Good point. As long as you take good care of a herringbone chain, it should last you. The only problem is that if something does happen to it, there's, unfortunately, not much that can be done to fix it.
@@DivineSoul999 This is common with these chains. A lot of jewelers get complaints about these types of things because customers don't realize it before buying them that herringbones are essentially unrepairable once this happens. Great vid honestly
Haha, if you know the drawbacks, and you still love it, go for it! :) They're not "bad" chains, they just can't really be repaired if something happens to them.
Herringbone chains are great chains just not a chain to be active in or sleep in more of a weekend casual chain if you wanna be active and do stuff and not worry about your chain a thicker rope 4mm + are super sturdy and pretty much any link chain and especially Cuban links are great for being active you can’t damnage those
@@iam2908 Snake changes definitely have a nice clean look. But, they don't have the reputation for strength that a cuban or rope chain does, for instance. We made a video testing the strength of different chain styles if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/lnzhFFsoIA0/w-d-xo.html
Good question! The closest alternative is probably the Omega chain. Of course, Omegas also don't handle being bent well, but they are generally a tougher ( you can see our comparison test here: th-cam.com/users/shortsUUY8AUwUY-0 ) and easier to repair. If you're ok with a different look, a more flexible design like a tight link rolo or cuban link chain will be much more durable in the long run.
Oh no! :( That's such a bummer. They're pretty, but they can be so fussy. Feel free to reach out to us if you ever want to trade it in towards another chain style.
It’s not meant for wearing it to bed….not easy to bend it.

You spend the money on something you want, simple…take care of it!

Agreed. You might like our full video comparing chain strengths. Spoiler alert: The Cuban link was a beast! th-cam.com/video/lnzhFFsoIA0/w-d-xo.html
The snake chain is similar but it’s more $$$

What's the name of the simmilar looking alternative one?

Who's sitting on them but i still love em
Yeah, as long as you take good care of them, they're a great chain.
This is more than having to be gentle it's a literal inevitability if you actually wear it. No reputable dealer should sell these
Mine got kinked because I was trying to put them on with long nails and I pinched the chain near the clasp 🙃🥲

@@ArdenJewelers hi, I didn’t purchase my chain from you :) I just happen to watch your video
@@02leda Of course, that makes sense. :) Just so you know, we buy jewelry and do trade-ins all the time whether you got the jewelry from us or not.
Noooooooo!!!
Ha ha, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Most durable chain hands down has to be soild Franco chain🫡 cannot go wrong
Definitely a great option! A solid Cuban or Curb will also hold up very well.
