Wow I really love his design! Both of them are great, but I do believe the new one has better autonomy and greater balance between the trees and the body. Nice job!
His story makes me curious: can you make an angry version of him? Like a furious/ protective version? It actually makes great practice of duality in creatures, I really recommend it. From personal experience I know this is really fun.

this is really cool! you should make a legendary of each element, like, water, forest, desert, etc. so each can have their own protector? haha.
As much as I love this, I prefer the random animals out of a jar. I feel like that is more creative and we get to see more of your process of character creation. Please take this into consideration, love you so much ! ❤️
He looks like a video game character. Not one that you interact with, but one you just see along the way on your journey.
I think it looks really good. Especially with your strong use of colour in all of your drawings and the fact that each of your creature's pose makes it look alive.
I feel like he's the Baymax (Big Hero 6) of the creatures you've made for the cards. He looks so gentle and calm and so adorable! You did a great job.
Wow. This is so cool. It's slightly reminiscent of the spirits from Studio Ghibli's Spirited away. I can totally see him being a forest spirit or guardian. 😊

I think it would be really cool if you eventually released a zine of these characters, and each zine came with one of the cards.
I absolutely love that he looks like the kind of creature you would find in the middle of the forest and give a large hug
I love this design more than the original but I think changing the colors of the feathers to a lovely blue would tie the whole piece together, and I really love the name pond for it actually. Maybe something along the lines of pond the protector

What if he is like a dog or hippo where they have a nonthreatening apprentice normally but look like they will rip you to shreds as soon as they open there mouth
I really like his design. He feels like a protector, but also a teacher.
I think both designs are great! It's like when you play a game like League of Legends, this is like one of his "skins" (or like an alternate look or design) and I think it looks awesome! You can still clearly see that this is Pond but you incorporated the feathers and fur quite well
I have recently started playing Magic The Gathering card game. Your cards are absolutely amazing!!! Magic has a lot of different artists who do their art work. I was really looking forward to this creature in particular, just because I love owls! And the color scheme is actually really pretty!! I love it!! It is earthy and it corresponds to the description of the character/creature!

You should make your cute little boi in the intro for a card:3 and its double sided like magic of the gathering stuff ( like the werewolf card) because he/she could sprout flowers for extra ability’s. Im new here so idk if this is like a playable card thing but still might be a cool idea.
Here are some suitable name idea I came up with (all inspired heavily by different gods from different cultures)
- atlas
- Gaia, the bringer of life
- The guardian Terra
(Please feel free to not use the names but you can use the other parts instead)
Honestly, I prefer the newer version of your oc to the previous one. It shows how much you’ve improved with different aspects (such as anatomy, colour theory, etc)

The creature looks like a golem of some sort I’ve been trying to come up with a name with it but if you can 👍
Well a golem is traditionelly something out of clay that a humam formed. The human will then feed them with tasks written on paper and the golem will do that. I guess this is supposed to be a natural creature, not one made by humans.

I feel like the black and white spots really pulled the owl coloring together better. They kinda remind me of black and white sesame seeds.

yeah, but you could try out colors on a thumbnail first before coloring the main drawing...
the illustration turned out amazing anyway, I just feel like the thumbnail coloring would save you a lot of worries in general

I have an idea for the creature designs. You should put like 5-10 freebees or something it. So like you put that on a piece of paper just like the other animal names and mix them up. Then if and when you get one, you get to pick what animal you draw with the other two names. Idk. It was just an idea and I think it would be cool to see that

You should make legendary cards white or some really light color that will stand out pf the deck. And it would contrast well with your amazing character and all its dark colors

Japanese nature walker
Bio:
A nature walker is born from a slightly deserted, luscious piece of earth, and are already full grown. As they walk the earth, they gather animals and recourses to keep their environment alive. As they grow, their plants start to overflow.
When they find the perfect home, they lay down, letting their enviroment blend with the earth.
Personality:
They are kind, gentle creatures that will take in anything in need of help. Although, when they sleep, some of them will be mischievous, walking in other creatures.

Waaaahhh love it! I think maybe if you change all the red with blue it would be more calm, because the red « pops » a lot with the green leafs. But everything you do is always beautiful anyway. And I reaaallly love those kind of video! Keep up the good work! (I will be waiting for the live :D )

Dina, you're such an amazingly talented young artist. I mostly watched human character drawing videos before I stumbled upon your channel and your random creature designs. They're some of the most relaxing and beautiful additions to the TH-cam art community.
That's also the reason it pains me to hear such doubt about your art in your words. Everyone feels that sometimes, so you're allowed to as well. Honestly I loved the new sketch and design. But it seems that once you started colouring you starting feeling like it was some sort of cop-out (which it wasn't at all), and this started showing in your work.
Please don't forget that making art on TH-cam should not only be driven by the loyalty you feel towards viewers and making content that we like or 'apprpve of'. Your art is for you. Keep making pieces like this one, which hold some sort of emotion and nostalgia. It makes the soul float.
