- Sharing mistakes I made with my fine jewelry purchases that I now regret. I could have saved so much money if I knew back when I bought these pieces what I know now.

What I saw in this video is that you don't think about your purchase, you have to try it on, think about how you will use it, if they are for every day or for special occasions, know the color of the metal you prefer, know what other jewelry you are going to combine them with and if they will look good together and even think about whether in the future you will want to buy more pieces from the same collection, don't just buy jewelry because it is pretty or because it is a trend, you have to take your time to think and analyze then buy more wisely. I assure you that if you implement this you will never regret your purchases.
The point of juste un clou to me is to not have diamonds. Its the simplicity of “just a nail” which makes it cool.
That’s an interesting take on it. I never thought about it that way before but you have a point.
The luxury market is treating their products like fast fashion. When a luxury bag is "out" in a year or two, why on earth would I want to pay a luxury price point? I always go for *suluxy* , their quality is great.
I like the ring with no diamonds, but prefer the bracelet with diamonds. Hopefully I’ll get the bracelet someday. I’m buying myself the ring for my birthday this year and can’t wait to get it!
Thanks for your honesty! People who say you’re being ungrateful are clearly very bitter. Your insights are super helpful for us just starting to expand our collections
I bought the JUC with diamonds and just sold it for a plain gold. It felt like a cocktail bracelet so only wore it for dress. I prefer the love with diamonds as it can go formal or casual . My stack now is gold 4 diamond love, large gold pave and plain gold JUC. I can wear it to the gym or a party and always looks appropriate since it has bling but is quietly elegant.
Years ago I would never have bought fake however recently I have done and when you realise and compare both "hight quality luxury" and "fake" like I have done, you tend to feel scammed as the product and materials are exact the same *suluxy*
I feel you.
We all have our own reasons why we shouldn’t buy some jewelry that made it to our collection.
I love anything with diamonds.
Love white gold and the gold with diamonds. It’s good to stack them for casual wear or when going out.
Our preferences change through time too.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I just love the Chanel coco crush rings in the slim band. So pretty! 💕
It’s one of a few designs I actually prefer plain vs with diamonds 😄
Great video. I love my fine jewelry pieces but I have two regrets. One is my plain thin JUC--same as you. I also bought it before the diamond one came out, AND I accidentally got it in the wrong size. I had the cuff and the SA just told me it was one size smaller than the Love, but it is TWO sizes smaller than the Love cuff. Ugh. So then I eventually bought the regular diamond JUC and even though it cost a fortune, I am so much happier wearing that one. I still wear my plain JUC in casual settings or when I travel. The second slight regret is the VCA Frivole between the finger ring. I got it in a size too big. I can still wear it but you can tell it's big. I bought it because I was waiting for the large Frivole earrings to come in (this was during Covid) and they were taking forever, so I jumped on the ring. But since they had limited stock, I wasn't able to try on different sizes to compare. Definitely an important lesson for me--buy the right size! As for diamond bangles, I have the Cartier Etincelle and I'm super happy with it. Even though the diamonds are small, they add a big punch to the overall look of my stack.
Ugh it sucks that stock is so rare and it’s sometimes not even possible to compare sizes 😩 The Frivole between the finger ring is stunning! Maybe you can ask if it can be adjusted to your proper size?
I originally wanted the regular JUC but when I tried it on, it looked completely ridiculous on me 😅 So I went with the small JUC plus the small love but it was somewhat of a last minute decision. In hindsight I should’ve given it more thought first 🫣
Very honest video. I am way too poor to impulse buy anything of this price range, I can’t afford to not like presents either 😂
A possible solution for the half diamond tennis bracelet is to maybe get more links removed to wear it more tight fitting or maybe a jewelry get add to the clasp area some more gold somehow (maybe a charm or something)so the clasp area would be heavier than where the diamonds are. I think everyone has had a type of buyers remorse at one time or another. Live and learn. For example, I bought gold chain necklace but for some reason it always pulls out my hair so I never seem to wear it. Maybe you can sell some of the pieces you dont wear and then use that to buy something else. Thanks for the video! ❤ 😊
Oh good idea about adding some weight to the clasp so it doesn't spin. I'll have to look into that.
I think it’s a you issue, not a jeweler issue.
Hi Carol I felt the same way about the white gold love bracelet. It was so dull. Same with the ring. I sold them and bought the ones with diamonds. Much happier with them. Now the coco crush I also sold and bought the white gold with diamonds. I learned too late I like diamonds too lol. It’s a very helpful video. Good for though. Take care dear
Yeah I don’t know why Cartier doesn’t rhodium plate the plain white gold love pieces. I didn’t know that back then and I never compared it side by side with the diamond version so I only learned about it a few years later.
Interesting that you like the coco crush more with diamonds. Maybe I would feel differently if mine was a bracelet or even one of the thicker rings, but for my thin coco crush ring I like it more plain because I feel like the round diamonds don’t fit quite well in the diamond quilts and it throws the design off.
Yes. I had the thicker plain coco crush in white gold. It was pretty just too thick for me. Might work for you tho haha
Ahh yeah the thicker one is too overwhelming on me too.
My least fav colour of gold is yg too! When I tried on the yg guilloche, as much as I tried to like it, I couldn’t help but think it looked really yellow which put me off the piece. Unlike you, the wg guilloche was available then which was the piece I ended up with. I agree that the wg just sparkles and shines more brilliantly. One minor regret of mine is probably with sizing of my regular sized JUC. While it’s technically (by multiple Cartier SA) my correct size, I sometimes still think about getting it in a size bigger which would make it more comfortable. Although the bigger size does stick out more which doesn’t look the best either.
It’s so difficult to shop when sizing varies so much at Cartier. I feel like every piece is sized differently 😑
I appreciate your honesty.
Everyone should stop judging how grateful or ungrateful she is. I’m sure that she got to make the decisions on choosing these gifts and the regret is about her own decisions! This is a super useful video on how to plan your connection and I can definitely relate to some of these mistakes.
*suluxy* Literally the happiest place we girls are
There’s nothing wrong to trade up your JUC, plain love, & 1/2 diamond bracelet to a piece you love to wear
The practical side of me totally agrees 😆 but I don’t think I’m comfortable with that yet.
I have the small JUC with diamonds and I must agree that the little bits of diamonds make the piece more special. Without diamonds it looks very plain.
Exactly! Such a big difference. Once I found out they released the small JUC with diamonds, I immediately knew I made a mistake with mine.
It may look plain but it looks like a million bucks to me bc I purchased for myself and am grateful.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. 100% agree on JUC.
Are the love bracelets with 6 diamonds plated with rhodium?
Yes they are.
I don't know if you would like this idea: For the "half" tennis bracelet, could you bring it to a jeweler and extend the chain to make a necklace?
I may be wrong, but I wonder if maybe you regret buying from luxury/ name brands because they are the brands instead of styles you actually liked.
Interesting idea about making it into a necklace. I have considered sourcing similar diamonds to complete the other half of the bracelet but the cost of that just wouldn’t be worth it because I could buy a whole extra bracelet for that price. Making it into a necklace without adding extra diamonds might be more cost efficient though.
Also you’re right sometimes I get caught up in the hype and popularity of a piece and get influenced to buy it 😅
What is your wish love bracelet version?
My regret is my tiffany T1 hardware in small. Its a beautiful piece but the locking mechanism is annoying me:) feel like its not that secured. If I would have waited Im leaning towards getting the lock collection in half pave diamond. Still in my wishlist and hoping to get in someday:) let’s see what 2024 brings:)
The lock collection is really growing on me! Actually Tiffany’s in general is growing on me a lot. That LVMH marketing money is reaping them rewards 😂
lol i feel like I am opposite- I love yellow gold most 😅🤣
Really? I would think that it’s rose gold.
I did love rose gold but I feel over time, it becomes more gold than rose? 😅🤣
I hate when that happens. Luckily most of mine seem to stay pretty rose/pink.
I was wondering if a jeweler could shorten the diamond bracelet that always slips to the under side of your wrist. If the bracelet was only a bit larger than your wrist maybe it would stay in place better ?
You’re probably right but I don’t like how these types of bracelets look when they’re too fitted. I’ve thought about having enough matching diamonds sourced to combine with the existing ones on that bracelet in order to make a full diamond bracelet but the cost of that project makes it so not worthwhile. It’s better to just buy a whole new bracelet instead.
I feel sorry for your inlaws and your Mom.
Hah you might as well add my husband to the mix because I don’t like all the gifts he buys me too 🙄
LOL
How ungrateful…
half video in and I had to close out of this video because of how bratty she sounded
Oh stop. She’s being honest. Not everything works out. Grow up.
I feel like you should consider selling the pieces that aren’t making your heart sing.
I know the small JUC and LOVE were wedding gifts but I think your in-laws would rather you have pieces that you truly love. Maybe speak to your hubby and see what he thinks. The new piece you buy could be a replacement wedding gift from your in-laws :)
In terms of making a loss on the pieces you sell, it sucks but the money was already spent :( If you plan to pass them down to family in the future, then perhaps keep them however if not, it is better to take the loss and put it towards something that you truly love.
I love the BML rings as well but I am not a ring wearing person (wedding set and perhaps one more ring is enough) so sensible me decided it would be a waste for me to get them… they are so pretty though!
Yeah I’ve been really debating selling some pieces but for now I still wear all of them, albeit not often. I think when I get to a point where I don’t wear a piece at all for a long enough period of time then I’ll sell it. It’s strange because I’m much more cutthroat when it comes to selling bags but hesitate with jewelry.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC I think it’s harder with jewellery because it becomes part of you and is just so personal :)
I’ve been really fortunate and have collected a number of fine jewellery pieces over the last ten years but I’m getting to the point where I think I’m done. I don’t have any children so I’m not sure who I should pass these pieces onto. I told my partner that he can sell them all when I die and buy himself something nice with the funds lol.
LOL if I left my collection up to my husband to sell I’m afraid he’ll only get back pennies on the dollar 🤣
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC You need to get him more involved with your purchases so he knows these are valuable! Not trinkets :D
Haha I think he knows what things can sell for but he’s impatient so he’s the type that would rather get the money quicker even if it means pocketing less.
Send the Cartier love to Cartier for plating !
appreciate for sharing 🎀💘💕
Great video love ❤
Thanks! ❤️ So glad you enjoyed it!
My roommate used to buy bags off *suluxy* . I think she ended up spending almost the price of the bag she wanted . They were real leather .
I like my pieces with diamonds, too!!!!! 🥰
It’s best that way 🤩
I love your bulgari one the most because of the design so different . I thought I wanted ghw but you make me want rghw lol . I don’t know now
Haha I will say I’ve seen the yellow gold one in stores too and it’s also really stunning. I don’t think there’s a wrong answer if you love both colors of metal 😆
I think you can get your small Love rhodium plated if you ask Cartier, so this wouldn't be an issue.
Really? I’ve asked in the past when I first found out it wasn’t rhodium plated and was told that it wasn’t possible because that’s not how they intended the product to look. Maybe they changed the policy since then. Getting it rhodium plated would most likely require having the bracelet polished first though and I’m not sure how I feel about that. On one hand it would be nice to polish out all the accumulated scratches but I’ve also heard that polishing it rounds off the edges which changes the look.
My SA at Cartier just told me the same. I asked about my white gold love ring and they said yes I could do it for a few hundred dollars
Oh thanks for letting me know. I’ll have to go ask again.
I wish you made this video earlier! I was debating about getting the coco crush ring in plain beige gold and the Bee my love ring in the plain pink gold.
In the end, nothing went to plan and I got 2 BML rings. I think I should've got both of my rings in half diamonds instead of one with that's got diamonds (Pink Gold) and the other that is plain (White Gold). Because of the honeycomb shape, the plain gold does sparkle but I think the ones with diamonds just looks so much more prettier (although I get more compliments on the plain white gold than the pink gold with diamonds). They were unexpected purchases because I was overseas on a holiday and I wish I had just got the pink gold with diamonds and waited to save more money for the white gold with diamonds on the next trip. The store and customer service at Chaumet was exceptional and I still love my pieces stacked together ❤
The one with diamonds on half of the honeycombs is the one I would go for too. The reason I never went ahead and bought it is because there’s no Chaumet in the US. It seems so risky to order it from Paris without even knowing which size would fit me best. Like you, I would definitely seek out a Chaumet boutique when I’m on vacation too 😄
Buying jewelry is a waste of money, especially if it's over the top expensive just because it's from a designer.
Please send me all those jewellery which you regret having coz I would be blessed to have them as I can’t afford them 😊
Do you all wear your cartiers on Right or left Hand? I have Fear if i wear it on my dominant Hand that it will get more scratches
I wear them on the left since my right hand is my dominant hand. I typically don’t wear bracelets on my right hand unless it matches better with a ring I’m wearing on my right hand than my wedding set.
I do that because I feel like bracelets get in the way on my right hand, not really because of the wear and tear concern.
You are very young and have many years to choose beautiful pieces of jewelry......... your tastes will change as the years pass. It seems you buy pieces quickly without truly thinking about the real amount of time you will wear. Best of luck to you.
Perhaps you could slow down, think about it for a while and then buy one special piece at a time..... FYI - you are absolutely correct, DIOR re-sell is not good at all. If you purchase - be certain you are planning on keeping.....
I don't mean to sound rude - but you ramble....
If you are near Los Angeles and want to sell the guilloche bracelet, let me know. I have magic pendant of it.
thank you
I tried to count how many times she said “I like diamonds”, after 100th time, I just gave up.
Hmm I could’ve sworn I never said it anywhere near 100 times 🤔
😅
So what. It’s a jewelry video
Summary, get diamonds in ur jewellery n u will like it
Sorry but you come across as super ungrateful I feel bad for you’re in-laws
i know right!!!!
Yep
Diamonds or bust 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Umm!
Не рыпайся
Not to mention entitled and ungrateful
Leaving….your voice annoyed me
