you so much for watching!
